I have small and bony wrists. My Ultra 2 has overall been a pretty good experience. My only complaint so far is that the crown sometimes gets jammed up against my wrist bone or hair. The best solution is to wear the watch upside down, or move it further up your arm.
I sold my Ultra 2 and got the series 9 SS in silver. It gets me through the day and feels more streamlined on my wrist when exercising and with day to day wear for a variety of settings/attire. It doesn't feel as top heavy either. I also don't like the hard titanium edge around the glass on the U2 (I understand it protects the glass... I have Apple Care) and it usually ends up with dents and scratches... the sapphire crystal doesn't get all that wear on it. I'd rather just break the watch glass on a large impact and replace it with apple care than to have it all roughed and banged up. Ironically, the U2 is geared towards my demographic (biking running... no more than 5k though, weigh training, hiking, etc). I think the patina/scratches on the shiny SS don't stand out and much and look more natural than the flat finish of the Titanium on the U2... the SS series 9 finish on silver can also be buffed out relatively easy and still bring back the shiny luster. To each their own. I like both watches, but the Series 9 is my overall choice in SS :-) 45mm. The U2 is little overhyped IMO.
I purchased the ultra 2, and I love how it just feels more rugged and how it makes me feel like I don’t have to be as careful with it, but god I miss my stainless steel Apple Watch 7! The stainless steel 45mm Apple Watches are just so beautiful! I’m considering returning the ultra 2 and getting the 45mm stainless steel series 9 with cellular…it’s the exact same price!
@@hollydolly088 it’s grown on me lol I purchased a titanium link bracelet on Amazon that matches the color and texture on the ultra and it just looks so beautiful lol I’m keeping it.

Great video! Detailed and necessary descriptions! I watched several videos on RUclips to help me make this decision. None were good enough. Your video was simply perfect! Thank you for providing all the details. Now I’m sure I’ll be going with the 41mm. My wrist is very slim.
So I got the series 9 45mm my mum got the ultra two we both had them last Christmas I was doubting very much between the ultra and the series 9, but I just went with the nine because I really wanted like one and I thought that ultra two was really big because I think that the first generation of the ultra was really big isn’t the really tall and fat, so it didn’t really look really nice to me. Once I saw the ultra two on my mom’s wrist I knew for sure that I should’ve gotten that one. It looks sleeker than the first gen We both got them with cellular and it’s really convenient.

