And still, lots in Highland Park, Eagle Rock, and Echo Park (los angeles) areas when I was coming up. We were all at the same partys back then listening to the same music. In the early 1970's there was a new genre of music called Jazz-rock by groups like Malo and Chase. The usual guitars, keyboards and drums with a healthy dose of HORNS. Nena sends jazz-rock over the top with the horn interlude featuring the trumpet, trombone and flugelhorn. Nena is an excellent example of jazz-rock with a Latin infusion. I wish I was there for this performance, absolutely stellar.

So many memories. Believe it or not I was introduced to Malo in the 90s by a British husband who lived on the border of Scotland! I was blown away as I consider myself a performer and somewhat of a musical connoisseur of all genres from Opera to Hip-hop you guys trump it all. This music does not have a color it has a Feeling... that feeling is love. Thank you for allowing me to experience this joyful fusion of your souls and your culture. Looking forward to hearing what's next. Keep inspiring my Brothers. The Black Fairy of New England

Lead singer Richard Bean is legendary.. He is the original singer & writer of the song Suavacito. One of the founding members of MALO... Founding memeber of SAPO too!
I didn't like the way he hog'd up the stage front area , he didn't give Richard Bean (the Front man) space to shine,......that guy with the hat isn't the front man and doesn't belong there
Man, when I first heard both "Nena" and "Suavecito" in 1972 I was fractured. Those two songs are as strong in 2019 as they were back then. I love watching these guys get into it. Digging this from Chicago.

they want to prove that they accept other culture other then theirs or they showing off or they feel the white guilt thing. they want to justify something. I agree with you nobody should talk about their ethnic background when they comment. it s useless.

I miss San Francisco , so thankful forever this video.😌👌😌
Baby smelling stinky feet..
Oh...me too.
SF is my hometown.🌉
Stuck in Houston for now...
I miss the way it used to be. I am an old ass, born in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was affordable, lots of families and clean. Ah...the good old days!
@@ritao3464 I've been in Dallas for the last 12 years. When I go back to visit my family, the city as changed. It's a completely different atmosphere.
@@adc2327 I completely agree. 💯

ABOUT EVERY INSTRUMENT GREAT JOB
So many memories. Believe it or not I was introduced to Malo in the 90s by a British husband who lived on the border of Scotland! I was blown away as I consider myself a performer and somewhat of a musical connoisseur of all genres from Opera to Hip-hop you guys trump it all. This music does not have a color it has a Feeling... that feeling is love. Thank you for allowing me to experience this joyful fusion of your souls and your culture. Looking forward to hearing what's next. Keep inspiring my Brothers. The Black Fairy of New England
🙏❤️

Malo! Love the energy, absolutely. I remember seeing Malo at a little club in Modesto, CA 30+ years ago. Thanks for the music.

I was there and enjoyed this music very much . Hola Leo and Virgi. Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon . Dying for some great Latin Jazz . Be well my friends.

Proud to be Chicano. R.I.P. Jorge respetos desde Chi Town.🇲🇽🇺🇸
Lead singer Richard Bean is legendary..
He is the original singer & writer of the song Suavacito. One of the founding members of MALO...
Founding memeber of SAPO too!
Great music l' m cuban and I feel like a chicano , beautiful music my mexicans bothers
It would be spectacular to see them live, I feel a deep admiration for Malo, I love the passion they transmit through their music. Forever MALO 🤟🏼
I Love the guy with the hat he's got some Awesome dance moves ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Who is that???
I didn't like the way he hog'd up the stage front area , he didn't give Richard Bean (the Front man) space to shine,......that guy with the hat isn't the front man and doesn't belong there
yeah a cutie
MALO one of my all time favorites. They are for real, maybe one day i will get to see them jam.
Hello, John. Where are you located?
First time I've ever heard these guys and I'm an instant fan !
Man, when I first heard both "Nena" and "Suavecito" in 1972 I was fractured. Those two songs are as
strong in 2019 as they were back then. I love watching these guys get into it. Digging this from Chicago.
Hello, Mitch. We will be in Chicago on October 19th.
@@maloband1972 Oh man, you'll be at Apollo's 2000 on Cermak. Not far from home at all. I hope I can make it.
Wait...I saw June 21st. Gotta dig a litte deeper.
Que viva la Raza! 🇲🇽 y toda mi gente Latina from this Southern California girl ❤🌞🌊
Dar Candelaria 🥰❤️😊
Boyle Heights, El Serena we were there too.
It never rain in Southern California 🎶🎶
This was in San Francisco’s Mission District
¡Que viva la raza! From México 🇲🇽❤️
I don’t understand why you guys always have to say “as a white man...”, “I’m half Latin and half that”... we are one no matter color of skin and this music is the proof of that. We all enjoy it. Greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷
they want to prove that they accept other culture other then theirs or they showing off or they feel the white guilt thing. they want to justify something. I agree with you nobody should talk about their ethnic background when they comment. it s useless.
@@choosenone2die I hear you!
