Back in the seventies I met Guillermo (Jorge) Santana. My brother-in-law was in a rock group and he either knew Jorge or he just met him, I'm not sure but he invited Jorge and another member of Malo to my mother in laws home for dinner. I was invited as well. I even remember what she cooked for dinner. Fideo with fried potatoes and beans and a homemade salsa. I am sure Jorge enjoyed the meal. I just remember I was in awe of him because of his song Suavecito and of course being Carlos's brother. It was a very cool encounter.
Solid sound. Other than the crowd singing, and a few instrumental add-ons, the live version is spot on. I like that ..💃💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️. The band is tight, tight, tight.... Great sound man too, for sure....💃👏👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️

Love the inspiration behind the writing of the song, and I like how Richard said that the girl he wrote it for has no idea that she is the subject…..VERY COOL! I immediately liked this song when it came out in the Spring of’72 which was my Junior year of high school.

I went to school with Beene & Santana Mission high yes it’s a pretty song but the best and most beautiful song on the same album is ,just say goodbye. I love this song so I did my own cover here on RUclips. It came out beautiful my own remake.!!
This song reminds me of my 7th grade crush who mocked me for being fat. Several years later in between classes at ELAC, I ran into her at the nearby McDonald’s. I saw her drive in and our eyes locked in recognition. She exited her car with three kids in tow and the saddle bags to show for it. I was 147 pounds of hard man flesh and muscle. I guess the revenge was mine.
One day I went to a barra gabacha and see a beautyfull girl put in the rockola Samba pa ti one and another, when I near her , she asks me: it what means ? I was surpriced , is one dance song for you.😮
I find it interesting 🤔,,, this song means a lot to me as having grown up in Mexico City. It's odd,,, how when I graduated from college in the mid I had several interviews where I was turned down for being Mexican,,,they wouldn't tell me to my face, but I knew that was the reason. And now years later I look at these donut face gringos, trying to be hip and soaking up all the Latin rhythms.
