- With not much rain in the forcaste, steelhead fishing is much harder to get the new fresh one from the lake. My channel specifically fishes steelhead with modified crappy tube. I still can catch the one here and one there, ut I want to catch more steelhead. I went to different places trying to catch steelhead, but it was no luck on my side due to muddy water or rain. I was at pipes on Saturday and no luck but I'll keep trying . Nice catches
I fished the pipes in the past videos because they said there is no fish there. I said there are steelheads hidding on the certain spots. I one day missed 6 bobber down and landed two and lost one. I than gave the spot to another guys. I was there Sunday with Nephews. I went to Elk Creek on Saturday. My nephew caught one on the first cast. That was it. Water is murky and strong. thx u
I think I need to start out deeper over there and then work my way shallower. I might try a double tube rig as well

I set it up from the float down to the hook depends on where I fish. If I tell you to set 4'5" from the float down to the hook, that is not good because everywhere you fish, the bottom structures can be shallow or deep. So adjust the depth if you think you set it up too low or high. The best way to catch fish is suspend your bait all the times. If you let it sink to the bottom, some fish might not see it. Suspending the bait is the best ways to nail them. thx u
If you want to catch more you need to scale down in clear water. Fresh spawn sacs fished with a size 12 to 14 hook on leaders of 4 lb or under 3 to 8 grm floats and 6 lb mainline. More clear the water smaller and more natural bags dirtier brighter and bigger. Let the float drift naturally and you cant ne beat
I fished Rocky River for 32 years. There were taught days and good days for the past 31 years. I did not see many differences between the smaller line and bigger line from 4 to 6lbs line n my 10lbs line. I also fish Elk Creek too in the past few months. I saw people used smaller line than my line. I used 10lbs. I did not see people did better than 10lbs with 1/8 jig head and modified crappy tube. Some caught nothing fishing for 4 to 5 hours. Here the facts about steelhead fishing. Steelhead don't know how big the line or how small the baits r? If you fish in the pool full of hungry steelheads, you will get them. If you fish in the pool full of the ones that don't care what u used, they don't bite. If they are hungry, they will bite, and it does not matter how the big line or baits are? They said steelheads don't bite bigger eggs 9spawn sack, watch the video when I used bigger big spawn sack. If steelheads like only smaller size baits, how come people caught them on crankbaits and Rapala, and another baits. If they are hungry, they will bite
