    Good advice bit found it easier to remove seat. Only 4 hex screws holding it in. Saved straining to get battery in and out. Advise you do this if you have a bad back 👍

    What “memory saver device” should I use to store the info the “numerous systems fitted to the vehicle” require power for?

    There are two batteries under the seat in my 2015 Tourneo. Which one is for starting engine? The one towards the front of the car or the one towards the back?

    Flat battery on mine the other day, took 10 minutes with a car revving for it to start. Power pack wouldn't touch it. It seemed to go from fine totally dead in 8 hours. Nothing left on.

    To save the hassle of re programming the radio & also upsetting the engine management system, would it be an idea to put a temporary battery across the Jump start lugs under the bonnet?

    • @HaynesManuals
      @HaynesManuals  2 года назад +1

      Yes, or you could use a memory saver that plugs into a power outlet socket.

    Hi. I have a ford transit 2014, 2.2 lts. Diesel. I tried to remove the battety today to see the model and but it, but I saw 2 batteries. My question is:
    Do I need to change only one and the another is part of the vehicle ?
    Thanks 👍👍👍

      Unless they're in parallel only one, best to test with a multimeter which battery gets more voltage when cat is running. Should go from 12.6ish volts to 13.8 when running. If they're setup in parralel then probably both.

    Now try do the same to the front battery... As I can see it is impossible to change battery nr 2 on my 2012 Ford Transit diesel without removing the driver seat completely. Also all the instructions I find how to get to the battery is wrong.

      @HaynesManuals  3 года назад

      Bear in mind this is for 2013 to 2017 models. It's probably easier to completely remove the drivers seat to get to the front battery - 4 bolts?

      Yes, raise, slide and lean the seat forward and you'll find the battery compartment behind the drivers seat.

      Yeah isn't it crazy. Or battery was flat this morning in our Tourneo. Gone are the days of been able to jump start cars these days. Now it's sat on the drive, unable to take kids to school. Imagine how much two new batteries are for this and the cost of having a mobile machanic out to come and replace them. Happy days eh.

      @@danhamjam Same here. There's a jump lead connector in the engine bay. It's worth taking a look for future reference. the positive is on the right, a small box with a '+' on it, the negative connects to the bolt on the chassis near the positive. I hope that helps.

    You don’t need a memory saving device if you leave the engine running whilst switching the battery .
