My oldest son and I are HUGE fan! My oldest son and I do these projects together in our "HOT" Florida backyard. We are building our own tropical oasis in a small corner of our backyard using the square fountain as our focal point. I took the your idea and stacked a 2nd square on top, they sit slightly twisted so the lower level helps break up the splash bc I have a little more surface area for the h2O to deal with. We also incorporated some wood as you did, however I used a shaped piece of driftwood (I know I went crazy, but it looks amazing) and when the light hits it at night the perspective is 💯. Thanks for all you do, you are a huge inspiration to us "weekend warriors". 💯
Thank you for the note, I’m building a new Villa and going to use your fountain in front yard (3’) one? Will send you pics after build end Sept. This ia awesome and creative!
You could make the bottom out of straight cement with maybe a rebar for added weight and the sides and top out of hypertufa, which is cement mixed with peat moss. That would make them a lot lighter than the base and not so easy to knock over, so safer.
Have you thought about using a storage container with a lid as a reservoir for the water and pump? I saw someone else use this technique, then I came across your video. I think I will combine the two techniques to get the look I want.
Love the idea of solar. But, I would need a battery as a middle man to keep it running a few hours because it would not be able to run in the evening when I’m off work and able to enjoy some peace and quiet.
@1:45 -- ya know, when ever I am out doing landscaping tasks, my go to PPE is a spotless pair of nike runners, untied, just because I am one crazy arse shining diamond!
Lol yea I own a lot of Nike Running shoes from all my years as an athlete and when they get to worn for running I retire them for my yard work. That blue pair is like 4 years old :) they’re comfy! Lol
Awesome video do you know of a solar pump that has a battery to it? Would prefer to have water feature run at night. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Another excellent video mate! Subscribed to your channel and watched this via your other video testing the pumps.. great short, to the point videos! Like your style of video pal.. just a thought wonder if it would look good painted white or off white? Make it stand out more? Well done on the project and cheers from London England 👍😎🏴
That will be an absolute nightmare to get to the pump when there is a problem with it. However, I do like the square fountain. No matter what the probability that something will bump it, that heavy cement fountain needs to be secured so it cannot fall.
I don't think those were cinder blocks, since they haven't been produced for decades. They're now made out of concrete. Also, 4x6 isn't square. I do love the final product.
4x6 was a reference to the area I made the fountain in. The fountain itself is a 2’x2’ square. I didn’t know that about cinder blocks I’ve just always heard people call that type of block cinder block. Glad you like it!
Yeah. There are a whole lot of exciting videos of people building stuff with that kind of pump... but I notice there's NEVER a follow-up video a year later showing that it still works. Maybe there are some out there but I just haven't found them. Call me stubborn but I flat refuse to buy hardware unless I'm confident it's going to last at least a couple years. And I have had very little encouragement in that regard about small solar water pumps, unfortunately.
Awesome and surprisingly simple design. Also love the solar panel upgrade. Very inspiring.
Plastic container lid is an excellent idea.
That's really cool, the pump looks surprisingly strong for being solar powered.
I thought so too!
Could you give me the make and model of the solar pump and panel please? Apologies if you have already

That’s so awesome! I’d love to see what you’ve made if you wanna send pics of it to my email. Thanks for watching! Tell your son I said hi 👋🏽
@@travisjantzer I will. We are in the Florida Keys for a few weeks but I can send a pic when we return. Thanks for the reply.
Great idea! Your water fountain looks great. I will try to make one. Thank you for this video.
sure thing! let me know how it goes.
Looking forward to an update/review video on these water features. Like in a year, see how they blended in.
For sure!

I want to make one to diminish the noises of cars 👍

i'll look into that.
Thanks Travis, this video has given me some great ideas!!!!
I'm glad! let me know if you make anything cool.
Awesome project! Thanks for sharing and you have another subscriber! 🙂 Cheers

I'm thinking of doing the same. My only concern is if the container will be able to hold the weight of the concrete square.
Tamper and some skreed would benefit the long term stability of the cinder blocks.
Yet another awesome and useful video. Thank you!
Travis, what tools do l need to create a meter length stream.
My goal is to make a 5ft high one of these!
Well done! Thank you
Great job! Love this look! I’m wanting a stacked pot fountain, 3-4 pots emptied into a large bowl. IhVe 2 places for it in the back yard.
oh yea? that's cool.
Excellent. What thickness pond liner do you recommend...and does it rip easily? Im thinking of doing something like a mini pond in my backyard.
Awesome video, does the water ever dry?
Thanks for Your inspiration great job
Thank yOu
Nice
thanks
I garden at night time. It gets 100+ degrees with 80% humidity during summer days
oh really? I hate humidity.
@@travisjantzer yea I live in south GA, almost in Florida, August is horrible
me! me! I garden at night lol! It's too hot here in Texas during the day for me.
See, thats why I Don't live in Texas. haha

Yea i need to check out some solar pumps with batteries. They would definitely be preferred

Hello where did you got the tubing and name or size please. Thank you
What do you treat the fountain with
That’s awesome

I dont but i'm looking into it.
Following as I need one to run at night also
Great job!
Thanks!
well done
thanks
What in the WORLD are those flower thingys there. Never saw them before.
Could you put this in a pan(like what is used under water heaters) somehow without being in the dirt? Like on a patio?
water heater pan is too shallow. You could use some other kind of tub though. Like a wine barrel or something.
what is growing behind you? they look beautiful
Kniphofia! They are beautiful!
Where did you get the square concrete fountain piece?
I made it.
Sorry, Travis, but which one is the inexpensive pump that you had liked? This link is for an $85 pump. Thanks!!!:)
Hey great videos quick question have u ever done a paver brick tower fountain I m trying to send a picture but I dont know how .
I have not made one it sounds interesting
Good work! Do did build this frame for the waterfall?
Thanks! Yea the concrete square? I made it myself in a mold. I have a video about that mold on my channel.
@@travisjantzer I found, thanks
You could run the solar panel to a battery pack and the battery pack to the pump, thus it would run when it's shady. Slightly more expensive though.
That solar pump isnt set up for batteries. But other types are.
Awesome

Awesome, thank you! I'm sure you could paint it yea. I hadn't thought of that. It would be interesting. Cheers from Oregon USA :)
Do you have problems with algae growth in a set-up like this?
Yes but I have found some pond chemicals that keep it really clean and are not harmful to other plants.
Love it!
I'm glad!

its only 18" tall. Getting to the pump isn't too difficult. but I see what you mean
Wheres the square fountain making link???
Just added it to the description but here! ruclips.net/video/GPhFZXCj8Ak/видео.html
Ps. The one i used for the solar pump is only 2’ tall and 4 inches thick.
Pro stats bro!
Thanks man the one I want is 650 and it's half price 😫
do you happen to sell these? lol
no sorry
niceeeee
Legit bro!
Imagine being this cute and this nice 🤯😍
I’m married sorry lol

Am a carpenter never seen anyone use a square as a level
It’s both. It has a level on one end. Look closer.
Good videos, you made me laugh every time you said , ‘ my hole ‘
Glad you enjoyed 'my hole' haha
PROBLEM IS the pump might not last according to some of the reviews and there not cheap. The plugin is more reliable.
Likely true but thats what I'll find out.
