Considering a wrap for my cat with attachment issues. The puppy's sweet face in his wrap just about deaded me! Pinkie was very attached today as well! Lovely fabric, lovely gown!
Haha! Yes, he likes to wait until Winnie is sleeping, or else he is not even coming to work. 😭 but things are getting better every day🥰 thank you so much for coming back to see one more video! It was so nice to see your comment 🤗
You did an amazing job! I can't believe it's the first time you've worked with satin, and that lace is beautiful. I love the baby carrier for Winnie! ❤
Aww, Thank you so much for your comment!❤️ I made one project with satin before. I made a Merry Widow corset from a golden coloured satin. It makes me look a bit like C-3PO 😂 and I hated every second of working with that fabric! This project was the first time I made something properly lingerie like, with both satin and lace. It went much smoother than my previous attempts! 😅
Beautiful robe and yes, go for the matching nightgown (negligée) to make it a really gorgeous Peignoir set!... I really enjoy your unique way of showcasing your process : )

Vintage bumwear for the win! lol Hey freeennn! I've been wondering if you were okay. Glad that you're getting better! Make sure to keep getting some rest.🥰 Project paralysis is real. I'm sure that a lot of us here have gone through that at some point or another. Sometimes the project just seems too daunting. But this turned out beautifully! I love the color! (big hugs!)
Awwww! Hello Freenn!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ *inserts a million hearts lol* Thank you so much for thinking about me🥹❤️🤗 I never heard the term "project paralysis" before but OMGGGGGG that's a perfect name for how I felt! 😅 sending you big big hugs back!
So beautiful!! I'm so impressed you pushed yourself to try something new, even if it was scary/you were unsure. I hate going outside my comfort zone. Such a beautiful result, personally I love the shiny satin, looks very fancy!
Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️😀 I feel you about going outside of our comfort zone😶🌫️👀 I honestly love the colour of the satin so much, that I totally forgave it for being shiny! 😅❤️
The robe is so luxurious, and I love the way you incorporated the lace! As a fellow content creator deciding what your making, making it while filming, and then editing the video together in just a single week is insane! And working a "regular" job on top of that... I honestly don't know how you were doing it. I release every other week and sometimes that feels stressful and not enough time. You're videos are enjoyable to watch and your worth waiting for☺🦆
Aww, thank you so much for your comment, Annie! ❤️I really appreciate your supportive words. Oh my goodness ❤️Thank you so much for your kind comment! ❤️ I appreciate your feedback about the posting schedule, too. Thank you for being a part of our sewing gang! 😊🥳
This is absolutely beautiful! You definitely should do the matching nightgown. And hello from the us where I am buried under approximately 25 projects on my weekend from work😂🦆
Great lingerie, looks amazing!! I always look forward to your videos as they are such fun, please don’t change. And uploading your videos twice a month is great. Thank you for the fun!! 🦆
The knives from your flatware make terrific pattern weights! Cover a much larger surface, without any danger of knocking one over and breaking it. I used them when I made that pattern many years ago!
Hahhaha I can’t not accurately say how much I relate to the “I like to lie about learning news skills” bit 😅 I think it looks lovely, and you I’m not sure how the other pattern works in that set as bum wear but wow was it cute too! 🦆 proud of you!
You are so charming! I love your accent, your irreverent sense of humor, and your malapropisms. And your animals add such a wonderful touch! My cat Mercy thinks Pinky is really a hunk! (they resemble each other) as if they were from the same family! Your negligee is beautiful, and very sexy. I would suggest that you be very vigilant about taking your morning pill, or Winnie will be replaced as the resident baby!
Hahahaha, the last part about the morning pill honestly made me chuckle! 😂❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for your fun comment and very kind words!!❤️❤️❤️ I really appreciate you being here!🤗
Love the drama of this garment💚. I started thinking 2 years ago about making a cool robe to be glamorous at home, but, master procrastination I guess 😅. Maybe next winter 🙈🤣 🤞🏻 For Marlena big youtuber future 🤞🏻
AWWW! Thank you so much for keeping your fingers crossed for me! It's much appreciated!❤️ To be honest, I bought satin for a different nightgown ages ago and it's still untouched on my shelf 🙈 So I guess.. Master Procrastinators Unite!! 🥳😂
It’s so pretty!! 🤩 The nightgown in the same colour - or in the same colour as the lace! - would look stunning. Don’t worry about the schedule. Sewing/creative process videos take longer because, if you’re also shooting and editing on top of making an actual item, that is so much more work. You’re not doing a tech review or giving financial advice. Those people can post every week because they’re not making something with their own two hands. Take care of your creativity!
