1:50:47 That honestly shocked me that absolutely nobody died and serious injuries were minimal. They got lucky on the terrain, the trees slowed them down but thankfully a clearing opened up for them to fully land without the trees tearing them apart.

01:29:33 That poor man who piloted the aircraft that fortunately kept everyone alive during a serious incident probably caught so much crap for what happened. I am so sorry for him. The captain co-pilot and crew did an excellent job handling what could have been yet another preventable huge tragedy. The system they had been trained to use and trust worked completely against them. I think a lack of communication also contributed to this incident.
Prayers for this pilot whose dream was destroyed. He looked so sad in his interview. He looked so lost. I am proud of him for at least trying to face his fears. A lot of people don’t do this. I’ve flown many many many times in my child and teen hood and I could only hope that all the people who were in charge of the planes I flew in knew exactly what they were doing like this nice man. Knock on wood I never had any kind of emergency which looking back surprises me greatly. I feel that, because of this, I have tested fate enough and will not fly now unless I absolutely have to.
RIP to any and all victims. And God bless survivors, past and future and the victims families and loved ones. I hope none of them suffered too much and were taken quickly. That one got me yall. Take care up there my friends! 😊

The Heathrow Enigma... what I don't understand is why the fuel had water in it to begin with? I'm not a chemist, but I've worked with chemicals for 20 years, and products that I've made or pure products that I've transferred were tested for many things. Including water content. If there's water where there isn't supposed to be, that's considered a contaminant. And with one of things I've made/handled for years being aircraft deicer fluid, I can tell you that standards are extremely high for aviation chemicals. Their fuel would have to fall in line with that no?

How come Sully is praised for making a decision that wasn’t at the top of the checklist but he wasn’t criticized for not flipping the ditch switch and preventing water from coming in from openings that are closed when you flip the ditch switch because it was too far down the checklist? Hypocrisy that’s why

The whole Sully thing is way overrated. Mediocre pilot. Obviously the logical choice to land gently on a calm river. That 12 year old Russian kid probably could have pulled it off. And if I hear about his PTSD one more time I'm gonna puke. So many pilots who really did perform miracles bit it's always Sully Sully Sully. Pfft.

Let's face it they tried to pin the accident in sully. Didn't work. They decided not to used the correct permamiters. Only sully was a strong confident man. He made them change the permamiters and all sims failed. It's sad to think that they tried this.

Sully was a aviation safety consultant before the crash, so he knew what he was doing when talking to the NTSB. They completely removed the human factor in simulation training, which Sully reprimanded them for.

Raise your hand if you’ve watched a bunch of these air crash disaster films and you don’t know when both engines go out to deploy the APU? I’m guessing none of you have your hand raised up but Sully is a genius because he did that before they got to it on the checklist?

Hate me for saying that I'm so sick of hearing how Sully is some kind of miracle worker. A perfectly calm river right in front of him. Duh. The logical choice. So many unsung pilots that displayed much more impressive airmanship. If I hear about this mediocre pilot one more time I'm gonna puke. And he has PTSD from his brilliant maneuvers. Oh please! Guy that got sucked out of the cockpit and was flapping against the fuselage isn't boohooing about his PTSD.
No more Sully. 4 the love of God, enough!

  • @hahaaahhashmemwaa9078

In reality the NTSB never went after sully. They fully understood that the decision making indeed caused a delay of action. The movie is just inaccurate and the directors tried to villainize the NTSB. And besides, why would the NTSB even try to pin it on the crew? There is no gain for them in that.

Also, they never should have implemented the new landing rule until they updated that runway.
