      hard to imagine it working out. Think about it, any sort of bug or mistake on the auto gear shifter could cause really bad situations like what you said, a car suddenly reversing when on a highway. This is kinda scary, especially since the "manual override" they said it'll have doesn't sound to be something convenient or easily useable and accessible.

      Makes you wonder how comfortable this is to drive for long durations. Resting the hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 allows the arms to relax. If you have to grip the sides of the "wheel", you need to be able to rest the arms somehow when you're driving any non-trivial amount of time. On the pictures I see a wider than usual central console and an indentation in the door. Maybe those are intended for resting the arms, but the comfort of that will depend heavily on arm length.

    • @Levkin
      @Levkin 3 года назад +5

      @John James Keep in mind that in an F1 you would never have to cross over. If you look at rally drivers, they all hold it 9 3 for that precise reason. F1 cars have very precise steering wheels, wherever you turn, the car follows. With regular cars you might notice that's not the case. And the fastest way to get from full right to full left (and vice versa) is to cross over, for which 9 3 grip is the most superior.

  • @FuchsiHD
    @FuchsiHD 3 года назад +4

    My take on the steering wheel is that it could work if the sensitivity of the steering increases continuously with the angle of rotation. The sensitivity could possibly also be made dependent on the speed. So, on the one hand, you could stay in lane at high speeds and, on the other hand, maneuver in small parking lots without ever having to change your grip.That would even make for more security, because people would stick their hands to the wheel.

Another feature was a microphone on the outside because with the custom canopy closed the driver couldn't hear outside the car.

Hearing almost doesn't matter at all(think about how often people blast music, or big rigs which are loud af in the cab). Police have lights so the sound of the siren is redundant.

    The active noise cancellation in the cabin isn't new. My 2015 Accord has an always running ANC that is meant to reduce engine noise. I couldn't tell you how much it helps but it's definitely a quiet ride.

      From my impression of existing cars with ANC, like the 2013+ Honda Accord, I expect it’ll be tuned significantly different from ANC in headphones. I’m sure it’ll be laser-focused on weakening mundane sounds like road and wind noise and not really reduce important sounds like sirens and horns. And I expect the degree to which it cancels noise will be much less aggressive.

      @Nyan Linn Aung well if you drive it normally. Even if you drive a Chiron a t top speed you will still have g forces but not as fast as going from 0-60 in under 2 seconds. And with the roaster it might be under 1 second which is quite fast!
