All these talent shows are full of people who want fame so badly that they come across as desperate somehow and needy and fake. Alejandro just wanted to share his music. He is so clearly uncomfortable with the media spotlight or even just ordinary people praising him. I hope he finds good people to look after him because someone as soft as him will get chewed up by the machine and spat out broken. His family doesn't look to be a great help, so i hope he has some good trustworthy friends. But my worry is that he will be taken advantage of.

He is free to create his real work vs. being controlled by the pop/top40-schlock Idol music company, 19 Entertainment. The only thing good about Alejandro winning Idol would have been a Mexican-American Idol during #fakepresident trump's wall attempts. I would have loved that but was worried it would kill his career. Good for Laine but not good for a musician that is already appraoching mastery.
Unfortunately, you have to be ready to go and take on the schedule that the powers that be, provide. and I don't think he was ready for that and he did't want to take the role on and would rather have done music his way, in his venues, etc. ...even though he's talented, you have to do it their way. Think that's why he wasn't chosen but he certainly will be successful and will tour, he's too talented not too.
I don’t know , maybe Alejandro needs to clear up a few things like , why was he already playing with well known artist before coming out in American Idol or playing music in the streets. He has been exposed to people already . This guy is smart and he said he use to lie a lot when he was younger. Maybe he’s still lying to become popular . And he didn't hide that he's gone on a tour, he did have Twin Shadow for the hero segment and was his backup singer/player. So what?
