      Thank you so much!! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos 🥰 December is one of my favorite times to be there, not only for the holiday goodies but also bc the temps start to back off 😂 The days are tolerable in the sun and people seem generally more cheerful. My favorite weeks to go are the first and second week of December. It’s right in between the thanksgiving surge and the Christmas break madness. However, if you want to see the exclusive party parade and snow on main street without buying the additional party tickets you can plan for the week of Christmas. Crowds will definitely be higher but you’ll get those experiences during the normal hours.

      Thank you so much! What a sweet compliment! We were in the same boat several years ago. We were completely clueless about ANY military advantages. Once we booked a few trips at SOG we were hooked and made it our goal to share these benefits. Its too good not to endorse for other military families. We still sneak in a few "fancy" trips here and there at some of the other resorts but for the price and community at SOG it allows us to visit more often. But thank you again for the kind words! I hope you have fun navigating our videos...theres quite a few we have in our vault now that should help you make your decisions. Enjoy!

    Excellent video. SOG should really have you both on staff as paid ambassadors or something that allows you to work remotely. You're really providing an excellent service with your vids as if you were working at one of the family support centers on base. I knew about shades but have learned a lot here. I wonder if you and Tim have any dining recommendations outside of Disney, in the Orlando area?

      We are happy to help! We enjoy making these videos and sharing our adventures at the same time ☺️ You all support us enough just by watching so thank you! As far as dining outside of Disney…we will have to explore that a little more. When we come to town we are always so full from Disney meals 😂 But I will say that I love anything Mexican and one of my favorite places to grab tacos from (besides Evergreens) is Tijuana Flats. Since we don’t have one of those in Charleston I try to make it a point to go there when we can :) I’ve also watched other vloggers boast about places like Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria in Bonnet Creek (looks delicious and beautiful but pricey) Honestly there are SO many amazing places to try at Disney Springs too so you don’t have to look far for good food!

    Love your videos 🥰. Do the advanced salute tickets come already activated. When I buy them from my local MWR I still have to go to TTC and activate them?

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  6 месяцев назад +1

      When you purchase advance tickets through Shades of Green they will be activated/verified and ready to use! If you choose to purchase your tickets on base they’ll tell you they’re “activated” but you will still need to stop by guest services or a ticket counter before you scan into a park so they can verify your eligibility. Once you do that then your tickets will be ready to use. I’ll add that if you decide to get the military priced memory maker you’ll have to go to the same counter to have that added. I hope that makes sense! Just sharing so you can plan accordingly 😊

    Great information! Do I need to add the other water park tickets to the Advance Ticket Form Request when purchasing the 5 Day Park Hopper Plus? Or do I purchase those when I get there?

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  6 месяцев назад +1

      Not necessary! When you purchase the “plus” tickets they will be included on your ticket. So when you link your purchased ticket to your MDE account you’ll just go to the water parks and scan in with your ticket (or magic band or card etc) No need for water park reservations or separate tickets…it’s all linked 🙌🏼 So if you have the 5 day ticket you’ll get 5 entries to the theme parks and 5 separate entries to the water parks (or mini golf) Such a great deal! Have fun!

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  5 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome! With a disability rating and a relative valid ID your dad is able to book at SOG any time of the year and sponsor his guests at the resort. I've been asked a few times for an eligibility video so I think I need to bite the bullet and make one lol I'll admit, it will be an undertaking because there are SO many variances that I would want to cover, which could potentially make it a very long video. But I understand the need for it and appreciate you asking! I will work on organizing a video on the topic :) Until then, you can read more about it here on the SOG website if you haven't already:

    How does the meal plan work if we decide to purchase that? Im guessing they don’t honor the meal plan at SOG? Do we have to purchase magic bands separately since shades of green doesn’t provide these upon booking? Thanks!

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  Месяц назад +1

      You’re correct…The Disney dining plan isn’t offered through Shades of Green bc the resort is owned by the DoD. That being said, they don’t accept the plan either if you stay at a Disney resort and stop by shades to eat at the restaurants. Magic bands can be purchased online or you can wait until you arrive in Orlando for a bigger selection in the parks or at Disney Springs. There’s really no major advantage to having them early besides being able to set them up in advance. That can be done when you get there 😁 Also, just want to note that the Magic bands do not work at Shades of Green for the reasons mentioned above. You can still use them in the parks, just not at Shades 😊

    How do I add genie plus and military priced memory maker to the promotional tickets?

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  6 месяцев назад +2

      Those are two things that you will add once you get to the parks. The military priced memory maker can be purchased at ticket counters and at Disney springs. You can even add it at the end of your trip and it will capture all of the pictures you took during your time inside the parks. Genie + can be purchased through the MDE (My Disney Experience) App at midnight the night before you scan into your park. So for example, if you were going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow you could purchase genie + as early as midnight tonight. That’s not necessary though if you don’t want to stay up that late…you can just make sure it’s purchased before 7am if you’re trying to get your lightning lanes for things like Tron. I’ll try to do another video to walk through all of this but I hope that brief explanation helps temporarily!

      I would let them know to add it in your notes on file. You can call to have them do that or just let them know when you check in. Its helpful for hotels to have every guest accounted for in case of emergencies. As long as you don't go over the rooms guest capacity it won't make a difference on your bill.

    Thank you for this video, it's very informative. I'm a veteran and am eligible to stay at Shades of Green. My friend and I are looking to go to Disney World in 2027. While that's over three away, I've been checking the website for what the ballpark range of prices. So far the week we want to go it's either all booked up, or it's blackout dates. We're trying to go early December, would be it better to call SOG, and how far do we need to try to book? We are trying to stay for a full week. My apologies for the length of this.

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  22 дня назад +1

      No worries at all! Its good to start looking into your options early too. For SOG you'll only be able to book as far out as 365 days, so one full year from the date you're looking into checking in. Black out dates for the promotional tickets usually start at the end of December so if you're wanting to go early in the month you should still be fine. Keep in mind that the prices for the rooms will increase every October 1. If you are wanting a standard room the increase is usually only a few dollars but the suites can increase by more. Currently the standard rooms are $174 for lowest tier ranks (E1-E6). Ill link the pricing here for you to get an idea of what to budget. I hope this helps get you started!

    We're going from Feb 4th - 9th. I've seen the forecasts and it shows lows in the 50s and highs in the high 70s. I've only ever been to central Florida in summer months. How long does it stay chilly in the morning and how early does it start to get chilly in the evenings?

    • @battlegroundbiscuits
      @battlegroundbiscuits  7 месяцев назад +4

      If we were going that week I’d pack lots of leggings, tshirts and hoodies. Before the sun comes up you’ll probably want a hoodie but an hour or so after that a T-shirt will be plenty. I also wear the spirit jerseys in the morning and then push the sleeves up as it gets warmer. And as for the evening, same deal…when the sun starts going down it starts to get chilly. I’d say after 6pm it might start to cool down. Of course if you’re doing a lot of walking that keeps you warmer too. Obviously everyone has different comfort levels but I hope that kind of gives some insight!
