lol, they wouldnt call it a 5 series GT if it wasnt a 5 series.... it still counts as one just with a bigger trunk. And actually if you compare an x6 to this they look pretty similar
BMW 4 Life it’s a 5 series, it’s called the 5 series GT for a reason.... and as for the skid testing it proves how dangerous BMW’s are in the snow or ice. They lose traction too damn easily. Ours skid while Turning onto a road and it was fine for all the other fwd cars we did the same journey in but out own car skidded. Never do it unless it’s 4wd 😂
The Pontiac Aztek of BMW. But really, common folk take for granted what it takes to build a modern car. Always complaining about every little thing, why this and that failed and so on. The car is the single most complex piece of machinery a normal person will ever own. We sure are an odd bunch.
it's the manufacturer's job to make sure that the product they ship is flawless, which they also guarantee. if they can't do that, it's their problem as a manufacturer, not mine as a customer. we're not an odd bunch just because we demand what we paid for. and i highly doubt cars are the single most complex piece of machinery a normal person will ever own. mechanics are a pretty straight-forward concept, the manner of functioning can easily be illustrated in short videos, things like lever rule are tangible, whereas informatics and microprocessing (computers) aren't as easily explained or tangible.
How is this comment two years old and only has 23 likes? I warned a young prissy girl in my family that BMW was trash. She wouldn't listen. Got one from a stealership and it only made it a few weeks before the oil pump failed and she kept going until it self destructed. She asked me to fix it and I just told her to go back in time and buy a Honda.
coolant issues arent that bad and neither are oil leaks if u fix em when they start. the 3.0l gas engine (n52 n54 m52 m54) are great engines esp paired with the bulletproof zf6hp auto or a 6sp manual.
I wonder how the Pontiac Grand Prix past testing when they put the intake scoop right under the bumper if they take it to the big old puddles like that I'm talking an older model 2
Not sure what looks worse - the gt with the plastic panels on looking like a cucked Bentayga or the finished product - raised prius with an elongated(compensating) hood.
No matter how much testing is done before final production: consumers will never be guaranteed that the new car they take delivery on (at whatever the cost) will not have an annoying rattle or squeak in the dashboard. Car designers will never reach that point.
Amazing to see that after so many tests users are still facing so frequently some technical issues. Too short testing period or materials poor quality not able to stand long usage time?
Why do you ask this? If you was working for BMW you should also know the answer :P Offcourse they look the same, because its a family face. Its all about the details. Look at Audi, they do the same, and that's why they are selling such a lot of cars
All this testing and they still run plastic fittings for there oil and coolant lines. I’ve changed so many oil lines. Get rid of the plastic in the engine compartment and components then the vehicle will be so much better.
In a world filled with fake stunts and pretentious happiness I find watching this plain professional testing incredibly satisfying.
1st time in my life that I've seen a BMW indicator working
Slaaibak it’s a new car))
I think you're missing the joke.
me to and i drive one :O
Slaaibak wait they have indicators? I thought bmw don’t put them in the cars.
It was for research reasons...
That guy doing skids on ice. Best job ever!
My thoughts exactly!

5:39 the car looks like a bentley
ZUL_RB26 R34 and the back Look like a Ferrari lol
I would rather say it looks like Rover 75 in front and a Holden Monaro in the back xD
En calidad de fabricación poco le tiene que envidiar a un Bentley.
14:20 He's trying so hard to contain his excitement at just how engaging the car is to drive.
xd
All this testing and they still can't fix the oil leaks and water pump failures BMWs are notorious for

Are they blowing air through the hood to keep water form coming to the engine bay??
i wonder if the plastic bits break after a few years and the battery goes flat aftet a few days - like my three BMWs
The car works amazing
Gariūnų tiuningistai! :)
i love my bmw :)
Nice one!
This is so satisfying to watch if only other cars get tested before production instead of getting recalls
After all, this will still have 25 recalls.
Bon boulot Team BMW 👌

Nice

Car designers will never reach that point.
Dan it's all quality control. Has nothing to do specific with design.
the squeak resolving is covered by the warranty anyway
Have you ever been in a Merc? Or a Bentley? No squeaks or rattles in those for the last decade or more.

Fadi Dan why it would make road trips suck way less if you are the driver
Nice Bentley XD
En México se pueden hacer todas esas pruebas en nuestras calles 🤣
WOOSAH, WOOSAH.. WOOSAH!
I would be very interested in in the data they gathered
I find those tubes attached to the bonnet a bit nauseating. I know they are there for technical reasons.
13:40 "Diagnostic Donuts lol"
5 series hatchback.this will be much better than end result
isnt this the 6 series gran turismo? the 5 series gt doesnt exist anymore right?
Amazing to see that after so many tests users are still facing so frequently some technical issues. Too short testing period or materials poor quality not able to stand long usage time?
Not bad anymore, now it's the American cars trying to be high-tech having all the issues. Try buying a 60k Ford, in the shop more than anything!
8:10 ah this is where they perfect blinding drivers in on coming traffic
Ah Mal wieder Bertrandt. Outgesourctes Lohndumping^^

lemster101 was wandering the same so I checked the plates: South Africa.
Thanks for finding out!
The 6 GT exists though ? ? ?
I agree to work for bmw as a test driver for food... Please take me 😭
Do more reliability test.
5:43 facelift Bentayga
the gran turismo looks better with the camouflage tbh
Is GT 4x4 then? Mine is not!
Why they camouflage? All bmw series for the last 6 years are look alike....
NGT No they don't it's only the 5 series that looks alike, other BMWs are not even close to looking the same
Harry E46 i was working in bmw for 5 years. All looked alike except the electric cars...
so they can sneak up on the pools of water
Its marketing strategy; to create interest in the car, all manufacturer do that and they end up with same design basically.
Why do you ask this? If you was working for BMW you should also know the answer :P Offcourse they look the same, because its a family face. Its all about the details. Look at Audi, they do the same, and that's why they are selling such a lot of cars

Why is it going through water though?
This is not a pre-production; this is actually how BMWs are actually made. The quality of these vehicles are horrendous.
4:20 the new era of exhausts. The engineers have lost their minds...
they have been doing it since the e36, how come it is new era?
Butterfly flaps, I bet they open up when reving or at high speeds :)
satisfying 2:41
For sale bmw 5 gt, never abused =3
I'd estimate that most BMW's for sale on craigslist need a whole new engine and transmission anyways. That's just a normal 100k mile service.
best job , the car will be scrapped in the end , no worries
