The MC90 feels like a marriage of Mon Cala and Imperial shipbuilding. Whitling firepower of a Star Destroyer and "Why don't you die?!?" endurance of MC line.
I mean that's just a Star fleet warship at that point... Like what made the mon cala ships special was their no compromisze of defence... while the ISD was no compromise on onfensive whith the Venator being no compromise at all they even though in the kitch sink and olpic sized swimming pool as a bonmus... So the MC 90 is like a vnetor not not a battlecarreri just a battleship that has the shilds of a moncala captial ship and the firepower of an ISD a normal stye star destorer... I mean that is fine espacly if it's a cleansheet design made for human likes... But still why not just retrofit ISDs with moncala shields and beff up the powerplant?
The first purpose built warship the Mon Cala made, and man did they hit the ground running with how incredible this ship is. I really love the MC-90 as it's my favorite Mon Cala warship, alongside the Mediator, and it's one of my favorite capital in all of Star Wars.
Just a note for the community in general So I did find a reference from The Official Star Wars Fact Files on Mon Cal ships, stating that they had 3 times the number of shield generators as typical for ships of their size. This means that shields aren't 3x stronger nor are shields triple layered. It means that shields can be used more modularity, likely in 2 different strategies. 1. Put up fresh shields as the currently active shields are depleted, then recharge. Or 2. Focus shields in smaller areas for greater strength, but once they go down there would be a localized weak point in coverage, probably inconveniently on the side taking fire. I will note that a ISD being 25% longer/ and heavier would have heavier shields, generator for generator, than a Mon Cal ship at 1200m. This indicates that the Mon Cals would need all the shield generators to be "stronger" than an ISD. I will also note that the Serridge SEAL shield generators are not exclusive to the Mon Calamari, also being mounted on the Nebulon-b which is a KDY product. This means that it isn't the shield generators being made of magical Mon Calamari ink, but rather a design choice between ship building styles. The Imperials choosing to put a lot more energy into offense from their main reactors, and the Mon Cal putting it into defence.
Mon Calamari ships being buildings ONLY makes sense if when they were used as buildings underwater they ran horizontally, not vertically like how we would think of a building. If not all the fixtures would be 90 degrees off, when flown in " level flight ", however building laying horizontal in the water makes a lot more sense then being vertical because of pressure differences. I think when they show Mon Cal cities, the building / ships should come off center spire like branches on a tree. Not only does that solve the orientation, and pressure issues, it also makes it a lot easier for them to " escape " when needed. It's not as " space efficient " for a city layout, but in the water, that doesn't matter as much.
A MC90, Nebula, Endurance Combo are absolutely welcome addition in Thrawn's Revenge but the Escorts, especially the Agave and Warrior feel underpower and down grade from the CR-90 and DP-20.
Can you make a video about shields? In cube there is a kind that burns but ray shield doesnt and some create a bubble or thermal that unusualy stops both bolts and projectiles
Starwars has always had an odd problem in regards 'fighters' and capital ships. In the real world the advent of reliable aeroplanes signalled the death knell of real battleships. No matter how powerful when set against other surface combatants, any battleship was vulnerable to swarms of low-cost fighters and bombers. Truly beautiful ships like the King George V class, the lovely Yamato and the even _more_ lovely but never built Montanas were the last of their kind because it is far cheaper and easier to sustain a fighter/bomber wing than it is support a true capital ship. It is the problem of ABM but inverted and the economics in modern days with remotely operated drones would just further underline that issue. This is a reason the current major naval powers all rely on supercarriers to be the teeth of their forces while the majority of the rest of their navy is primarily designed for and tasked with protecting those carriers. Somehow, despite there clearly being a long established tradition of dog-fighting small 'fighter's/bombers in the SW universe the Republic and Empire still invested unimaginable sums in massive capital ship programmes. And it makes no sense. Trek gets around this with the assumed 100% effectiveness of computer controlled phaser/disruptor targetting. The Jem'Hadar to some extent bucked that trend, but for the most part no 'fighter' could mount shields heavy enough to protect them from perfect computer targetting of massively powerful particle beams. Therefore what are effectively capital ships can exist. Even the happy-clappy Federation produces units like the Sovereign and Odyssey classes that are battleships wearing a bikini and a bright smile. But SW... We know all too well their AAA (ASA?) gunnery is dreadful otherwise Luke would have had a short career and Executor would have lead a triumph for Sidious on his all-conquering return to Coruscant. Yet both sides (all sides!) still keep churning them out! Its a good job any galaxy has trillions of years worth of raw materials to cater to even the most extravagant of any dictator's ship-building ambitions.
I mean it's a Moncali designed Star destroyer a massive departure from they normal designs... The ones they used to win the galtic civil war.... It's exactly the same diffence between the vantor and the ISDs...
Remember no matter how old us meta nurdz get. Starwars lore will never get old. There is to much we havnt got into like how about the pirate ship on skeleton crew with the total ship overhaul button. That was cool. And the force will be with you alway.

Still do not like the whole bit of canon that the majority of the Mon Cals are actually underwater buildings that somehow managed to be turned into full on starships. Sigh.

Please tell me you have dyslexia.
New Year, New Metanerdz lore video, nice

if I was in star wars, this is the capital ship I'd rock with

My second favorite Mon Cala ship after the Mediator.
Thanks for answering my question about the transition of the New Republic cruiser from these Mon cruisers.
Hey I've searched alot about the MC90 on RUclips and boom this video pops up.
I think Metanerdz is spying on me lol.
Happy New Year 🎆 MetaNerdz Lore, and nice video
your forgetting the most badass fact the mon cala built buildings that are also starships😊
This ship has more consistent details than the MC80
You should have used The Thrawn's Revenge Mediator model, then the old Mandator 1 model.
Done that already

I love your NR ship videos…
mc90 is a top favorite mon cala design i need to play some thrawn revenge one day so i can make a task force of this

I agree, the Agave and Warrior are just too oversized for Escorts.
Look at Fallout Securitron
Have a happy 2025 and MC90 reminds me of Dead Space2 where you can see that same letters and numbers. Also, can you do videos on Mass Effect ships?
As naves mó calamares são os meus predileto, atrás apenas dos cruzador jeda😊
Fish people ship compilation incoming!
Didn't realize they built so many mediators, i'd think battle cruisers would have been built in fewer numbers because of their size.
The sacheen class of ships kinda looks like a tartan patrol cruiser the empire used
Can you make a video about shields? In cube there is a kind that burns but ray shield doesnt and some create a bubble or thermal that unusualy stops both bolts and projectiles
The mc90 is imo the 2nd coolest looking mon cala ship the 1st being the mediator.
What mod is used in the EAW gameplay?
Will you release a new set of legends characters soon? The life of Revan, Bane, Vader, Sidious, etc, etc?❤
