I never knew Ohio was so beautiful,,the rich, oldness of the town there is amazing. They have kept these towns restored very well.Thank you for sharing, worth going to see in the near future.
Who needs the ocean when you have the Great Lakes? Precisely! It’s all I will ever need. Love the Marblehead area especially. We visit nearly every year. We missed it this year so your video was appreciated.
Awesome stuff!!! My Dad was born and raised in Marblehead on Prairie Street! He's 91 years old now. We went to Marblehead/Lakeside virtually every summer after moving from that area in the early 1960's. My Mom was raised in Lakeside on Lynn Street. Wonderfull area where time seemed to stand still for decades. Great stuff!! Thanks Russ!
I absolutely adorable historical architecture as it makes a town feel more homey and welcoming. Time to sit awhile chitchatting with locals learning of town’s history. 🇺🇸
Been riding with you for Awhile now. Nice to Enjoy the trio while Resting in my recliner. Love hiw you talk to your followers while Driving. Are you travell Ing alone?
I sometimes watch Korean American truckers traveling throughout the States. That may lead me to your channel. Really enjoying watching, listening to your story and seeing great landscapes. Many thanks indeed. From a subscriber in Seoul, South Korea.
Hi, Russ, Ohioian here. We visit Kelley’s Island, Marblehead, P. C., Lakeside, PIB annually. You can go up into the lighthouse for a small fee. It may be weekends only. Sorry you missed it! Thanks for sharing!
🙋♀Hello Russ! I enjoyed the aerial views looking out over the lake, seeing the welcoming campgrounds. The ride through Ohio to Elkhart, Indiana was wonderful. Enjoyed seeing the RV museum. Fantastic video!👍
Lake Erie gets hammered in the winter. Best time to be there is summer and early fall. May God have mercy on you if you're there in the winter. Originally from upstate NY, I know.
I’m so glad you stopped at East Harbor State Park! That one of if not my favorite place in Ohio. I love camping there. We go stay there and then go hang out in Marblehead. Then usually take the ferry over to Put in Bay for a day. That whole area is like a different world compared to the rest of Ohio. It feels like a beach town on the eastern seaboard. Which is an extremely pleasant change of pace to normal ohio.
Hi Russ, If you ever get a chance to make it back to NW Ohio and Marblehead area, they do offer tour of the lighthouse. Also, the road that you traveled to get to the lighthouse, there is a little-known piece of Ohio history called Johnson's Island. It is a former Civil War prison site that now has a confederate cemetery. Not sure if it is something of interest to you or not but it is rather neat to see. All kinds of great backroad history towns here. Archbold has Sauder Village, Bryan has Spangler Candy company, the maker of DumDum suckers. Great food all around the area too.
Funny how the last lake havasu video of you out on the island you were next to the vermillion lighthouse replica and in this video you actually were at the real one. Too cool for school 😊
East Harbor has a free park area with swim beach for the campers or anyone to spend the hot days of summer in the cool, shallow area. It is the area to the left where you turned right. The four rock walls were in one section of the swim beach which goes on and on. I just walked it one day and watched people of all ages enjoying the fun in the sun.
Love my home state. I'm going home and will be in Holmes County for a visit. Then Port Clinton, which is my hometown. Lake Erie is the attraction there.
Yes, Lake Erie is the shallowest lake of the Great Lakes. On an average it is only 62 feet & only 30 feet deep on the Western Basin. It has a place near Canada 210 feet deep, but not normal. Put you on hold while I checked depths of the Lakes so I could finish my story! Love your videos!!!!! Judie
I love watching your travel videos. I don't get out to travel too much anymore so I enjoy seeing all the places that you visit. Thanks for sharing. (New Subbie)😀
One of the Great Lakes is relatively shallow...ie. they had to dig a canal through for the "big boats" to go through (from port to port) with cargo, because the lake is so shallow the big boats could not go through.....I think it was Lake Erie. Not sure which one, but I will be checking the internet to see which one it is. Right now I am watching you & I'm not going to stop until this video of yours is finished. HAPPY EASTER, & have a great trip! LOL, Judie Cedar Point has a ride called "The Demon Drop". I sure would never ride on it, but my husband & I stood there for over an hour watching people getting off the ride. The ride scared people so bad (girls mostly) that they were crying or so pale, they looked like ghosts! We did ride the roller coaster & it was darn scary! I was brave enough that I didn't scream, but my husband did!
Love this video. I'm from the Buckeye state many yrs ago. Have never seen the Lake area so thanks so much for the tour! The sky when you came out of the RV library was Stupendous.. beautiful mural. Must watch this a 2nd time. Happy Trails from NM
