I am not seeing any crackdown of any emulator other than Yuzu. Yuzu did it to themselves and gave Nintendo a lot to work with, something that they didn't have for all this time. that's why they got caught with their pants down. I think the emulator community will adapt and learn from Yuzu's mistakes and emulators will move on.
I think the retarded part of this whole thing is that Nintendo is absolutely horrendous when it comes to supporting their older stuff. I can somewhat understand why they closed down the NDS and Wii networking stuff, since they licensed GameSpy to handle the networking side of those consoles. When GameSpy shut down in 2014, there really isn't much they could do with all the games they had out there at that point. However, what's the excuse with the 3DS/Wii U network other than "We just don't want to"? Money? I doubt the bandwidth for the Wii U games and 3DS's MiiVerse and other things would hurt their bottom line much at all. Plus you have Prentendo taking those things over now anyway, you just have to homebrew your consoles. Basically, do to those consoles exactly what Nintendo doesn't want you to do, but they don't leave you much of a choice if you want to keep using them.
Thank God emulation is the best community that just comes back stronger if you try taking it down. Will be going this route the rest of my gaming life along with Steam.
Aethersx2 died after the original developer left. That was almost 2 years ago. MR. Sujano, I'm going to try to shed some light on the case of the guy who said to denounce Nintendo: from what I understand, another channel (Brazilian too) criticized him, for being a Nintendo fanboy, and he out of revenge, posted that video talking to people report. but one of the links actually redirected to his "enemy's" channel (as a form of mockery). Of course it didn't go down well and the comments on his channel now have a lot of people criticizing him. It is regrettable that, at this point, there are people wanting to further disrupt the delicate situation of emulation. it is not an isolated case. I've seen channels from other countries (including US ones) doing similar things. For me, this just shows how people like to 1: live in their imaginary world and 2: profit from news, regardless of the method. Anyway, I hope you have a good week and continue with your excellent work. Among so many channels, yours is one of the only reliable ones!

I don’t think Suyu is doing anything wrong at all. Plus it would be better for them to do something with Citra as well. They sound like they know what they’re doing, as well as mentioning the hydra effect when it comes to taking down things.
I was a contributor on various emulators throughout my life and the skill you need to develop an emulator, let alone current gen emus are way above your average programmer skillset, so sadly it will take time to find new talented people who has the will to take on a new emulator, specially a Nintendo one, or continue Yuzu's code
I can wait 2 or 3 years for new yuzu, drastic, aether and pizzaboy emulator. We only want best premium emulator for preservation of old games for future generation
If someone is dumb enough to report emulators, they are destroying the ability to preserve, enhance and access games that aren't sold anymore, doesn't pay the developers or publishers anymore and forces people to pay up an insane amount of money on the second hand market for a used copy in varying condition... Which also drives up the prices even more... And hits those reporting them too... I can't imagine being such a corporate bootlicker that you want the companies to have so much control that they only maybe will sell you these roms... And even when they do, they are still subpar experiences that are locked to that one particular console you buy it on and they don't look or emulate as well as fan passion projects. Without emulators, I have to buy subpar PAL releases of the games I want to play, and that's if they were even released in my region. Every time I buy a physical game used for my collection, which I still do, the condition can be terrible or simply don't work in the worst cases. When I bought God of War for the PS2, I had to tell the seller it freezes on the same part of the game and he sent me a new one, since it was a reseller. Had it been a private seller, I wouldn't have been so lucky. Emulators are important and they need to be available.
Yeah. I totally agree with that for game preservation especially for people like me who weren't even born yet for the PS2/3 era. However, for consoles in circulation, I think it hurts the devs the most. They don't get the money that's worth their effort if people just decide to "emulate" and "preserve " games that they NEVER purchased in the first place. Imo, emulation teams should respect game and console makers as they should understand them the most, since they're working in the same industry.
As a person who's played video games since the 5th generation, I can't tell you how many physical discs that were scratched, broken, or destroyed despite trying to be careful to use them to the best of my ability to play the games, in a way where we put them back in compact disc cases and such (the worst was N64 games as they didn't even have portable cases to keep them from collecting dust). I'm still glad that most of our video game collection still works, but for how long I'm not sure. Tons of emulation used to be underground, but the more popular it gets the more visible it gets. If it's done well at all people are going to talk about it.
Agreed. People don't realize emulation was meant to be an underground thing in it's early days. The fact that emulators even show up on official storefronts at all boggles my mind.
Duckstation already is a solid emulator, so even if it stops getting updates it still runs well, unlike Yuzu that was still under intensive improvement. Infinity Blade was a ton of fun and I might have to try out the Android port now. Also lol at people going Karen on Ryujinx like Nintendo doesn't already have technical lawyers pouring over Ryujinx code.