Thank you so much for your comment! 😀❤️ I really appreciate your feedback about the schedule. I see that you are a fellow creator, so thank you so much for the supportive words. 🥹❤️
When working with precious things like vintage lace it helps to hand tack it in place and its much easier to change without damage. This is a beautiful though. Well done for facing your fear!
Don't worry having to upload less than once a week. I have been amazed here and thinking you are superhuman or I am lazy for not being as productive as you lol Pinky is still pro at being a sewing assistant even though he has less work to do now because of Winnie :P Also since this video is about the nightgown I should say something about it too? haha It is absolutely fabulous! I haven't followed you a long time but for me it looks like it exactly your style :D Colour combination is also very lovely
Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️🤗❤️❤️ I appreciate your words so much! I hope you don't really compare yourself to anyone else. You're not lazy! I often think that I am lazy, just to realise later that I was just exhausted or overstimulated. We don't know what life is like behind the scenes for anyone. My partner is very supportive and he helped me a lot in the beginning of making the channel. I wouldn't have been able to make it without him. hahah thank you for mentioning the nightgown, too! 🤗 sending you a big hug from Norway!
I love this, I had a similar idea behind making a fancy dressing gown bc I spend most of my time in a robe and pj's but I didn't have the confidence for a silky fabric and tbh I'm cold blooded so I made it from a heavy weight flannel and I love it, I was able to for the most part recreate one I'd saw an old ad for and nothing feels as nice as swaning about in a floor length robe while cleaning ❤
Marlena darling, forgive me for posting another comment (as usual!) but please take the time needed to recuperate. My daughter took three weeks to come back to normal, so please take it slowly. Mars is challenging us until the sixth of June, so take this time to get well and then return recharged with renewed vigour. You will be very successful, I know it. Be patient with yourself, good things are coming to you. 🥰🥰🥰
Oh, thank you so so much!❤️❤️ I am so sorry to hear about how unwell your daughter was. I hope she has recovered fully now. I was surprised by how much this sickness affected me, too. I was feeling out of breath for a week! Off, I am looking forward to 6th of June! 😅 Thank you so much for your words. I will keep them in my mind whenever I feel a bit down. 🙏❤️
Oh im so glad you're ok! I was a little worried about you, I missed your videos I actually think you should make the nightgown in a conrast color like pink, but with the same lace. I also advocate for making another one on fleece for when you're really sick and satin is just too much but comfy glamour is needed
Awww! Thank you so much for thinking about me❤️❤️ that honestly warms my heart. I love both of your suggestions and will try to make both of them happen! 😀❤️❤️🥳 Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️
So glamorous! That green is beautiful on you. I have one of Gunnar Deathridge's fabulous robe patterns but have yet to work it up. I'm thinking lavender or rose satin when I do. 🌻🍄
I like the part where you sumerized the summery that was lovely. If you are worried about the schedule change affecting devolpment you could try a low effort short as a "teaser" for next weeks video in the off week provided you have time and effort for said low effort short.
Mmm - tomatoes, cucumber, and natriums (the flowers & leaves are edible) is otherwise known as a really good salad. Good for you for growing them from seed. I never got around to it this winter, so I'll be buying my plants from The Market for the Balcony Vegetable Patch. The negligee is fantastic. So elegant. There's a way of using flat cotton/synthetic batting - like what is used for the linings of quilts - to make your own shoulder pads. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Hello Cathy (and poor Steve, getting dragged into it every time😅) 🤗❤️ So nice to see your comment! I wish you lived a bit closer. I would have given you some of my tomatoes because I grew way too many for my balcony "farm"😅 How nice that you spotted all the varieties of plants!!😍 we would definitely be friends in real life if we ever met 🤗 And thank you for the great tip about diy-ing shoulder pads! I might give it a go! Sending you a big hug from Me, Winnie and Pinky 🤗