I have a 170mm wrist and anything over 40mm in a ‘normal’ watch looks ridiculous….and the ‘41’ just look right, anything bigger, even without lugs, it looks crap! Everyone to their own…..but look up watch face size>wrist diameter info for the best aesthetics.
I bought the Apple Watch SE when it first came out and like it. Unfortunately, my eyes are taking a bit of a turn for the worse and I’m needing bigger text, glasses, or longer arms. It’s a shame the ultra is too big for my wrists. I feel this is an unmentioned comfort factor in that if you can’t read the screen you won’t enjoy it as much.
I tried an Ultra on and its absolutely massive on me as I have 170mm wrists. It wasn't necessarily the lug width but the distance it stands off my wrist that annoyed me. It would stick out of so many of my sleeves and just wouldn't be pleasant to wear. I have ordered a 46mm Series 10 and coming from a 41mm watch. Not sure if I'll keep it but worth a try as I fancied a bigger screen.
I’ve had 2 SS Apple Watches, one a series 6 and a series 7. I’ve also had two 1st gen ultras, and currently on the 2nd one. I love the look of the SS watch but prefer the battery life of the Ultra. So I took a dremel, some mother aluminum polish and went to work. Now I have an Apple Watch Ultra that’s just as shiny as an SS Apple Watch.
What is the link for your video sharing the most important apps to use on an apple watch? You mention it as the end of this video but I cannot find it. I am very interested in knowing how to take advantage of my new apple watch. Thank you!
Thank you for a very informative video. I'm definitely on the fence. The Ultra 2 is not uncomfortable & looks very cool. The Series 9 feels so very comfortable as soon as I put it on......but I like its look slightly less.
I’m not sure if you’ve taken into account old eyes that need bigger font size. Yes the 41 mm and 45 mm show roughly the same amount on the screen, but it appears that the font is bigger on the 45 mm. I am really torn. I like the look of the 41 mm better but 58 years old. I’m worried that I should be going with the watch that gives me the bigger font size.
If it’s just the font size you’re worried about, that’s adjustable on all watches. So if you’re getting the 41/42mm, you can adjust it to show texts as big as what the default font size is on the 45/46mm (but sacrificing some lines of texts)
I’m just really annoyed by the fact that you cannot manage your Apple Watch from a distance. Specially, the ones with cellular, For example today I lost my Apple Watch. It’s either in a bag at home or somewhere at my mums and I tried to use find my, but it’s only showing me the last location of six hours ago. I have no option to make it ring. I have no option to have it ping its location to me and then is something that I find really annoying. How is it in 2024 the most advanced smart watches and you cannot ping their location from a distance. You have to be connected so what if you lost it somewhere and you want to ping it location to know exactly where it is you can’t do that I really don’t understand why they just wouldn’t implement that when I know it’s on charges this morning so I know it has all the battery inside. I know the cellular is on so idk the issue with Find My it’s so pointless sometimes and un advanced. Great video btw I subs 🎉
Jesus, now I'm even more unsure. There's simply no way around the fact that Apple has to bring an awesome upgrade with the Apple Watch X. Or they'll bring out the Ultra 3 as a "mini" too. My 1st Gen SE needs a worthy successor and as a runner I'm really not happy with the battery life and the missing action button. 😂
I had the Apple Watch 41 for 6 years and finally upgraded to 45mm but also to the ultra too. I have both idk which to keep. My wrist is 6 inches. I’m so tiny. I’m so active and I love durable watches. The steel always makes marks. The size …who cares what it looks like. It’s a personal choice. But the weight is a big thing.
I want the battery life of the Ultra in the 41mm. The 49mm ultra looks like a bulbous dinner plate on one's wrist. Everyone isn't into the overly masculine, large size of the ultra. They clearly only designed it for males with small (ahem).
Great comparison video, Saf! I want the Ultra to get off my phone more, but there isn't enough of an upgrade to it this year, so I'll wait a year. Brightness is king for me :)
I'm a huge believer in "Check before you buy", and am lucky to live within 15 minutes of an Apple Store so, when I was looking to get my first Apple Watch last year, I went in and tried all the models, sizes and colours. I'd originally been drawn to a darker colour, but wasn't sure of size. I ended up getting a Nike Series 7 41 in Starlight - didn't need the 8's extra features, but wanted more than what the SE2 had to offer (the Ultra was just too big/expensive). Have to say, I absolutely love it. Thanks for the vid!
The 41mm looks great on your wrist, the ultra looks like a tv screen on your wrist 😄

great review, took me like 30 mins to finally find a good one. all the other ones were annoying honestly
I have thin wrists. I have the 45mm and I learned that I should have went with the 41mm because the 45mm looks like an iPad.
Small wrists get 41mm
So what is your wrist size?
I had the series 5 size 44 since 2020 and just upgraded to the series 9 size 45, love that size and love the watch.

I’m fitness obsessed. I only wear active clothes. I workout everyday and I feel connected to the ultra but the bulk and weight is hard hard to adjust

Wearing a watch is like wearing shoes, it has to be the right size for you
Exactly

good video. keep it coming
Large and heavy watches, its the only ones I'd buy. Wrist size is secondary, its all about the aesthetics.
You own it

3:29 where are those videos from and can they be used as watchface wallpapers?
These aren’t wallpapers sadly. It’s the mindfulness app

The sizes are more comparable to a bracelet than a traditional Watch.
Re wristband: Only Apple would do something this stupid and attach it to something so smart.
The Ultra Device is quite overrated.
44-45 mm is best
