I'm so excited to see videos of this forgotten gem ! Much respect.
Do you have your own shop ?
I thank god I found this video🙏🏼, you’re a savior
You are a hero for documenting all of this. I have been needing to clean the intake manifold on my CL Type S for years but I haven't been able to find detailed info to guide me through it. After watching your recent videos I feel really good about doing this. Thank you for listing all the gasket part numbers as well.
Great info and vid, keep up the great Acura/Honda content.
Very very precise videos you have. Love the info and content.
I appreciate that!
Make sure that your top gasket is inserted properly.Mine was put on upside down during assembly at the factory.
Great job.
would that cause misfires?
My egr ports were clogged up.Do you get any codes for your misfire?@@keithvines6818
I have the automatic version. I'm having misfires. The mechanic I took it to said he replaced all spark plugs and coil packs along with 1 fuel injector and manifold gasket, but my car still doesn't run right. check engine light blinks. I also have a power steering issue that may be triggering the check engine light and the exclamation point light (don't know what else to call it.) Should I get the manifold cleaned like you did on this video?
No, your issues will not be resolved by cleaning the intake manifold.
Is it possible to make a video showing exactly how to remove cruise control cable, accelerator cable, and the cable that controls that butterfly door thing? I can kinda see how you removed the last one but not the first two and I’m kinda scared to mess with them unless I know exactly how to do it
It wouldn't be much of a video. I could share with you the factory service manual PDF that will have the information you're looking for. Reach out to me via ty.macwalters@gmail.com
There's a specific order the intake bolts need to be removed and installed to avoid potential cracks or warping. More than likely fine either way but not worth the risk
I was always told that if you don't have the specific order you basically unbolt/bolt them in a criss cross manner so that the load is more or less released evenly.
Not sure if that's correct but I haven't had any problems doing it that way.
what would a shop charge for this appx? how long estimate? My engine bay is very dusty and dirty and needs an overall cleaning and just good general maintenance, so many shops look dirty and untrustworthy and like the mechanics could care less about clean work, id like to do it myself honestly just dont want to screw it up.
Hard to say what a shop would charge. In labor this would be about 4-5 hrs of labor. With the cost of labor it would be expensive
@@acura2g That is expensive! Shop I just went to says their labor cost is $150. Times 4-5 hours is motivation to do it myself even with the fear of messing something up.
