@@DarrylHebbes Thanks for your comment Darry! The Fuji shutter really is so so nice. I loved trying it during our photo walk and I think it's great for street photography! The dynamic range i such a cool feature, trying to see if my sony a6700 can do this as well after this video !! :D
@@Reckless917 Glad we have the same opinion on the shutter sound😉 I am fairly certain DR settings also exist on Sony, just under a different name! Thanks for watching Lina☺️
I really like the shutter sound of my XT3. It’s strong and has a satisfying click, making it easy to know when I’ve taken a photo. However, with my XT5, I rarely worry about switching to the electronic shutter in quieter settings-it’s so silent that you hardly notice it unless you're looking through the viewfinder. Overall, this has allowed me more opportunities to take 'discreet' photos. Sure, I could use the electronic shutter, but I really don’t like it under artificial lighting; I’ve had too many unpleasant surprises with it. After some adjustment, I hardly used my XT3 anymore and ended up selling it at the start of the year. (Translated with ChatGPT)
Thanks for your comment!☺️ I perfectly agree with you that you can operate the X-T5 much more silently without even having to use electronic shutter! I can also relate to the artificial light problem that‘s hardly an issue with the X-T5!😊
Every point you make here is basically on the XH2S as well, however the stacked sensor gives more additional perks. As an event photographer working under strong artificial light but also needing to be utterly silent (musicians/orchestras etc), using the electronic shutter in these situations and its 6ms read out speed means I can use the camera above 1/50-60 shutter speeds without banding occurring. To do the same with XH2 or XT5 you will get banding issues (first hand experience). So whilst the shutter is very dampened and quiet on all these recent models, having the ability to use electronic shutter at any shutter speed and shoot completely silent is a feature that is incredibly powerful, freeing and rewarding but seldom talked about. It's one of the reasons I keep getting repeat business, because I am so utterly unintrusive be it government conferences or rehearsals/performances. In terms of shutter speeds, going to 1/180,000 is pretty mental, but I don't know if it is really necessary. I get 1/32,000 with the XH2S and I live in sunny Australia and I have some very fast lenses like the IBELUX 40mm f0.85 and I still have not encountered a scenario I needed to add a ND filter because I was maxing out at 1/32,000. So being able to go to 1/180,000 is totally cool, but I'm not sure its an every day need, and even your examples show up to 1/32,000 is enough. But yes, you kinda think this is standard on many other cameras, then you go check out the competition and realise their ES mode is stuck at 1/8000 and you think to yourself 'what is even the point of your ES mode bro?' 😄
Thanks so much for watching!☺️ Shooting orchestra at ES and under artificial light is indeed a very particular case in which you will want to have that stacked sensor for sure!☺️ I have shot events under artificial lights but never in a scenario in which I could not shoot mechanical shutter. I agree that most Fuji cameras have sufficiently fast electronic shutters, even my X-T30 can reach that 1/32.000s that I usually do not go beyond either. I also would not choose an X-T5 based on that insane ES. I use the X-T5 over an X-H2s simply because I benefit more from higher resolution and slightly better photographic dynamic range than from very fast and sustainable burst and readout speeds! Might still pick up one in the future, because of its speed! Thanks for your engaging comment!☺️
@@pithaupert Yeh, stacked sensors are kinda niche, if you don't need them you probably do work that doesn't really need them. Dear Duncan, thanks for your comment!☺️ In many ways, the X-T50 is a baby X-T5 but it lacks the newer shutter unit and weather sealing to still set them apart! In my opinion, this actually makes the X-T5 the better deal, given the rather high asking price of the X-T50🙈

@@hejakma4682 Thanks for pointing that out! And yes, you‘re absolutely right! In the case of ES and DR settings, I just feel like the X-T5 is bringing already existing features a bit further! The X-T4 is a fantastic camera too though!☺️
I found the shutter noise of the X-T5 a downgrade compared to the X-T4. It‘s less „clicky“ but more something like a hissing sound. I am complaining though on a very high level.
They are underrated due to some perfectionist characters, who proberly goes through all the settings in order to find their "perfection" setting, sets it all on auto, shoots Jpegs, with cinema bracketing and they wonder why their camera gets a slow AF and blame and demand Fuji should be as good a Sony, never read the manual. Completely absent from reality and makes all forums toxics. Quite annoying since Fuji actually made great cameras especially the newest generation.
Thanks for your comment! I also think Fujifilm cameras are fantastic and the features I mention in this video are part of the reason I shoot Fuji and not any other brand! And I agree with your point that the AF shitstorm is exaggerated especially since I rarely hear pro Fuji shooters complain about the AF😂 In my video I also really tried to emphasise the practical benefits of the ES, the DR settings and the shutter sound to not be part of those who go through the spec sheet and find underrated specs that are only theoretically valuable and not of any practical use😅 Thanks for watching!
Nice video, even I have to say that camera should first be capable to get a picture in a reliable and consistent manner. The feeling about sound and others should be an add on and not somethign to trade with the essentil feature like the AF. If you use the camera professionaly to make your money you have to be sure to can get that picture at that moment, claiming to have a silint system is not a good reason to take 5 or 6 time more shot. FUJIFILM need to address the focus issue as soon as possible.
I agree with you that the AF algorithms on other brands are much more robust than the ones on Fuji and the video was not intended to deviate from that fact. Yet, I value Fujifilm for producing experience-based cameras: retro dials, nice clicks, nice colours and shutter sounds. For me that's worth the tradeoff but I understand that some people put less value on experience and more on peak capability. In that case, it is not the right camera brand, agreed!
@@pithaupert Respect! But if I buy a car that car should be able to switch on and stop when I need, the feeling about the interior is a great add on ... but should not be the priority. So AF must work!
