I wanted a bigger screen super bad but I knew smaller would be better because my wrists are extremely small. Best decision I’ve ever made! I went from the 44 mm series 4 and this is so much more comfortable, looks way better, and adjusting to the smaller screen was not hard at all.
Agree fully. Also, the benefit is 3rd party band sellers will now accommodate your wrist size every single time you buy. When I had the bigger case, it was not as freeing to buy other bands when the one length they sell assumes the wrist is bigger and may not fit even on the highest setting..
I think the 41 looks better on wrist, however, there are more bands to choose on the 45mm size(including the ultra’s new bands) It’s a really hard choice.
Anyone after some extra opinions, I ended up picking up the 45mm and I absolutely love it. I was worried it would be too big, but I got it on a cell plan and it was only 0.50 extra per month for the 45mm so it's so much more bang for the buck. My wrist size is about 180mm so I'm a tad above average wrist size probably just by virtue of being 6ft1, but I'm very lean built, I don't have massive arms/wrists, and yeah I am absolutely 110% glad I took a risk and went for the bigger size rather than playing safe and opting for the smaller. Also I think it might actually display _more_ content, not just showing the same content but with more on-screen if that makes sense. Earlier today I received a message on fb messenger of a photo and when I raised my watch to see the notification, it actually showed me the photo I was sent, whereas on my previous 41mm Series 6 I'm certain that photos were never shown in the notification preview for messenger. I think iMessage always showed an image preview but I'm sure it's the first time I've seen that for messenger. Could just be a recent update but it was still really awesome seeing a preview of the photo right on my wrist, and even though it's small, it was big enough for me to not reach for my phone to properly look at it. My verdict is if you want the extra screen size, and your wrist is ~170mm or more, the 45mm is absolutely a safe bet. I don't find it to be clunky, I don't think it looks shocking because of the size, it doesn't get in the way of things like getting dressed or whatever, last night was the first time I slept with it and it didn't feel any different to my previous 41mm, basically other than the fact the screen is bigger, it may as well be 41mm for the amount of difference it makes. Could be just because I'm tall/big and have above average wrist size, but if my wrist/size are similar to yours, 45mm is absolutely win!
I have a 7.25 inch wrist and normally wear 43-46mm watches. The 45mm Apple watch looked great however I wear dress shirts and generally long sleeves where I live and the 41mm is more liveable day-to-day. If I lived somewhere in a warm climate where I didn't wear long sleeve shirts, I would absolutely opt for the 45mm.
160mm wrist -- i had the 44mm series 4 since mid-2019 and just traded for the 41mm series 8 and i much prefer the smaller size. i'm not looking at it directly often enough to justify wearing something so big all the time.
My wrist is 165mm. I really went back and forth trying them on, but I ultimately went with the 45 mm. My wife, whose wrist is smaller went with the 41. We are both happy with our choices. For me, in the end, I liked the bigger screen and it seemed no bigger than my 42mm series 0. Very happy. For reference, my “dress watch” is a 1929 Hamilton Coronado which is much smaller. Still, my new Apple Watch is my daily driver - work, casual, play. It’s a perfect size, fwiw.
I guess it is down to preference I would always recommend going into a shop and trying them on first which is what I would do if I was in a position to buy one
Tried both case sizes and altho the 41mm with the S/M band is the right size, I opted for the 45mm watch. Love the bigger and brighter, full display so much better. Thanks for the insightful video!
Is it easy to use when you compared to the bigger screen one? I have 160mm wrist. I was about to buy 45mm but thought that it wasnt look good on my wrist so I couldnt decide and didnt buy either sadly.
I have 170mm (6.7”) wrist, so I’m still not sure. I ordered a 45mm because of larger display area, but prepared to send it back if it looks goofy big on me.

41mm probably is for me because I have small wrists. But i just really like the bigger display it stands out especially the bigger texts and overall display Is much more readable and elegant to look at.

