Rather than letting your foam harden then cutting the excess, throw smaller gravel on it while the foam is half set. This allows you to flatten out the bulges of foam (eliminating the hassle and risk of cutting) and the pebbles/gravel stick and won't wash away with the water flow. That is what I did on my creek water feature anyway.

I use expanding can spray foam for all my outdoor projects. Works great to fill gaps and holds things in place very well. Your able to sculpt/mold it and I’ve used it to (make rocks or imposters) when I can’t find one I need. Bonus, it holds paint/stains very well so if it’s the wrong color and visible you can paint/stain it. I do use a clear waterproof deck sealer of flex seal clear spray to prolong the life.

If you just put some pond plants in the water to use up the nutrients in the water it should be fine even without a filter. Raccoons could be problem though. They've come and knocked a bunch of the surrounding plants into my water feature at night lately, and all the soil getting in the water has caused a lot of algae. But that's on me for having all that soil right near the water.

Very awesome that you just overlap multiple narrow liners over each other and it works out just fine as long as it is on a slope. Very cost effective, because if you buy one large liner it's going to be really expensive and have a ton of excess liner on the sides that you don't need. You don't need a big, splashing, multi-level waterfall to have a good water feature, the creek looks great. I love watching the aquascape videos, but like watching do it yourself water features on a budget because it's far more interesting and relatable, because that's what I did myself, and this is probably the best one I've seen.

Love love love it. Man your ideas are soo much more cooler than all the other expensive make overs from the more popular and big named pond people. Like most people with very little money to spare and small gardens or yard space who are sick of watching something that's way more than under £100 to start with . You can add more little by little as you can afford it. Realistically is the beauty of your show mate. Well done.

I love these videos, and you have a real talent for it... The only issues are that liner will cause you problems later... it will not last long and is easy to tear... your best bet is an EPDM liner with a 25+ year warrantee and will last forever when covered from the sun... You should also look into creating filters so your pond stays clean... the top part of the waterfall could be turned into a bog filter pretty easily and getting or building a skimmer at the bottom will help catch debris and keep the pond cleaner... Keep up the awesome videos!!!

This is amazing I am intrested in how you would winterize this sort of river pond for the winter? I live in the north east and would love to try this in my back yard

Looks like the edges are already leaking and I would not use regular home insulation foam- the color is not the only difference. Otherwise, a very cool project!
