Making the front bolt item square (4 flats rather than 2 flats) will reduce a slight more weight from the extended tool holder Great video, love the accent mate 👌
Hi Michel. Thank you for a very educational video which also ably demonstrates your own engineering abilities and the versatility of your shaper. This is the content we all look forward to each week. 👏👏👍😀
Hi Michel, yes I would like to see you taking the shaper apart and you fixing a new nylon block to the shaper arm. Oh and nice job on altering the tool holder! Cheers from London,
A great example of adapting what you have to what you need to do. I love seeing what goes on inside machines - so if you are of a mind to film the repair I shall certainly watch it. Thank you!
Amything to do with a Shaper should be filmed for historical reference! Of course we want to see the repairs to the shaper. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
Hello Michel, nice relaxing video of getting some shop needs out of the way. I enjoy your explanations and chip making and I would like to see the shaper repair as well. Cheers and thanks!
He Michel, natuurlijk altijd goed om een reperatie te zien aan de schaafbank. Ik zal er met veel interesse naar kijken en wellicht zelf ook uitvoeren indien nodig. Mooi stukje werk trouwens met de beitelhouder.
Finally some shaper action! Ofcourse we would like to see you repair the shaper! It will be helpful to see what I can face once I start on the restauration of my shaper!
Please make the video of the shaper maintenance! I have a similar shaper that hasn't been used in about 50 years, and I'm really interested in it's restoration and ongoing maintenance. Thanks!
As always, thank you for the content. One of the things I've just learned about the shaper,in my short time using one , is the importance of the relationship between the cutting edge of the tool and the imaginary deflection point of rotation the entire clapper box/ tool post assembly. The more forward the cutting edge is,in reference to the ram stroke of the cutting tool tends to make it dig in. The further back the cutting edge of the tool in relation to the point of rotation of the tool post clapper box will have it lift out of the cut. this type of tool holder, by mounting on the backside of the shank will help with that. Of course I would like to see you show the shaper modification or maintenance. I'm not sure how the plastic block gets bigger, but maybe it's the bore in the block getting loose around the kingpin ?
G'day Rusty. Very nice modification on the New Tool Holder, & at least you know It's square ⬛️ & where you want it, & it does a very good job at whatever angle you want. As far as the 200mm internal right angle in the shaper, wondering if an offset tool holder will work over the virticle downside section. Example the toolholder with an " L " shape tool holder on the bottom edge allowing 100% downward cutting. 😮😅 If that makes sence ? Ted
Of course I want to see it. I still have to work on it myself. I think I have the same problem. I make a new lantern pieces and you adjust the tool. if you had done the 2 sides first, holding on to the part you milled off first. you would have been done with 2 setups😉😉
Your deburring tool on sped up footage sounds like a dentist's drill😬! Of course we want to see you take your shaper apart to fix it! I can compare the insides to mine then and see if there's anything else I need to fix! Regarding which way round you put your extended toolholder, I always install mine with the body of the toolholder behind the tool. That way, the cutting forces dont try and stretch the bolt threads, but I doubt either of our shapers are powerful enough for that to make that much of a difference!
Hi Michel, not sure if quite enough of us has said yes to the shaper repair video. Just in case here's another thumbs up!! I was thinking about your original tool holder, could you have sleeved the eye and made a smaller bolt? Not that it matters it was a very enjoyable fix and the conical coolant nozzle worked really well!! Have a great weekend!!
I enjoy your videos, thank you for making them. Great work on the Shaper tool. It gives me good ideas for my own. What is the model of your Deckel Milling Machine? And what make and model is your shaper?
By all means, make the shaper repair video. Machine repair is as much a part of this hobby any other project we undertake, and often of greater importance and sometimes urgency.
Hi Rusti. Nice job on the toolholder. I remember being told how a shaper achieves the slow forward/fast return by means of the bullwheel and slider block. I thought the people that thought of that were very clever. It will be good to see inside the machine. Do you think the nylon part is original? Nylon is not very good with oil. I wonder if the nylon part is a previous owner's repair. Keep doing what you do. It's always interesting. Mart.
I think I'd enjoy watching you make a cup of coffee. Yes to the shaper repair!

Yes I would like to see you repair the shaper internals 🤞
Yes we want to see the problem with the shaper fixed......Perhaps a bronze block would be more reliable than nylon.
Nice makeover, Michel.
It's the same tool holder you started working on when you visited my shop.
I need to build one of those tool holders.....have been using direct mounted and smaller bits in an Armstrong holder.
Thanks!
Yes yes yes please share the shaper fixing, we'd love to see inside it and your approach to all the problem solving!
Fix it, it will be a nice video 👋
You deserve many more Subscribers i think.
Keep up the good work 💪
Yes please to the shaper repair
As always, great entertainment.
You practically modified the donated tool to be the same as the one You already made. Never mind, we all had fun.
Please make the video of the shaper maintenance!
I have a similar shaper that hasn't been used in about 50 years, and I'm really interested in it's restoration and ongoing maintenance. Thanks!
Nice work.
Thanks Paul.

Am I interested? You're damn right I'm interested!

What is the model of your Deckel Milling Machine?

The Deckel is the FP1, same as Stefan and Mr. Crispin.
The shaper is a AI Hembrug. Made in the Netherlands.
@@Rustinox Thank you. They are beautiful machines
Tear it down and get er done!