I went to a tech market here and tried 44m watch se of the salesman there because there were alarms on the watches 🤦🏻♂️ I thıught that it was a bit wider than surface of the wrist. Long story short: I couldnt decide and left without buying. Any idea or suggestion?
@@maymunistahi so I changed my mind for the third time and settled with the 41mm. It looks more pleasing on your wrist and it doesn't feel like an iPad sticking out when you wear long sleeves. I'm really happy with the 41mm.
I think 41 mm is best for someone with wrist size under 17 cm. The good thing for 41 mm is, it’s fit for long or short sleeve t-/shirts for most wrist size… 45 mm should be better for bigger wrist above 17 cm….even long sleeve would not always be best to wear with the 45 mm…
My wrist is slightly over 17cm, but it's still a tough choice. You don't want to fatigue your eyes or have trouble seeing, but at the same time you don't want even more bulk on your wrist the 99 percent of the time your not looking at the watch.
@@paulf4133 I actually ended up not getting anything because I sold the iPhone 14 Pro. However, I did try the two sizes. I'd say if the bigger size/weight doesn't feel like a deal breaker when you first put it on, and you plan on interacting with the watch a significant amount (not just initially), the bigger one is a better choice. The screen size makes a big difference and is more enjoyable to use and look at.
Unfortunately, I made a mistake 3 years ago when I bought the 44mm Apple Watch Series 4 - it‘s way too big for my wrist. Unfortunately, switching to the smaller model isn’t that easy since I’ve bought numerous bands that would all become useless given I’d switch to the smaller model 😕
The 45mm looked like one of those old wrist calculators that used to be trendy when I was a kid. Too bulky for me. The 41mm fits perfectly on my wrist which is not exactly small yet I’m using the last hole on the S/M band.
My wrist is 17cm, so definitely the 45mm for me. Visually it leaves about 6mm on each side. With conventional watches the max size for me is around 40-42cm (diameter), depending on the lug depth (usually somewhere between 3mm on each size). Because the lugs in Apple watches are, by design, part of the case itself, it works for me. That is why lug to lug size is generally more important than case diameter. That does mean you need to stick with the original Apple band designs and do not use third party bands that introduce additional lugs, hence increasing visual width of the watch case. For example the sandmarc bands introduce about 2mm of lugs on each side, which is the same as going from the 41 to 45mm watch. Apple has designed their watches in a way you can maximize screen real estate, but still wear them comfortably.
I didn't really notice my wrist size until I saw 49mm Watch Ultra of my friend and it looked like a big, bulky screen on my small wrist. Hi Francesco, that is really personal. My wrist is almost the same as yours and I prefer the 41 mm. But....at the same time I do appreciate the Ultra as well, which is relatively huge.
Such a helpful review, thank you! I'm thinking of finally taking the plunge and getting one! Newbie question : how far away can you be from your phone on the GPS version to continue receiving texts and calls? Can you be like 3 rooms away or upstairs/downstairs easily? Thanks in advance
Hi Fia, although I do not have specific numbers, from own experience a few rooms or one floor away is no problem. I have not tried more (when I buy a bigger house :) )
I had a Series 4 44mm that the glass has broken on, so I’ve been using my old 42mm Series 1 but am going to buy a Series 8 next week and am split which to get having experienced both bigger and smaller sizes.
I love the fitness monitoring on the Apple Watch. Being someone who sits at a computer most of the day, I love that it let's me know I need to get up and move around and tracks my steps for the day. I need something to remind me to be active or I'll just work through the day and never get up.
Nice comparaison, i have the series 8 45mm red product and i love how the screen are big ! Just love this Apple watch because is match with my iPhone 14 pro
I have 183mm wrists. I'd like to try these on and see which fits best but there are no Apple stores near me. I do gave the best vision so the larger one appeals to me but I'm worried about bulk. Ant Recommendations?
Hi Dave, that is complicated then as it so personal. My wrists are 155 mm and for me the smaller size works better, but with 183 the bigger one, in general, seems to me the more logic option. Good luck!
I think I’m going to opt with the 45 even though my wrist is small. My eyesight is bad and I’ll think I’ll benefit better with the larger screen which is also the reason I purchased the 14pro max
I got the 45mm for $329 2weeks ago at Best Buy . Got as an open box. The product Red was locked and was not charged. Surprise to sale guy , and it was sealed but it was the silver one. Ordered a screen protector from Amazon and a magnetic band. Best Buy had bumper case only and sport band. I had the series 6 40mm. Prefer 45mm. Great comparison.
I’m disappointed that I can’t use the Apple Watch with my iPad. My plan was to get an iPad then the watch and use only the two devices but it turned out it’s impossible. I got the 5th gen iPad Air and it’s my first apple product. I thought the cellular version of the watch will work nicely with my iPad. Now I have to get an iPhone before I can get the watch
Thank you so much. As someone with small wrists and not great eyesight-- is the text on the 45mm any larger? --And easier to read for bad eyes? Or is it simply more screen space to display more text. Thank you.

How does the 41mm compare to the series 3 38mm. That size is perfect for my wrist, I’m worried 41mm is too big 🤔
No, it is not. I had similar doubts/questions, but in practice there is hardly any difference
Good luck!

I didn’t even think about sizing when I bought the Apple Watch and just went for the 41.
Hi so my wife wears
A series 2 42mm s/m band so 41 mm should be good or I should go 45 mm
Better to go from 42 to 41, in my opinion
I think I’m going to opt with the 45 even though my wrist is small. My eyesight is bad and I’ll think I’ll benefit better with the larger screen which is also the reason I purchased the 14pro max
Hi Virgo, enjoy the watch! And the 14promax
Thanks for sharing, Good price!
I like the 41mm just because I have small wrists. For me, it is more proportional
Not only did this video help me choose which option to get, it also opened my eyes to how fat my wrist is 😂
45 is the best option for me. Biggest screen I can find, it’s also fitting around my arm too. And I have many bands for the 42/44/45 mm.
In high school the kid who had the smallest cel phone won the popular vote. These mega displays are kinda lame.
I am a male with medium size waist and ended up choosing 41mm. I love that more than 45mm. 45mm looks a bit ugly on my opinion too.
Damn, that’s a bulky azz watch! Go with Accutron! Always a good decision.
Favorate Apple Watch feature: always on display, nice video
Thanks!
I had the series 6 44 mm, and went to the series 7 41 mm, and i love the 41mm size. Much better
@bigcbee
I think the 45mm size looks better, and the temperature sensor is the best feature.
@dionschuddeboom - is this a scammer sneaking on to your page?
Thank you so much. As someone with small wrists and not great eyesight-- is the text on the 45mm any larger? --And easier to read for bad eyes? Or is it simply more screen space to display more text. Thank you.
Hi Michael, there is more screen for more text.
Aan je naam te raden ben je Nederlands. Bij deze, duidelijke video en heeft mij geholpen in mijn keuze, dank u.
The best is 45mm. Thanks ☺️
