The first time I test rode it, my exact words were - "who the hell would want to buy any kind of Harley cruiser when this one exists". P.S. My other bike is a 2019 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S. When I got my MC Lic 17yrs ago, I took the NH MSF course as I hadn't ridden anything since I was a teenager (I was 39 then). One of the instructors thought I was nuts as my first bike I bought for $400 was a 79' KZ1000 ST. Given it was the fastest production bike of that year, not what you would suggest for a starter bike. Liked it so much, I bought another one w/only 19k orig mi on it. Finally gave in and bought a 21' Vulcan 1700 Vaquero this year for my first "bagger". Seriously considering getting the ECU "Flashed".

      I HIGHLYYYY recommend shipping out your ecu to MoorsMafia, they are the best in the game.
      Other than that, I would be cautious about bringing my bike to a local Dyno as a tune is not only 3x the price of a flash but it can fail 👍 Goodluck Bud

    Dear Yammie! Love your videos on all different bikes with the pros and cons. I personally own a 22 ZX-14 because of the cost factor of not having a new Busa. I have owned Suzuki and Kawasaki’s my entire life except for the 88 Yamaha V-Max with the Boost control removed with individual air cleaners and a stage 3 kit with a Kerker Pipe that would rip your eyelids off! I wish I still had it to give you that experience of pure tire smoking mid range performance for the exchange of letting me ride a Turbo Busa. I truly can be called a GSXR boy because I have owned more of them than anything. And yes I have owned a slow ass Harley Sportster that I should have never bought just to look cool at your neighborhood bar and make noise but can’t pass a Toyota Corolla getting on the frwy!! If it can’t do 160mph + I’m not riding it that simple! I’m 58 and still have the need for speed. Keep up the great videos! Carl Parrish Jr

    My father has had a 1st Gen vmax and 2 2nd gens, his current 2nd Gen makes about 235 horsepower at the crank and enough torque to haul a fifth wheel. It's been modded and frankly actually looks pretty good in my opinion, and she's got quite the story. He always loved crotch rockets and has ridden tons of them (everything from a R6 to a Hayabusa), but he doesn't like the discomfort.
    The bike definitely commands respect, and I've ridden his before. I haven't been riding that long but I got to expierence the power for myself and it is ridiculous, it's an insane bike, and quite comfy. I just upgraded to a Gen 2 fz1 (inspired by fast bikes but wanting good ergos for prolonged street use), and yes I absolutely love the bike and it's very fast, but still doesn't hold a candle to that vmax
    They are amazing bikes and if you ever get to try one never turn it down, it's an expierence you won't ever forget

    The H2 is crazy fast. But I would likely choose a ZX14 over it. The supercharger is a collection of extra moving parts to break and the higher combustion chamber pressure created by a supercharger puts more wear on the head boots, gasket.... Kawasaki might have engineered the engine to compensate. But I don't trust a supercharger over thousands of miles.

    • @Gismo3333
      @Gismo3333 2 года назад +9

      They make airplane engines. Think you underestimate their capability. The H2 is not at all pushed to the limits. Seen people boost them up to much more HP. And they work fine. So a original I don't think have no problem with 1000 of miles… You back will break/give out, long before the engine of the bike.

    Could you imagine if they were allowed to continue to make two-stroke motor cycles liquid cooled with a modern power valve? Oh my god that's boost without boost all right. You hit power being on that thing with a real Kawasaki integrated power system, power valve and liquid cooled. Imagine it was 1,000 cc's triple. Yeah yeah my pants just got tight thinking about this dream

    Gotta love the V-Max... there's a french comic book series called JOE Bar team that follows a biker gang from the suburbs of Paris, one of them... shortest one, nicknamed 'the gnome'.... bought one! ANd you can guess how that went: threw the throttle open and he was soaring through the streets with him holding on for dear life on the handlebars... the later ones had him upgrade to the new bigger model with more hilarity: it was so big and heavy.. it had the tendency to topple over... and our friend the gnome had to call for help to right the bike back up.

    Yammie, can you please make a new video about how to choose the right helmet for the kind of bike you're going for, but also how it should fit. I got a LS2 that seems to fit decently with my dreadlocks, but I can't figure out if I should have more space between my chin and the chin bar. There's hardly anyone that talks about it and I'm not sure if my chin is suppose to be touching it, or if I'm suppose to be able to stick at least a finger between them. I'm practically kissing the helmet when I shift my jaw.
    Thanks!

    • @dalegribble9101
      @dalegribble9101 2 года назад

      My Ls2 is also quite close I can just about fit a small mic in there but it will touch my lip. My brother has a modular helmet and because the chin bar can flip over onto the back of the helmet it has been designed with lots of room, I doubt he could reach the chin bar even with his tongue stuck out.

    Yammie has really matured , fantastic development!! I know this is slightly obtuse to the spirit of your video's theme - However, I if i may, I would add kick-start big-inch bikes, for the danger to the knees, some really old-timers say the electric start made it 'all too easy'" but I want to see anyone riding anything (as long as it is safe)... Moreover, a clean chain and lubed chain, just a modicum of care, at the elite colleges I went to, keeping a car dirty was a mark of sophistication, but in later life, just keep it clean, it is the least you can do ... evidence of care in general

      I bought one last year (U.K.) I'm 61 y.o. Apparently, it's a "Cruiser" , the torque is amazing and it's comfortable for 150 miles straight ...and I love it. The only downside it touring with luggage; I couldn't justify buying the Triumph pannier set @ £800+ so put a rack on the bike.
      Get a test ride! You will be surprised just how well it handles for such a heavy bike.
