    Love these step by step tutorial, keep them coming! Best info I’ve found on RUclips. Bought another Okuma GSP based on your recommendations, love these rods. I bought so many rods before I settled on these and they’re now my go-to, even had a buddy pick one up after seeing mine. Wish I could afford an X-series but I’ve got way too many hobbies to spend that much money on a rod. Honestly though, I don’t know how they can get much better than the GSP’s!

    Great tips but I dont get the spinning reel. Centerpin or level wind is the way to go unless casting space is a issue.

    • @evanegan6843
      @evanegan6843 4 года назад +2

    • @dunsterman356
      @dunsterman356 4 года назад +1

      Very hard to fish high vis braid on a pin or level wind. To get the dead drift you need to fish a spin caster. Trust me, I fish a centerpin at home in Canada but when I fish the rivers in the states, it’s a different fishery all together. Kinda have to try it to understand..... it works very well for fishing braid. Gives you the perfect dead drift. No stretch in your line too. Long drifts. Easy hook set. For sure centerpins are more fun but there is definitely a place for spin casters.... just my 2 cents😉

    • @benjaminaxselholm
      @benjaminaxselholm 4 года назад +1

      @@dunsterman356 sorry bud. Admittedly disagree on that one. Center pins are not designed for a fun fight theyre designed for the perfect drift the line comes off with no resistance thus the large arbor and diameter giving the line leverage to pull off the spool. You can buy high vis mono made for centerpins even floating centerpin line. Theres nothing perfect about a drift where you have a loop of line you have to mend those streams they fish are small theres no way I'd ever have a big loop in the water. Keep line high and as dry as possible no slack line loop and no shaking your rod to get line off your reel when the float moves your on it instantly doesnt even need to go under. You watch these guys who are actually good knowledgable fisherman but miss so many hits on there videos because of the spinning setup. I think they know better but they help sell a lot of chinese spinning reels through endorsements good on them there living the dream.
