I don’t have to worry about being stoned for showing my face but I do have to be careful leaving the house or going out at night due to other men. We all have to face danger but it’s the fact that men can leave their house with relative safety and not have to be worried of other men. Do you think women want to be advocating and complaining, of course not.

Sounds like you’re better off not discussing why your parents are wrong about the shit they say. Maybe give them a disapproving nod and then do whatever it is you were doing. Technology knowledge is definitely a can of worms in many families and if your elders aren’t complete jackasses they’ll seek out your help in tackling the everyday obstacles instead of,stubbornly, misquoting jack from IT.
I’m jack from IT and 9 out of 10 times I try to nail a point to the wall it’ll be misunderstood and misinterpreted because people weren’t hired on the grounds of excellent sysops practices or deep knowledge of databases. Understanding the dicothemy between knowledge areas is the key to better communication, but it’s so hard to boil down a 3 hour lecture to 1 minute of facts that will be remembered.
I’ll leave you with a tip: If someone is making an argument for something, ask why they’re making that argument and how they’ve come to their conclusion. That way you’re able to form a response based on their point of view and shut their argument down.

It’s not a good Exurb1a video unless it gives you an existential crisis that leaves you sitting in the dark, poring over every aspect of your life, asking “was it worth it, was it ever even real? Is what I’m experiencing my life, is it reality, or are those experiences the last ditch effort of a dying mind to escape the inevitable and cold touch of death?”.
Personally I always feel very optimistic after watching an exurb1a video. I feel it puts my insecurities into a much larger context and so I worry less.
