For anyone wondering, these cars are not communicating with each other for this event. On the center display in each vehicle, the owner scheduled a time for the light show to begin. Because all of the vehicles were scheduled to start the show at the same time we have this event. If you are wondering where the audio is coming from, it is coming from the external speaker, which is located under the hood of the vehicle. This speaker is used for light shows, customization of the horn sound, and to admit a soft hum at low speeds to alert pedestrians and cyclist of a silent vehicle (required by law in some jurisdictions)
Are Teslas a one-hit wonder? Can you select from multiple songs, can you play from media? Do the songs have to be techno? It's a wonder they didn't coordinate the fart sound...though that IS in the cabin.
Until the end, I thought the music was overlayed. But once I realized it was coming from the cars I was blown away. What an impressive feat of collaboration!

At the finish of the light show, can you image those 700± Tesla owners using ASS (Actual Smart Summon) to have their Tesla come to them. That would be a show by itself to see 700 Teslas trying to get to their owners...all at the same time.

They are triggered by rapid changes in contrast, not brightness. 2:50 is more likely to be a cause, but even then this video isn't that flashy. Also, you wouldn't need to warn people of this... it's literally a light show, meaning there will be flashing lights.

Me and my stepbrother thought they were boring cars with no personality, but after seeing one play Christmas music on Christmas eve while it shimmered and opened its doors/trunk made us change our minds. Plus it was really fast. To think it was just a base model 3 lol

(Pretty good stereo setup.) That would equal about 2 % battery used, in a 1 hour show, for the smallest battery Tesla. This show lasted about 4,5 min, which equals about 0,17 % battery used…
Yes, it was a great show! Actually there were 66 (slightly) different programs playing in sync!!! Each row has it's own and each row has three different variations of that. Really amazing work! They are all synced by show start time. As all cars sync their clocks to GPS, they start the show at the same time. The cars also play the music, all together from their car speakers, in sync. Absolutely unreal to see them all do it live...
This video does not portray well where the music is coming from. Is it from the cars, or from set up outside huge speakers… or just an audio overlay. I’ve never been to this kind of event. But what I imagine that synched audio blasting from every car (with windows open) should be almost as impressive as the light show itself.
@giezioba7214 in a Tesla light show the music is played from the cars' speakers. That's why the cars roll the windows down at the beginning of the show and up again in the end. No external sound systems are used. For this video, I added the soundtrack on top of the video's own for the music to play better. You can still hear the original on the background.

It not synced per se, you schedule the light show I’m the interface for a set time for example 9:00 and since all the cars are on the same time, they go off in sync
I am curious how all the Teslas were all in sync cuz usually you tap the screen and then get out of the car and it would be pretty hard to sync them all unless there's some other way that I don't know about. Could you explain more in detail how this worked?
You can time the start of the light show. And as all cars sync their clocks to GPS anyways, they will be in sync when you set the same start time to all cars. At this event we had a tiny local FM-station to broadcast info to the drivers to set their light show start time. Naturally all had been given the programs on USB-sticks to upload to their cars too.
You choose the time you want to start in each car and the car chooses at that time. Each car’s time is in synch automatically so this has the desired effect of people able to do multiple at a time.
This should be redone on New Year's Eve with fireworks all around and professional cameras hahaha. With the same song, everybody wants to rule the world; @ time 00:00
I don't know exactly. But I would assume that the clock on each car is already synchronized to the world clock down to a small fraction of a second. If that is the case, then I would assume that it would be rather straightforward to make each car individually run a light program at a very specific time. They would not necessarily have to be networked together. They could each do it independently at precisely the same time.
This particular light show does not come on car. We got a Christmas one in '21, a New Year's in '22 and this year the Arrival. But happy to share any info you want on or about Tesla.

I hate electric cars but this is pretty neat. Next will be a giant Christmas tree with Teslas as hanging ornaments.

Theres an option to set the start time in the Tesla, I'm sure they all set it for the same time
It not synced per se, you schedule the light show I’m the interface for a set time for example 9:00 and since all the cars are on the same time, they go off in sync

The cars were synced to each other. There weren’t people in the cars flashing their lights.

I am curious how all the Teslas were all in sync cuz usually you tap the screen and then get out of the car and it would be pretty hard to sync them all unless there's some other way that I don't know about.

You can time the start of the light show. And as all cars sync their clocks to GPS anyways, they will be in sync when you set the same start time to all cars. At this event we had a tiny local FM-station to broadcast info to the drivers to set their light show start time. Naturally all had been given the programs on USB-sticks to upload to their cars too.

You choose the time you want to start in each car and the car chooses at that time. Each car’s time is in synch automatically so this has the desired effect of people able to do multiple at a time.

How do they sync all of the cars together perfectly?
I don't know exactly. But I would assume that the clock on each car is already synchronized to the world clock down to a small fraction of a second. If that is the case, then I would assume that it would be rather straightforward to make each car individually run a light program at a very specific time. They would not necessarily have to be networked together. They could each do it independently at precisely the same time.

It does have the light show yes. But guess it will be a while before anyone can really buy it. And years before anyone in Europe.

This particular light show does not come on car. We got a Christmas one in '21, a New Year's in '22 and this year the Arrival. But happy to share any info you want on or about Tesla.
