Thanks! And we'll see haha 😅, I am seeing some pretty awesome WIP's on the discord and online so the competition will definitely be fierce, but I hope we can squeeze our way in!
This looks so dope! Great work! If I can be honest, I thought this city was on fire because of how bright the lights were and how much smoke/fog there is. It wasn't until I saw you go through it for the 20th time or so that I realized those are window lights. Anyway, this is spectacular!
Thanks for the feedback! I think that may be partially because I rendered in such a low resolution and the denoiser went wild, but that’s good to know, I’ll have to tweak some things so it feels more like smog/volumetrics because I can totally see how you may see that!
@@Scouty No worries. And please feel free to completely ignore my criticism. You didn't ask for criticism and I probably shouldn't have given it. I want to be clear that your render is amazing and better than anything I've ever made.
Thanks! Yes, you cannot move the camera angle or change the focal length, but you can change it's speed and add "tasteful" camera shake. What's really important is that the in-out points match. Check out Blenderman III's vid on it for how to do it! ruclips.net/video/FCweynt-EGA/видео.html
@Corey Ruecker yeah, completely depends on how close your buildings are. Mine are right up in there so it looks really fast, but if you gave your vehicle more space you should also be fine
Kind of a mix of both, When I first start a scene I always add a human rig (can find in rigify addon built into blender). Then I know what the scale of a human is so I usually just eyeball things to match.
what are your PC Specs Im wanting to get into Environment creation and I was worried I dont have the Beef to run it haha I currently have Ryzen 9 3900X / 64GB Ram / RTX 2080
from how I understand it, yes you can increase/decrease the size to a certain degree, but I would recommend doing some perspective shifting if you want it smaller, like instead of having it be a small vehicle, make the environment large to make it feel tiny, of course every vehicle will have slightly different proportions/sizes, the importance is how it fills the frame. From the FAQ's: Q: What if my vehicle is way too big/small to fit in the frame? A: Ensure that your vehicle visual weight matches the template. You can refer to the example vide for different scales.
I expect to be working on it and refining right until the last minute, I am currently about halfway done with the Model of the car, and plan to move onto texturing/rigging next week!
In my final environment, I used both Kitbash3D and my own custom buildings. For the kitbash 3D models, I used the DieselPunk pack, took some of their pre-build buildings, and then removed parts and attached other pieces to them to make them more original. For the ones I made, those are completely original from the ground up, procedural textures, hand made model, ect.
@@Scouty wait, I just checked your channel and, you're that guy that convinced me to add pantheon to my must watch list.( I haven't yet though but still)
@@m_tth_w9647 Holy crap thats awesome! One of the few who actually watched that video lol, still really surprised no one talks about that show, it was great!

Omfg, the anger. I liked blender, but coming from the 2D animation world, 3D is so cumbersome and not intuitive at all. Frustratingly unintuitive. I’ve finished a few tutorials and can’t figure out the f*ck to change the car with the bike, cuz I can’t find the bike in the starter files. I tried to mess with grease pencil, but the camera doesn’t focus on the f*cking car from frame one and nothing works in a way that you’d think it would make sense. I know why so many people quit 3D so quickly. It doesn’t make any f*cking sense. 2D is so much easier. You draw it, polish, done. I’m so f*cking done with 3D.
3D is a huge leap when coming from 2D to be sure! I am sure it can be frustrating at times but I highly recommend you keep at it if it's something you are interested in learning. Even for people who know 2D work, I am sure that if you are interested in pursuing it professionally you may find a time where knowing a bit of 3D can come in handy! As for the Bike, it wont be in the starter files, as all the references (even the car he gave us) are intended for us to replace with our own models.

Great video! Love the concept for documenting challenges in bit sized vids.
impressive work for the first week, best of luck about getting into the top 100, I am also really trying to sneak my way in there this time

Spectacular work! This is definitely deserving of the top 5 in my opinion. I can't wait to see your end product. 🔥🔥🔥
🙌 Thanks!
Can't wait to see the car, and I love the aesthetic🙌
Great work!
That's really awesome, Good Luck for qualifying!

Awesome video man. Somehow your narration style (like the inflections and pronunciation) sounds similar to Ryan Connolly from Film Riot lol
Huh, I have never heard that one before lol, thanks!
This looks great. The scene looks so rich. But, how did you reduce the speed from the template? We can’t touch the camera right?

Kind of funny because I didn’t touch the speed and this looks like it’s going way faster than mine

Awesome job! I have a question about the scale. How do you make a scale for the env. Do you use proportions, or real world measurements?

@@Scouty thanks! Is there any tutorial that you recommend about this topic?
Quick question, where do we submit our pieces? I'm nowhere near done, but I kinda want to know in advance. Also, your Environment looks great so far!
There will be a submission link given on the discord after Febuary 18th!
@@Scouty thanks a lot!
pls how did you slow down the speed of the car and camera without affecting the template too much?
Please refer to Blenderman III's video about that, you can check it out here! ruclips.net/video/FCweynt-EGA/видео.html

5800x, 64gb of ram, and a 4090. Your specs definitely have the beef! Sometimes you just need to be a little creative with memory management
can you make the vehicle smaller in the project or it has to be roughly that size? Trying to figure out my own project
from how I understand it, yes you can increase/decrease the size to a certain degree, but I would recommend doing some perspective shifting if you want it smaller, like instead of having it be a small vehicle, make the environment large to make it feel tiny, of course every vehicle will have slightly different proportions/sizes, the importance is how it fills the frame.
