You nailed my exact problem with both the WoB and First Order in the final trilogy. Finding a bunch of nutters with extremist views isn't hard. Especially after long destructive wars. Both then create enormous, capable militaries in a very short period of time. Okay, that's a tough task, and while not at likely, is possible. But wait, they did it secret, with no-one noticing. I call bullshit right there. But wait, both are going to use brand new designs of high tech hardware on a limited industrial base and with a limited population. And again no-one notices. Oh, and all these simultaneous high tech projects, work with essentially no teething problems, and can be slammed into mass production. None of that passes the sniff test either.
Unfortunately in Battletech it's not even possible. The Star League was created because the worlds of the Terran Hegemony were lacking resources, they had mined all the easy to get ones already. During the Star League, most of the SLDF mechs and forces were not even build within Hegemony worlds or were built on the ones shared with the Great Houses. So come the Succession Wars, Comstar and the future WoB would be reduced to only Terra and what resources they could BUY from the Great Houses. Military resources, like the metals and diamonds used in armour and other military applications, would not be on the open market to be bought. Even worse, by the post Tukayyid era, ALL focus would be on the Clan border and all resources would be headed in that direction. Even more so after the WoB take over Terra and stop trading with the Great Houses. All of that combined makes the military build up they do not even possible in universe.
My thing is that WoB somehow managed to create tons of new Mechs, new Combat Vehicles, new Weapons and Armors and Engines, etc, etc, etc. Things made from whole cloth over a small 10-20 year period, in addition to the fact that they managed to hide massive amounts of production and export to ‘hidden’ WoB armies around the Inner Sphere… not to mention the WoB is able to survive for so long against all of the Great Houses and even the Clanners. The only time I remember seeing either side win it was usually when the Clanners and GHs worked together to fight the WoB… but instead of using this to tie the Clans and GHs better together to start to find a way to possibly mend the huge gap it is waste. Ultimately it’s just sloppy writing with little payoff.
Cr I would say despite my enjoyment of blakeist crazys I will agree with some of your critic. The only point for them is the zealots did start showing up after Conrad toyama but they needed better fleshed out writing they make fun enemy's just like capellans.
Having Wobbie tech almost disappear after their defeat was dumb too. And not having it more common during their rampage was slightly more understandable but still kinda lame
It's also not any one facet of WoB that makes it terrible, but the fact that the writers dumped the whole barrel on us. They had enormous stockpiles of machines, recruited at unbelievable rates, developed completely new technologies, attacked everywhere at once, broke every rule, and were cartoonishly evil. It's all just too much to stomach.
I'm OK with the bulldog look. Compared to the Phoenix Hawk-3M it has comparable firepower, trading speed for armour. But does anyone else look at that breastplate & think it's an assault ramp? I want to see that drop & disgorge a squad of Purifiers. 😈
I guess the first Jihad novel was written in 1987 but it would seem they really ran with it in the early 2000s. So, basically, it's the Clan invasion rewritten by idiots. A lot of the complaints you had about the Word of Blake I had about the Clans when they first came out. They were basically Mary Sue Nazis who had exclusive access to all the best toys. Even after the timeline has been moved forward the IS hasn't closed the gap which is ridiculously contrived and bad writing. Well, the Jihad seems to be just like that only they are really pushing the idea of forced buy-in. You want the nifty toys you MUST play the newest Mary Sue Nazis.
Looks like Blastoise.
It looks like a cane toad or a frog, maybe even a Bulldog if it's a dog
I assume the blue flame might also be a nod towards bull frog
One of inbred bulldogs that cannot walk right
You can definitely see the Thunder Fox from the illustration.
Buff looking beast, if nothing else. XD
The blue and white flames reminds me of farts
Looks like a Pit Bullfrog lol, I absolutly adore quad/quadvee mechs, theyre so goofy
Definitely a good medium soldier mech very useful have used more than once
agreed on your WOB thoughts. and lets also remember how stupidly they used that stupid level of power that they were granted
Ribbet... BOOM...ribbet...
Hippity Wobbity, Get of Wobbie's property
BattleTech, if made by a Zoids fan.
They used them around bases
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks a little more like a toad than a dog to me. Angry buffed toad. Like it's back in the neighborhood from the military.
It could be a toad 'mech to carry 'toads into battle. They missed a trick there I think.
@CriticalRocket That would probably require changing focus in writing, to more practical and interesting functionalities of WoB engines first. :D

Battlefield salvage-justification in universe done....otherwise-i like the mini, i own one and use it in my Lyran forces for my quad lance.

Hhhhm word of blake and clans are basically the same thing.

So its a porn mech? LOL
Yeah, Based of Blake once again making everyone else seethe.

WoB is terrible as always. I'd go out on a limb and say the art for this monstrosity was inspired by the dog creatures in Ghostbusters.
There is the White Flame as well so maybe they are. The gatekeeper and the keymaster return as battlemechs and all that.
WOB suck, I do like how this mech looks though
No sir I dont like it.
