Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much. I have been looking for this recipe, ever since I got back from China. My host family always made this for breakfast and I really miss it . Thank you!!
Pressure cooked beans is very delicious as well. You can eat with kimchee for the probiotic benefits as the beneficial bacteria feeds off of the insoluble fibers of the beans, and meanwhile, promoting an ultra healthy microbiome (gut bacteria). *Mixed bean congee I never tried. Cool recipe! ❤️
we use this soup and also, instead of soaking beans and lentils, we dry roast it..let it cool...grind to fine powder... use that as Kanji powder to boil in water and add milk(vegan ) to it ...:) very healthy drink:)
Love this recipe! Always bought in store but never tried making it before. I noticed that the red beans were labeled as peanuts and the peanuts were labeled as mung beans? Was that intentional? Love your growing and recipe videos!
After you wash everything how much water you put in the pot to boil? How long to cook? Can this be consider a dessert? Do you add sugar? Can you use slow cooker to cook?
Good recipe, I will try this. Do you have a Jujube tree? The music is lovely but I miss your sweet voice is better than music. I see mistake in names of beans in video, see video at :40 that looks like Adjuki bean not peanut and at :54 looks like peanut not mung that is wrote on video picture. I wrote recipe like this below, is correct? Eight Treasure Congee 1/4 cup green mung bean 1/4 cup soybean, 1/4 cup adjuki, 1/4 cup black bean, 1/4 cup peanut 1/4 cup Jujube fruit sliced 1/2 cup rice (?Jasmine? or maybe Sweet Rice ?) Soak all beans overnight, drain away the water, place all beans in large bowl add the jujube fruit and the rice, cover with water, stir around the beans, fruit and rice to wash it, drain away water then place beans, rice and fruit into a cooking pot with water and simmer 1 hour. Serve in bowl with a little brown sugar sprinkled on top.
how interesting i wish there was a kit of all the types of beans. did u add any salt? i saw only brown sugar to each bowl at the end. and its vegan? no meat or chicken broth

They sell mixes like these in Asian markets, minus one or two ingredients.
Great recipe! I can’t wait to try it with walnuts from my trees, and my jujubes. Love your channel❤️
wow good 😋👌
Is that same as used in Shaolin temple...?
yes
What kind of rice is that?
Only use brown sugar? No herbs required?
Yes, nutritious and healthy but taste like...
Do you add any meat to that or is it traditionally eaten without meat?
No meat added traditionally
soybeans take 3 hours to cook, not 1