Yuzu got hit with a 2.4 million fine when they probably didn't make over 500k... Aint no way there working on Suyu that would be incredibly stupid of them
I don't know if this is something that you would cover but I'm working on a remaster for Infinity blade PC that's going to have enhanced models with baked in lighting and it already has AI upscale textures that makes it look really good
I’m convinced suyu is just a bunch of teenagers butthurt over yuzu, considering all the progress are unimplemented features that were already in previous yuzu builds, but also the fact they don’t know how to handle their project in order to avoid another dmca.
All this is happening because Switch has been jail broken by a lot of people and are swiping sales from Nintendo. At least wait until it becomes old and are no longer selling. There's a difference between Video Game Preservation and Piracy.
Don't underrstand why emulators need to be in play store? Can just have them downloadable and sideloadable and then update. Totally unnesecary to draw attention to these emulators on Playstore and open the door for crack downs.
I think i read the other day that it doesn't have multicore support yet. Could explain why the arcade version of Time Crisis 3 runs at 45FPS on my rig despite the 4.6GHz overclock i have on my CPU and despite my GTX 680 and that's without running any upscale at all.
well, that's not helpful for us who unfortunately don't have it and now we can't. I'm glad I had yuzu and citra though. But I regret not having aetherx2 already installed.
Shouldn’t Suyu first remove the encryption key related code of Yuzu and then publish that code as a first version of Suyu? So Nintendo can’t argue that the emulator needs people to circumvent security measures on the consoles? Of course that means that users would need to somehow retrieve decrypted games…
That's what a lot of people are saying about the new direction for Switch emulation. Decryption is the key to avoiding the issue of using NIntendo's arguments against it. Likely this is why a lot of the "new" emulators are problematic until they do remove the need for prod keys.
Thank God for archives probably. Install alpha, import mem card, directory for games, then try to run a game select your bios that you legally own, then update to the version you want. That's how to make storage work still on android 14
Love your videos, man. Love the updates. My account was hacked, and your channel was one of many that was targeted. I still feel bad that it happened. But you got a long-term sub out of it. Do you get a lot of hate for these videos? Seems some people seem to hate emulation for some reason.
Emulation will never get fully destroyed. Suyu, in my eyes, is not only a halrious name for the emulator, but I see a little bit of future progress, not a lot. I could be wrong myself so I can agree. And theres also other Switch emulators out there lol. Pick what you want to play I guess....no judgment. Just start making it free to do so.
Hopefully Another individual picks on the PS2 Emulation scene for Android. I didn't think PS2 emulation on phones would be a thing someday. Can't let this die.
Emulation is not illegal last time I checked, but I'm still kinda lost on what really happened there, no real information has been released yet as on why Nintendo are so hell-bent on completely removing any trace of these emulators including citra. Did the devs distribute game backups? Or maybe some proprietary code straight out of the consoles?
Hm... Wonder why Stenzek doesn't just publish on Fdroid. Android supports side loading and even has a couple decent alternative app stores. If he switches to an iPhone and then they change an app store policy, Apple doesn't allow you to just choose something else.
I'm ngl I'm SO excited for the infinity blade series to get ported to Android. (and hopefully bypass micro transactions in later titles) In LOVE with the series.
It is a real shame. Big companies like Nintendo are taking down emulators or a person who really enjoy emulators. I just find to be disappointing but anyway love the videos keep up the good work. Hopefully emulators can see the light of day again.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, people will jump through hoops to appease the billion-dollar corporation as if they're actually apart of the team because they feel they're a part of their ecosystem even if they're not even asked to, which I find kinda funny but also sad.
Mark your calendars. Mar-10 is the beginning of the end. It just keeps getting more and more troubling. I wish it wasn't but the fact that other emulators not even relevant to Nintendo ones are being taken down.
@MrSujano the reason of the lawsuit was because of the code AND guide they had to decrypt the games. If somehow they reverse engineer and find a way to NOT decrypt exactly like the nintendo switch does (for now I think it is the same) it is still technically illegal, and the yuzu team of course many of them left the boat but some contributors said that they will support the project
@@namenlosNamenlos I mean, DuckStation for Android is in potential trouble due to some time it could reaching the end and idk the only other way to play is ePSXe, and I just hope there will be a fork of that decent PS1 emulator DuckStation...
Man all these top toer old android games coming to the vita is just 👌. Hopefully we can get Modern combat 4 N.O.V.A 3 Shadowgun Six guns Shadow fight 2 and so on ported to the vita
Man I’m at least hoping that the emulators are preserved when the people quit working on it. Kind of sucks they can just delete it from the store and there’s no way to download 😢 rough time for emulation. I hope this means there will end up being more underground and a niche hobby.
glad you went in-depth about suyu i do think a fork of yuzu would be able to get away with existing, but... not when it's made by non-developers, and when it's being made by a community full of bigots. it'll take quite a few months before we see a genuine effort at reviving yuzu, due to the lack of documentation, and it's not gonna be done by a bunch of people with minimal developer cred on a discord.
The problem with the Yuzu clones is that they are dead on arrival, if the old Yuzu devs aren't doing any new commits to one of the clones they are useless, you cant magically summon skilled developers to work on a new Switch emulator
I agree with you but as long as we can archive the best version of every emulator then we might have a chance at surviving this amazing community’s work
To be fair, the fact the suyu devs mocked Nintendo just makes me root for them more. I think their plan may be to put measures in place so a DMCA can't do anything to their project rather than to avoid one. For example tpsince they're on gitlab they can easily move to a self hosted instance in Russia or something.
We all know Nintendo want to get rid off Emulation, it seem Nintendo is winning and out fear on everyone that enough to make people ditch developing emulators.