@@Marlenasewing Two people, one computer - we didn't realize we were sharing the YT account until After the algorithms were properly trained. We are Such luddites in this household... Mm. Tomato plants - the best smelling leaves on the planet. And yes, I think you and I would definitely be grabbing a coffee on the regular (and swapping plants) if we were in the same time zone. I kid you not! Yesterday I was watching ‘Not 4 Everyone’ podcast and it turns out I spent 32 years thinking it’s ‘midrift’ but it’s actually ‘midriff’! And one of the girls there was following the same logic I did and she too just found out😂Sorry, you just said this word so many times and I still can’t stop thinking about how I love linguistics but I failed so miserably)) Pinky was licking your face 😻😻😻 All bad boy but loves his mama) The gown is fucking stunning! If I didn’t know better I’d say you have spent your whole life making them and wearing them. It looks amazing on you. Though I for some reason thought it’d hug the bum but then again it’s a pattern from the 1940s, why should it? As for the uploading schedule - remember it’s supposed to be fun for you. Don’t pressure yourself or let people on the internet pressure you. It’s better to get two videos from you where you clearly enjoy it than 4 where you struggle. Mental health is the most important thing;) And how on Earth you thought only a hundred people will watch you? Oh my goodness!!!🥹 thank you so so much for your comment! It was so uplifting to read ❤️❤️❤️ also, hahaha! Thank you for the message about midriff/midrift😂 I am the kind of person who calls Bulmers Cider "Bloomers" because I read it wrong once, and that's it forever. Whenever I ask my man to buy me bloomers at the store, he just looks at me, all disappointed, sighs, and goes to the store, knowing exactly what I mean😂 I wonder what else do I get wrong? Will never know😂
I’m glad my words worked the way they were intended❤ Ahahah happens to the best of us. Sometimes I’m too tired to use words at all and just say ‘meow’😂😂😂 I taught my man it means I need hugs and silence ))
Aww! ❤️❤️ I wish I could include more footage from it, but I didn't really film much to protect the privacy of the residents. Everyone was so sweet to Winnie. One lady who struggles with communication came running up to us with the biggest smile on her face. She wanted to pet Winnie so badly ❤️ Winnie let everyone pet him as much as they wanted, without pawing at them or biting their fingers. He sat on every persons lap pretty much for as long as I would let him😊. We were there for 1,5 hours and it was absolutely wonderful.
I'm not thinking you were crazy putring Winnie in a Babycarrier, I even commented it under one of your videos that you need something like that to keep him close while working and having your hands free 😂 So I think it's great! :) I'm also not a huge fan of shine materials, but you did a great job :) A matching nightgown could be nice but I also liked the contrast of the pink fabric you sat on with the more greenish color you wore, so that would also be a nice color for a night gown. But since it is for sleeping you should definetly consider using a "breathing" material so look out for satin that's made from cotton, viscose or silk, and consider how comfortable you feel in it, and if you like the fabric for sleeping :) 🦆 (Also I think you have to adapt the text you're showing at the end of the video from 'next saturday' to 'every other saturday' or similar) Have a nice weekend! :)
Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️ I remember your comment about the baby wrap! You and a few other commenters gave me the courage to order it😅 so thank you so much for that!
🦆 I’m sorry to hear that you have been poorly. I hope you’re feeling properly better now. The negligée is beautiful. It’s such a lovely colour, and your craft looks immaculate from here. Ir would be nice to see a matching nightgown.
Thank you so much, Richard! ❤️❤️❤️ I was thinking about you while editing down the 10 min of Pinky sitting in my lap and doing nothing but being cute 😂 I hope you enjoyed seeing your boy back at his post!
Lingerie was the first thing i ever made, it was a neglige and french nickers and camisole. Your neglige turned out beautifully and i loved seeing Winnie 'helping' to cut out bias strips, my cat is equally as helpful when I do that!
Darling! I'm sorry to hear that you've been unwell. We have just been hit this weekend with this mysterious illness going about. I send you big hugs for a speedy recovery. Take vitamin D (1000iu) per 10kgs of body weight: every day. This is the base amount recommended by Professor Dr David Graves, one of the most eminent researchers into vitamin D. I also take a zinc and vitamin C combo during these yucky times. Helps enormously! I hope you get well soon! Kisses, Antonia.
Hello Antonia, Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️❤️❤️ it feels like everyone I know is sick with the same stuff! I hope you're well❤️ I will definitely try out your recommendations. Sending you a big hug! 🤗
WOW! I love it. Looks so elegant on you. I’ve been thinking about making my own vintage negligée’s. I do have a question about the satin you used. Was it stretchy? I find a lot that is rather stretchy and wasn’t sure if it would drape well or be really hard to sew. Oh, and I’d love to see a matching gown. Be well.
Hello Sandy! Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️ The satin I found was not stretchy at all. And thank goodness for that! I don't think I would have been brave enough to touch that with a barge pole! 😅

