question for ya, how are you planning on sealing up the rear electrical so it doesn't get damaged by water/debris? and the rear hatch lid so it doesn't pack up with dirt? and not running a timing belt cover with open wheel wells its a very good way to take out the timing belt. Were you planning on fixing these potential issues or?
Instead of removing rear window and replacing with lexan, you should remove the side windows and make air scoopes. This will force air into the engine bay.
The problem with running the BMW water pump at 100% all the time is the pump will grenade itself. BMW found this out and their solution was the controller. The left the pump alone and programmed the controller so that based on numerous variables (engine load, ambient temperature, even ride height) the pump speed varies. Former European and Import repair technician here.
Truth. This is why BMWs suffer cooling problems in hotter areas. In Germany, their average high temp is like 76-80°F at worst? With 103°F being their record high *ever*. While Texas average high is 96°F, and 120°F as their record high. So BMW service centers in southern states are super busy, where they're much slower in Northern states :D (I worked at Classic BMW in Texas)
And aerodynamics. A full flat undertray is a HUGE benefit on both drag reduction and added downforce, the latter especially if the car has a small amount of rake in the rear.
I was wondering what you were gonna do about engine bay temps. Also I'm impressed that it not only lost weight, but got better weight distribution that's cool. Good job.
I think the weight distribution was the goal since he designed it with a group of dudes in a computer so it kinda w was just gonna be perfect regardless
Great video as always! Just to point out, its not recomended to run that pump 100% I would recomend any dc pwm motor controller and wire that to pin 2 and 3. And just 1 and 4 to power and ground. It wont last that long with it running 100% its really powerful :) Have one of those in my ev build :)
I stopped watching for a few years and then happened to be searching rear wheel drive swaps for 1g\2g DSM's and came upon your new stuff. Huge change from the old content but I love the new direction. Doing everything yourself is really a big selling point to me. Congrats on everything coming together too! I'm sure you'll enjoy every ride, and all of the eyes staring at you when they hear the swap lol. Great work though.
I only found this page because I was looking at videos to refinish the floors in my shop. Stumbled upon the video's of him doing this shop and stayed for the rear engine Eclipse project. Awesome build, great editing and quality. 10/10!
Hey Gin, your content has increased huge the last 8 months. Nice to see you fully exceeding in what your doing. Great build by the way. Its something different most channels like yours, are not doing. Love the work space and the video capture and editting is spot on. Keep it up
You should be proud of yourself mate that’s amazing in such a short period of time I’ve been watching you since the school bud video been watching your ups and downs never missed a video I’m telling you no other RUclipsr is on your level and I watch a lot of RUclipsrs again mate well done 10/10
Gingium. You are a true craftsman. If people haven't said it in the comments below you should feel very proud of yourself. Cars looks sexy and you literally built it from the ground up. Congrats
Love all of your content, it's crazy watching you grow as a fabricator/builder and how professional your work is. For what it's worth, the neon sign's buzzing is pretty audible while you're talking next to the car.
Crazy man! Found your channel randomly when you first got the Eclipse. And this has been a cool little journey! Modding / No Shop Struggles / New shop / Shop Renovating..To this mid engine build. Persistence, Family/Friends and Faith Can conquer All truly! Can’t wait to see where the rest of the Journey leads. Stay Inspired 🦉
I was so excited when I say you post in the Dsm pages, I’ve been following the build, and am working on a 63t build for my mighty max. Always great seeing your videos
Wow I remember a couple of years ago you was a 10k already doing what I thought was cool ass shit now man you’ve really out done yourself I remember commenting how you were going to blow past 100K that summer well deserved man I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeves cause you’ve blow past all my expectations
Lol i always forget i started watching back in Forza days. Hell, i think even before Built v Bought. The progression in build and production quality is insane for such a short time frame. I had my doubts whenever you started working on Molly and the WRX wagon. I did enjoy the variety of content though. Keep going bro. I cant wait to look back after another 5 years and reminisce.
Matco sells a great riv nut gun attachment for any drill well worth it. Very useful when installing step rails and bed rail tie downs on all these Chryslers
I've been watching you since you were doing forza videos trying to see how light the car could be, to see you now and how far you've come had been awesome. You should be very proud of yourself
Nice to see this coming together it exceeds my expectations, this is going to be an awesome car. Are you going to add wheel housings in the rear though in order to protect the engine bay from collecting dirt everywhere?
To sum up the comments...It's awesome! Amazing build. #1 - Remove side windows and install air intakes to help cool the engine. #2 - Front and rear wheel wells to help keep the engine and engine bay clean and debris free. #3 - Undertray for protection. #4 - Roof scoop (again to help with engine cooling). #5 - Vertical 10" (or larger) touchscreen head unit that can monitor car/engine (ie Torque app).
this build will go down as one of the best on yt, when all is said and done. 10 out of 10 for concept, execution and pointlessness in the best kind of way
I was recently made aware of split loom wire cover on a recent project, if you want to take your wiring aesthetics up another notch. Awesome stuff as always, you are one of the only automotive RUclipsrs I watch consistently!
Awesome work. Have really enjoyed watching this series, along with the shop refit and am very envious of the space you have there!! Keep up the great work.....
Hey Caleb, add a spring for the dipstick as they tend to pop out under boost, also the valve cover is magnesium, you can weld aluminum fittings to it but I figured you’d like the info and not be wondering why it’s welding like dog doodoo 😂 keep it up dude!
Looking super good my dood, as cool as a window over the back would be maybe go with a stepped louver like on the Delorean? As I saw it driving down the road the image of a black louver covering the back came to mind, I think that would look sick! Whatever you go with the build is sick! Keep it up
The "water-oil" cooler isn't for cooling the oil, but it's a heat-exchanger to make the oil heat up with the water. You don't want one colder then the other with the channels being close to each other. That'll crack the channels. Smart and usefull stuff.
A few things I'd like to see done before the build is finished, there really should be a controller for that BMW pump, they're known to grenade if run at 100% all the time. As well, wheel wells and a floor would be good for keeping the engine bay clean.
I feel like the algorithm has really been suppressing your content recently. You are getting such low views with high quality content, consistent uploads, and lots of subs
I also would close the gap in the floor behind the engine and also in the front underneath the fuel cell and battery. You will avoid that air get's stuck in both cavities and slows it down. Guide the air of the intercooler down (or better up through the hood) and seal off the rest of the underbody.
Hey make sure you let your o2 sensor heat up before you crank it - if you don’t you run a higher risk of getting condensation in the sensor and fouling it