I don't know if this is something that you would cover but I'm working on a remaster for Infinity blade PC that's going to have enhanced models with baked in lighting and it already has AI upscale textures that makes it look really good
That's great, thanks for the hard work ❤
Soon dolphin will r.i.p and mobile will back again in the Java days with emulators
Nintendo fanboys make me sick.
They're annoying.
Those people doing that is just Nintendrones in my eyes.
i don't worry about Ryujinx anymore, because it's already decent enough, most of the games that i played run flawlessly, so nintendo is too late
Newer games might have some issues.
I’m convinced suyu is just a bunch of teenagers butthurt over yuzu, considering all the progress are unimplemented features that were already in previous yuzu builds, but also the fact they don’t know how to handle their project in order to avoid another dmca.

I have alot of saved states on Aethersx2 how can i transfer them to Nethersx2?

Next week's news: Retroarch shutting down, PCSX3 getting sued by Sony, NEW gameboy emulator!
Personally I'd wait a year for Switch Emulation to pick back up again.
Nah just a couple months promise
All this is happening because Switch has been jail broken by a lot of people and are swiping sales from Nintendo. At least wait until it becomes old and are no longer selling. There's a difference between Video Game Preservation and Piracy.
Don't underrstand why emulators need to be in play store? Can just have them downloadable and sideloadable and then update. Totally unnesecary to draw attention to these emulators on Playstore and open the door for crack downs.
My thoughts exactly. Emulation was always meant to be an underground thing.
thanks for following up on suyu Mr. S. Totally agree with your point. Will keep an eye open on them.
I still have AetherSX2 installed on my phone, and the APK.
Do you have the most recent APK can I get it off you

I think i read the other day that it doesn't have multicore support yet.
Could explain why the arcade version of Time Crisis 3 runs at 45FPS on my rig despite the 4.6GHz overclock i have on my CPU and despite my GTX 680 and that's without running any upscale at all.
@GUCFan
how can i explain when i have 0 information about the development other than it exists in Google Play