The button maker is from a company called Prym and I think you can grab it on Amazon 🤗 it works best with covered buttons from the same company. I tried it on metal covered buttons. Maybe it was just me, but I felt that I didn't work as well on them.
Hello, this is the first video of yours that I have come across. I enjoyed it very much. Your satin robe is beautifully executed, and you chose a color that looks good on you. I simply hate the idea that satin is now made of polyester, though! Why spend all that time creating a garment with static electricity that won’t hang right unless you have perfect humidity? I would try it in a cotton sateen (like in fine, high thread count sheets) next time.
Hello😃 thank you so much for stopping by in my corner of the internets😅 I soooooooooop totally agree with you! Satin made from anything but polyester is getting really hard to find 🥲

(big hugs!)

My tiredness feels so validated right now😅

Your negligee is beautiful, and very sexy. I would suggest that you be very vigilant about taking your morning pill, or Winnie will be replaced as the resident baby!

To be honest, I bought satin for a different nightgown ages ago and it's still untouched on my shelf 🙈 So I guess.. Master Procrastinators Unite!! 🥳😂
@@Marlenasewing yay! 🙌🏻😆
Added to my "recreate" list✅❤🔥
I love how you used the lace as an overlay!
I'm glad you liked it! ❤️❤️
When working with precious things like vintage lace it helps to hand tack it in place and its much easier to change without damage.
This is a beautiful though. Well done for facing your fear!
I love the robe and would love to see the nightgown.
Don't worry having to upload less than once a week. I have been amazed here and thinking you are superhuman or I am lazy for not being as productive as you lol
Pinky is still pro at being a sewing assistant even though he has less work to do now because of Winnie :P
Also since this video is about the nightgown I should say something about it too? haha
It is absolutely fabulous! I haven't followed you a long time but for me it looks like it exactly your style :D Colour combination is also very lovely

@@Marlenasewing True words! ♥
your partner is a true team player 💪
I love this, I had a similar idea behind making a fancy dressing gown bc I spend most of my time in a robe and pj's but I didn't have the confidence for a silky fabric and tbh I'm cold blooded so I made it from a heavy weight flannel and I love it, I was able to for the most part recreate one I'd saw an old ad for and nothing feels as nice as swaning about in a floor length robe while cleaning ❤
Making it out of a heavier fabric is a fabulous idea!!! Oh no, now I have to make another robe😂
Thank you so much for your comment! You're amazing! ❤️

Oh, thank you so so much!❤️❤️
I am so sorry to hear about how unwell your daughter was. I hope she has recovered fully now.
I was surprised by how much this sickness affected me, too. I was feeling out of breath for a week! Off, I am looking forward to 6th of June! 😅
Thank you so much for your words.

Awesome suggestion about the fabric choice!😀 I think I will make it happen!

Hello Cathy (and poor Steve, getting dragged into it every time😅) 🤗❤️
So nice to see your comment!
I wish you lived a bit closer. I would have given you some of my tomatoes because I grew way too many for my balcony "farm"😅 How nice that you spotted all the varieties of plants!!😍 we would definitely be friends in real life if we ever met 🤗
And thank you for the great tip about diy-ing shoulder pads! I might give it a go!

Mm. Tomato plants - the best smelling leaves on the planet. And yes, I think you and I would definitely be grabbing a coffee on the regular (and swapping plants) if we were in the same time zone. Le sigh. Ah well, at least we're pen pals!
I haven't actually sewn a shoulder pad yet, but it's just rectangles or rounded triangles sewn to each other on a curve. The modern ones are flimsy...

I kid you not! Yesterday I was watching ‘Not 4 Everyone’ podcast and it turns out I spent 32 years thinking it’s ‘midrift’ but it’s actually ‘midriff’! And one of the girls there was following the same logic I did and she too just found out😂Sorry, you just said this word so many times and I still can’t stop thinking about how I love linguistics but I failed so miserably))
Pinky was licking your face 😻😻😻 All bad boy but loves his mama)
The gown is fucking stunning!
Mental health is the most important thing;)
And how on Earth you thought only a hundred people will watch you? You have a bright personality, you are smart and witty, and talented, of course people love watching you, like duh! And cat and dog therapy on the top? Sign me up, all day everyday😉
Oh my goodness!!!🥹 thank you so so much for your comment! It was so uplifting to read ❤️❤️❤️
also, hahaha! Will never know😂
I’m glad my words worked the way they were intended❤
Ahahah happens to the best of us. Sometimes I’m too tired to use words at all and just say ‘meow’😂😂😂 I taught my man it means I need hugs and silence ))
Omg Winnie field trip makes me cry
I'm also not a huge fan of shine materials, but you did a great job :) A matching nightgown could be nice but I also liked the contrast of the pink fabric you sat on with the more greenish color you wore, so that would also be a nice color for a night gown. But since it is for sleeping you should definetly consider using a "breathing" material so look out for satin that's made from cotton, viscose or silk, and consider how comfortable you feel in it, and if you like the fabric for sleeping :)
🦆
(Also I think you have to adapt the text you're showing at the end of the video from 'next saturday' to 'every other saturday' or similar) Have a nice weekend! :)

Kisses,
Antonia.

WOW!

That button maker. Where can you buy it.
