    This makes me really appreciate the battery compartment on my RAM Promaster, easy to open with a penny or small flat head screw driver and plenty of room to work. Not sure why Ford couldn't design a pull out tray or something so that you don't need to remove the seat. Even on the old VW Vanagons, you could slide the seat forward and open the battery compartment door.

    I kept getting a " Charging system service now " warning on the dashboard, and like you said here, I found the earth cable was loose on the pole, luckily it tightened up no problem.

    Another great video on the Transit! Thank you man.
    I just got back from a long trip towing about 4300 lbs for 8hrs. The last leg of the trip I noticed a smell. Investigated further and found steam coming out a vent under the van, under the driver seat area. I think I was boiling a battery! Now I have drained these batteries previously by leaving an inverter on. Im wondering if draining a battery low can damage the battery or do I have a regulator issue.

      That's possible, it could be Battery Post corrosion or Batteries could be close to expiring.

      @@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 i figured it out. i was borrowing a friends trailer and the trailer brakes was having issues. I'm gonna guess a short of some sort was happening at the trailer and did this to my batteries. Everything seems relatively ok with my van. Fingers crossed!

    Hello, and thanks for the video. I would like to have two battery system also. But I’ve been told that this is bad for generator, is this true? Also I would like to connect powerdrive inverter 1500 w, is this possible? And also I’ve been told that for two batteries system I need some kind of relay, do I? Cause I don’t see any in your system! And yes I don’t have any clue in this stuff, so Thanks a lot for help!!

      Are we talking about a Transit HD350 ? If so a 1500w Inverter will work fine in the vehicle. Also an average alternator is more capable of charging two batteries. Just make sure that both batteries are good. If one is lower than the other. That can short the life of the alternator. I hope that help.

      Back track behind yourself and check all battery posts to make sure they are tighten. Those Negative Battery posts can be tricky like in the video.

    Do you have to use both batteries?

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  2 года назад

      Most likely both will be bad due to they depend on each other. You can always do a volt test to each. If they both read below 12.6v. I would replace them both.

    Which battery is the start battery?

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892

      Neither one, they both work parallel together. That's the purpose for the little jump box under the hood.