Man 2024 is not a good year for emulating at all so far.
Agree 😭😭😭😭 I'll keep my AetherSX2 on my phone
It's only been a quarter of a year so there's still hope
I read the post on AetherSX2's discord and they said they intended for everyone to migrate to NetherSX2 since that one was actively in development.
RIP emulators 😢. Hope every gamer that don't have platform can enjoy gaming in many ways.
What a month!
Emulation really is worth saving. I’ve been gaming since about 7 years old. Games are definitely art 🖼️. Long live the classic arts 🎭
I watch your videos every morning like others watch the morning news!!! Thank you for what you do
Sideloading still able to install Duckstation android, no playstore needed
Yes. You can get the apk from their website, retroarch style
So I compiled Suyu myself it seems to run fine with no issues it just takes a while to do so
Hm... Wonder why Stenzek doesn't just publish on Fdroid. Android supports side loading and even has a couple decent alternative app stores. If he switches to an iPhone and then they change an app store policy, Apple doesn't allow you to just choose something else.
right? and surely he knows about fdroid
Android supports side loading.
However, it may not too long until Google decided to start blocking it on future Android version releases.
@@AmirZaimMohdZaini Not sure how this hypothetical is relevant to a decision he is making today.
I'm ngl I'm SO excited for the infinity blade series to get ported to Android. (and hopefully bypass micro transactions in later titles) In LOVE with the series.
I am a member of discord of AetherSX2, they said they would continue to support and Develop NetherSX2 but discontinue AetherSX2,
It is a real shame. Big companies like Nintendo are taking down emulators or a person who really enjoy emulators. I just find to be disappointing but anyway love the videos keep up the good work. Hopefully emulators can see the light of day again.
PsOff works with a NVIDIA RTX 3080TI, and also very well, without graphic or sound problems and to a constant 60fps capped velocity (Tested on Worms)
The fact that NIntendo isn't even paying some their employees is another reason why pirating their stuff is moral.
Yeah I knew it and as title suggests, AetherSX2 screwed up again and now DuckStation's in trouble this time...
?
@@namenlosNamenlos I mean, DuckStation for Android is in potential trouble due to some time it could reaching the end and idk the only other way to play is ePSXe, and I just hope there will be a fork of that decent PS1 emulator DuckStation...

This is why I'll always prefer to emulation on PC. PC will always be king.
Man I’m at least hoping that the emulators are preserved when the people quit working on it. Kind of sucks they can just delete it from the store and there’s no way to download 😢 rough time for emulation. I hope this means there will end up being more underground and a niche hobby.
My advice to download every emulator right now
Sue-you is such a good name.

I hope next time will be better with the emulators.
The subreddit for suyu has a thread begging for developers, because they have none. The teenager in charge doesn’t code
glad you went in-depth about suyu
i do think a fork of yuzu would be able to get away with existing, but... not when it's made by non-developers, and when it's being made by a community full of bigots. it'll take quite a few months before we see a genuine effort at reviving yuzu, due to the lack of documentation, and it's not gonna be done by a bunch of people with minimal developer cred on a discord.
Everyone is a bigot in some form.
The problem with the Yuzu clones is that they are dead on arrival, if the old Yuzu devs aren't doing any new commits to one of the clones they are useless, you cant magically summon skilled developers to work on a new Switch emulator
bruh tf are you talking about? its open source everyone can contribute
We want new improve emulator for ps 2 Android 😢
Emulation Is Going To Die I Think.😢
I agree with you but as long as we can archive the best version of every emulator then we might have a chance at surviving this amazing community’s work
To be fair, the fact the suyu devs mocked Nintendo just makes me root for them more. I think their plan may be to put measures in place so a DMCA can't do anything to their project rather than to avoid one. For example tpsince they're on gitlab they can easily move to a self hosted instance in Russia or something.
3 words: Long Live Emulation! ❤
I haven't used aethersx2 since nethersx2, which removes the bloatware
I watched Ricky Stanicky because of you.Cena owes you a thanks for that