Are you going to seal up the wheel wells and engine bay to keep out road debris?
Build a custom Caterham.
Does the vacuum hose for the brake booster have an one way check valve in it?
question for ya, how are you planning on sealing up the rear electrical so it doesn't get damaged by water/debris? and the rear hatch lid so it doesn't pack up with dirt? and not running a timing belt cover with open wheel wells its a very good way to take out the timing belt. Were you planning on fixing these potential issues or?
Instead of removing rear window and replacing with lexan, you should remove the side windows and make air scoopes. This will force air into the engine bay.
He should do both.
Air needs to get out too
I second this
Both is better
That's a good idea, would like to see that
The problem with running the BMW water pump at 100% all the time is the pump will grenade itself. BMW found this out and their solution was the controller. The left the pump alone and programmed the controller so that based on numerous variables (engine load, ambient temperature, even ride height) the pump speed varies. Former European and Import repair technician here.
Here’s to hoping that he doesn’t find it the hard way

Maybe the fact this one is a mishimoto upgraded unit will help...
Rear wheel wells would be very helpful to keep the engine bay clean.
I love it! Just needs an undertray to help with rocks. I'd hate for the oil pan to be pierced 😬
And aerodynamics. A full flat undertray is a HUGE benefit on both drag reduction and added downforce, the latter especially if the car has a small amount of rake in the rear.
also wheel wells.
Most car don't have full undertray
You should add some functional roof scoops for the engine bay! That'd be SICK and would totally fit the style of this build!
been saying this the last 3-4 videos, glad to see someone else say it too!!
Love seeing the eclipse coming together. Good work my dude!
Thank you!
I was wondering what you were gonna do about engine bay temps. Also I'm impressed that it not only lost weight, but got better weight distribution that's cool. Good job.
Been asking that question on every single video
I think the weight distribution was the goal since he designed it with a group of dudes in a computer so it kinda w was just gonna be perfect regardless
The yoga mat actually ended up looking sick as a gasket. This this is wild awesome man!
What about undercarriage protection? the sills are full of rust raids, the factory protection itself on the floor does not look very good either
Pretty sure he’s doing a full paint job at some point
Let him finish the build dude
a TON of stuff needs painted still, highly doubt he'll let it all go to rust up in a month.
@@chadmithoff3110 finish build ok... but those are things that should be done first, or at the same time with chassis fabrication...
@@aaabbb9953 he stated multiple time they are building it and tuning, then taking everything apart again to finish up that stuff
This is amazing work! So happy to see you enjoying it. I bet it's going to be a hard time giving it away. Keep up the awesome work👌
Definitely, but I'm excited to see someone else enjoy this car too!
Great video as always!

