Pump can be ran for 10 seconds no problem. THIS procedure you showed is the #1 reason most of these pumps fail...no one changes the 30yr old fluid and it rusts/sieves the hydraulic pump leading to Motor Overrun (ABS Code 1) Great video!

Good video! Q: what cleaning agent do you use in that spray bottle? A couple PS pump seal related trivia: a whining noise is often caused by a bad seal on the inlet pipe letting air in. Apple Rubber publishes a Seal Design Guide that explains how to engineer an O-ring; I am thinking it could be used to reverse-engineer exact sizes for otherwise-NLA (or not available outside of a larger kit) Acura/Honda O-rings. I already robbed my Prelude PS pump rebuild kit to get an O-ring to fix whining coming from my Element PS pump, and had to use a good used one on a Civic, so I need a supply of these PS pump inlet hose O-rings.

Hey ty , video was good explanation of possible Hgf and why I had my Hands on mine since new 91 ls and maintained since new , I personally seen and suspect that everyone of these cars had a new radiator replaced first and foremost as I replaced hundreds, anyway a lot of factors involved temp change , cold drive away , maintenance of the correct coolant, fuel quality , egr flow, head gaskets type , age , and mileage , I have done hundreds in 45 years at Honda Acura , couple of things I would show in the videos is packing the cam seals with a grease , and placement of Honda bond in the corner s of specified areas , also the placement of the rear cam plugs with a coating of Honda bond , another important area like you said is the 3 rocker o rings and secured in place not to fall out of place , also where did you access the lifter orings ? All this information depends on the condition of the TL CL when you look at it.

Wish you would have explained that support beam better. You wouldn't even focus the camera on it.

I worked at a shop where we had an Acura Legend come in because it has blowing smoke from the exhaust. Another tech got the job for diagnosis and sold a head job. All repairs were made and the customer left only to bring the car back on a hook. Turns out the guy that did the work failed to torque the cam shaft timing sprocket bolts. Engine jumped timing and damaged the heads. Owner said it failed at idle so not much damage was done to the pistons. I was given the task to rebuild the entire engine which was not fun. My work was spot on and after testing before we gave the car back, the boss was impressed with my work and gave me a bonus. The other guy was upset and quit shortly after.

I rotate my tires at each oil change. With the front passenger tire off the filter is easily accessible. I do the rotation when the oil is draining. I also drain the transmission at each oil change and change the filter every other oil change. 4qts is about all that comes out. I have a 2019 and it started shuddering around 50k miles. New fluid and a filter solved the problem. I’m hoping this will extend the lights of the transmission.

Nicer perspectives. Styling wise the CL is boring to me and I’m ok with that.

All this car needs imo is to be lower and better tires. It’s literally perfect. I could care less that there’s a small community. I admire it. I own a 15’ GTI and the community behind that is so huge it’s just sort of dull to me. Also just how much more raw of a car this is yet also staying comfortable and reliable.. and not too-fast for fun.. it’s just such a nice blend of car.

I bought a 1999 with 116k thinking it would be reliable for many miles. You burst the bubble dude. I thought the Acura was a good product. I should have done my homework. My Cheap little 1998 Mazda has 260 k and still going strong. Buy Mazdas!

This may be a dumb question but, doesn’t it mess up your timing when you pull the timing belt off the cam gears without locking them somehow?

tb/wp a lot easier to do if you removed the radiator. Give you a lot more room to work with and doesn’t take long to do at all.

I have a 01 tl and upon start up usually in the morning. You have to hit the key twice then it will start running rough misfiring hit the gas and it will smooth out then drive perfect..i have maintained the car well.. will cleaning the the T/B help that?..
