This was a great tutorial with clear instructions, clear speech, and right to the point. I hope other creators are taking notes on how a tutorial should be. Some tend to get off topic and talk about irrelevant subjects.
Hey Man, Just wanted to let you know as soon as I typed in changing battery on transit you popped up and I hit your link. much appreciated, spot on with no extra stuff, thank you. I agree, with you Mr. Smith, I just went out and changed the darn thing in the snow and cold. I could think of better spots for a battery!!!
Excellent video. Your step-by-step instructions make this as easy as it can be even though Ford Motor Company made it as complicated as possible. Great job!
Great video. I was able to take the battery out Without removing the bolts for the seats. I just pushed the seat all the way forward and tilted the seat down to the steering wheel. Then unloosened the 2 8mm screws for both the positive and negative. Then took out the plastic bar holding the battery in place. Twisted the battery from vertical to horizontal. Then pulled it out and replaced. Took about 10 min. I can do it in 5 now that i know how. Careful though, the battery is heavy.
@@michaelstadler349 oh ya, I have the work van bulkhead ! I guess I should have mentioned that, lol! Now that I have been in there doing some extra wiring for adding a 700 watt power inverter it does get a little easier but still a heck of a spot for a battery!
I'm sure if you do it everyday, it's probably pretty simple. I spent 2 hours trying to get this battery installed and I still can't get the cover on right so the seat slides. 🙃 next time it's road assistant and someone else can fix it. Thanks for the tutorial.
Is that a special ford battery? Can’t use Walmart battery? I got stuck today, has a battery but no tork tool. Deciding now to carry that battery or just get a long cable jumper
Hi - Thanks for watching! Any answer to your question would be an opinion based on whatever research, if any, was done by someone either here or anywhere. The manufacturers, sellers and users of any battery that is not chosen would naturally be on the defensive and would strongly disagree and try to provide evidence to discredit the researcher and claim that the battery they make, sell or use is the best. Because of this, we suggest that you check out the many opinions that you will find all over the internet and other sources (books and papers on battery technology, specifications, performance, etc.) to arrive at your own best conclusion, which will then be your own opinion. (This reply was not prepared by a lawyer - just someone with more than 1/2 century of practical experience in this automotive industry).
There is a positive under the bonnet (hood) under a red cap, and a ground ring located on the engine block. No need to get to the battery. 👍 This applies to all transit 350 models.
Hi - Thanks for watching and for sharing your opinion. We suggest that you refer to a service/repair manual for your vehicle to get the additional information you need.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! Experience reveals that batteries located inside of the vehicle last much longer that batteries located in the hot, harsh environment under the hood.
Hi. I have a Ford transit van 2014, 2.2 lts. Diesel. I want to replace the battery, but saw today I has 2 batteries. My question is: Do I need change only one and the another is part of the car ? Thanks
It is ridiculous that I need a video to just find the battery.... Ford we need to talk
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
I second that. Just experiencing that now. Have the power seat so that is making it more interesting.

Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
Thank you. Great video. It’s a little ridiculous that it’s that complicated to do something that’s used to take 5 minutes and 3 bolts loosened
Hi - You're welcome. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
One of the best guides I've seen; very clear and concise. Also, that man is a treasure and must be protected at all costs.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your very nice opinion!
Never thought I'd need a tutorial to replace a battery.
The same to me
Thank you for watching and hopefully we could be off assistance.
So spot on, to much work for me, call AAA towing, this is ridiculous, in 5 years you will need to remove steering column

Great video! The Engineers at Ford didn't do anyone any favors on this one! Its a ridiculous place for a battery!
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
For real what a joke
They do it on purpose, they make it so difficult so you take the truck back to the dealer for simple repairs. It’s a con-job.
Just imagine this job if you have a cargo bulkhead. It *can* be done without getting behind the seat, but it's anything but ergonomic.

Hey Ford can you make it a little harder on the next model, keeping the battery under the hood would’ve been way too easy.

Does anyone have specs for the proper battery to reinstall? Would like to have it in hand while going through all this.

Hi - Thanks for watching! According to BCI, this vehicle required a Group 48, 610 CCA battery.
Thanks for your help
Does this battery group 48 take care of a Ford Transit 350 it’s a Thor motor coach ( Gemini ) 2017 sorry for confusion. Typo
What do I do with the fuse cable? It’s a wire with a piece of metal on the end with a hole and a fuse attachment. Where do I connect it?
What's the best strongest battery especially for cold weather conditions

Absolute stupidity.
Loads of room in the engine compartment for a battery.

@@Pastieman71 there are 2 batteries, also they are special batteries for stop / start , they are more expensive than normal one.
I’m in the uk. The two batteries are as follows: the rear of the two powers the engine turn over. The other battery runs all the auxiliaries.
How much that JOB???

IMO, This was such a poor design. Who thought it would be good idea to put the batter under the driver seat??? SMH
