The whole killing the guy by twisting his neck is also total hollywood nonsense and you see it in a lot of movies. it's actually really hard to break someone's neck by just twisting it. In Medicial school students have to break the neck of cadeavers and it requires 2 or 3 people to do it sucessfully. and even then they don't do it in one single twist lol. and even if you were strong enough to break someone's neck like that it wouldn't kill them lol.
Don't think it would have made that much of a difference. Their main goal was to extract the virus and kill scientist. The only thing that they weren't able to account for was that the scientist was actually carrying the virus in his own blood instead of the bag.

He didn't turn down the role, he got injuried filming the motorbike chase scene when MI2 when over schedule, so Hugh Jackman came as a replacement

They overuse the mask disguise throughout the movie, the ending of killing main antagonist is also cringy.

I loved it. It was karma. The guy thought he killed Ethan at first then let out an epic scream when he realized from the cut finger it wasn’t.
That was a great moment. Obviously it could only be Stamp after Sean was done. But it was great fun finding out
One of thr few times ive seen a villain in pain seeing a secondary antagonist killed. I mean you can tell its that type of scream not just anger.