Thanks from toledo Ohio so much unknown history and sites here the islands in the western Bay is where the War of 1812 was bought at near Put-in-Bay. Also besides walleye the birding here is a big tourist thing in Ottawa County
All the little Ohio towns and cities West of Cleveland to Lakeside.I went to EHOVE Vocational School in Milan Ohio with a bunch of people from these areas. It's been almost fifty years since we all graduated in 81 and moved to Florida and back since. I really have seen or heard from or about anyone. Some mighty fine people, makes me wonder how they all are doing.
Absolutely beautiful this is the first drive-through I've seen of the Great lakes area I would like to see more please maybe maine upper United States washington-oregon I've seen Portland thank you fan of channel. Greetings from Palm Beach Florida 🌞
Hi russ great tour back roads an small towns are my favourite way to travel no big cities or freeways its the best way you see the country . Cheers mate 🇦🇺
love your channel !!! was pretty cool seeing you cruise through my hometown of vermilion !! yes it gets cold in the winter but for some reason we dont get much snow accumilation ?? keep on trucking !!!
I live in the Cleveland area. Lot of things about Ohio are quite flat and boring, but can't deny the beauty of the endless rolling countryside. Man the winter sucks so bad though. Basically 6 months of your life out of the year is simply half the quality because of the winter, cold weather, and the time change causing it to get dark before 6 PM and even around 5PM for a good part of the year.
When you shot the video of the places in Ohio along the shores of Lake Erie, you had some unusual weather in that the winds and water were so calm. That is so unusual. It seems that most of the time, the winds blow hard and the Lake has a chop on it. Lake Erie can be really rough and that it's so shallow in most places, the wind makes the seas, rough with a sharp chop. The lake can also go from being mild and calm to downright dangerous when a sudden summer storm churns it up. The last time I visited the Marblehead Lighthouse park, it was a bright sunny day and the park was packed full of people. You should have done an online search to find a good local restaurant serving both Perch and Walleye, two Lake Erie food specialties. I enjoyed the trip with you. The RV museum was interesting if only to see those examples of early RVs. Some of those br😢ing back memories.
Watching your film driving through ohio,no severe weather here, mild, maybe 2 or 3 weeks where its too hot. That's it,mild winters, couple heavy snow falls in Jan .or Feb
also, there’s a place called Grosse Ile. It’s an island out in lake area as well. A few thousand people live on it they have a very small airport one of the finest country clubs, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicholson I have played there. If you look at the island from the sky, wow wow wow. Unreal just thought you might like to take a look at it. Thanks for everything grateful.
hello, I watch your RUclips videos all the time. I was watching this one in particular and I have been to KELLY‘s island. Several times probably will never go again now, but anyway, there’s another island out there. It’s called Puttin ‘ Bay. Matthew McConaughey was a frequent visitor there in the summer. You should take a look at that place Anyway, thank you for all of your traveling advice. Forever grateful. Thank you again.
It's called South Basd Island, Put-In Bay, and features Perry's Monuent. Tons of history there. I'm surprised that this video pretty much overlooked that! Also, the Jet Express offers trips to and from Put-In-Bay, about a 20 minute ride.

@@sovietdove1320I think he said it was Port Clinton?

one of my distant relatives manned a lighthouse...George Currie, at Cove Island, Ontario. He was the longest serving keeper.

The Jetty you walked out on was really long. I love walking out on those, when they have the cement walk ways.😊
Catawba would have been a great stop, Maumee Bay SP as well, Toledo area would have been easy to get around in. Maybe next time. Good Show.. !

Finding that survey marker was SUPER COOL…
Happy Easter. The Great Lakes are enormous. Lake Superior is the largest lake in the world.
Actually the biggest lake in the world is the Caspian Sea in Russia.
@@rosamwen2267 its technically a lake because of the saltiness and is considered a sea because of that. Lake Superior is fresh water.
I meant to say it's a sea and not a lake because of its being partially salty.
The blue one was Mae West's house car.
I love watching your videos. So detailed. It feels like I’m traveling with you!

Hi Russ
I just looked up affordability for those Port Clinton apts. $675- 1 bd, $825 - 2 bd. Not bad.
I liked the River museum , even a few more views would have been fine with me .
My neck of the woods. I live in Millersburg
Hey Russ, you started this one where I went to school 1960-1964, Killbuck, Ohio. Did you by any chance do a stand alone video of Killbuck.