@gingium
Im happy to help with what you can use and how to wire it :)
Can we get an update on your 350z please ? 🤣🤘🏽
@@cheesepizza87 yeah, i should do that 🤣 havnt filmed for a long while but should do something. Soon ready for first "start up" :)

Ginguim's (his production team) is a Beast at this beats & video shlit. And his work habbits don't irritated me. Clean
This is great! The smile on ur face when u hit the gas says it all!
Another insane project finished, your amazing work just never ends man I swear. Big congrats from a random guy here in Europe.
incredible build man, seriously some top notch stuff. it's gonna look so sick when it's all painted in the bay.
Thank you dude! Paint starts this week!
Damn that’s a clean eclipse. Good job!

I found his channel searching for Forza tunes years ago too. Watching him grow and learn has been pretty cool. Remember when he had hair lol
Just leaving this here to say we appreciate the slow panning time lapse shots. Looking pretty sick 👌
Matco sells a great riv nut gun attachment for any drill well worth it. Very useful when installing step rails and bed rail tie downs on all these Chryslers
Horizontal slats on the rear window would look really sweet
Love how the measured caffeine levels, was with monsters
Ok now this is exciting. Good stuff. Congrats Caleb
Man.. I always thought turbo charged FWD cars where a waste of resources till you did this. This is amazing.
This is hands down the coolest project car on RUclips right now. I really wish it was getting the exposure it deserves.
It’s not lost on me the amount of time, research, planning, and iteration it must take to make mid engine swapping a car look this easy. Keep rockin!
Congrats on the milestone, bet it feels great.
Feels great! Wish I didn't have to tear everything down for paint now :(
Great job Caleb. Always nice when the car behaves better than expected
50/50 might be ideal 'perfect' handling but rear bias is faster and more fun
Every time you post I like the channel more and more keep up the great work.
1G DSM was my first car, haven't seen one in a long time. Would be awesome to look at this thing every day.
LOVE seeing you go through the electrical and wiring process. I'm going through the same thing currently and it's not normally my favorite thing lol
Yo my good man, this has been very much one of my favourite builds so far and I can’t wait to see you fully sending this little weapon 👌🏻
Replace the rear quarter windows with scoops to get even more cool air in the back? It would be functional AND look sick.
Air scoops wich come out when the engine needs more air. Like the ones from the lambo murcielago
I've been watching you since you were doing forza videos trying to see how light the car could be, to see you now and how far you've come had been awesome. You should be very proud of yourself
You don’t understand how happy and excited I am to see this thing running on its own power
Nice to see this coming together it exceeds my expectations, this is going to be an awesome car. Are you going to add wheel housings in the rear though in order to protect the engine bay from collecting dirt everywhere?
Hey dude. You are killing it. Love the content! Great work on this one. I’d like to see a shake down on a twisty road.
To sum up the comments...It's awesome! Amazing build.

love the work, as usual.
A+ on the ingenuity of using a yoga matt for the window gasket I don't think I woulda thought of that lol
Amazing, finally an Eclipse worth driving
that is amazing suuper special, from blue miata in the driveway to building this. proud man
Amazing to see it driving! Awesome to see how efficient you’ve becoMe in the new shop with all the new tools and machines.
So cool! Well done mate 👍🏼
I think this is by far the most interesting build on RUclips.
That part when you cleaned the center console was clean af
Wish this thing had a functional roof scoop! Awesome to see it moving and driving smooth 🎉
Easily the most interesting build on RUclips right now
You know it's a good day when Gingium uploads a video. Keep up the good work : )
I have been WAITING for this video to come out since you posted it on your Instagram. It looks so sick driving on the road fr
Letttttssss goooooo!!!!!! Probably one of the best fab builds on RUclips
Can't wait to see, and hear, full rips!
I love it! As there is quite alot of space left behind the engine, you could make like a trunk thing so you could fit some stuff back there.
You should be proud of yourself, this is a huge accomplishment!
I went to high school where you are. Don't worry, I'm not gonna give you any simply safe content. Keep killin it man.

Awesome job Gingium!! This thing is amazing!
The eclipse is looking amazing bro!!!!
another great build added to your resume
I like that the x bar is bolt in. That's a smart idea
This is really amazing thank you for your great work

I agree you should go for side scoops. Side scoops are badass. Really cool build, hope it gets a floor as well?
Consider removing the back side glass and getting intake scoops from a MR2 for both sides would look really sick
This thing is insane ! Cant wait for the Dyno vid.
Was waiting for this vid patiently refreshing every 10 mins... ;P
Are you planning to do rear fender liners, some plates to protect the wiring from rocks underneath, and maybe a flat bottom cover for the rear?
I was a dsm guy for years I had to watch this one
