Do what you can to effect change and accept what you cannot. Flawed, dammit, we're all so flawed.
She’s not reliable and IMO doesn’t genuinely comprehend addiction. One of the hallmarks of alcoholism is the mental obsession-the constant thinking about alcohol. And celebrities writing books about their sobriety journey when they don’t yet have multiple years of sobriety isn’t helpful. One year sober is barely a beginning.
Exactly! Someone who has been in treatment as many times and relapsed aa many times as him had no credibility to write a book. In his book he was obviously not healed. And on talk shows talking about helping ppl?😳I have been sober 20 years and would never date anyone with less than 10 years sober, the relapse rate is so high.
@@Tempo50I agree the book was written way too soon. But he was encouraged to write it by his manager, sponsor and others . However, he never said he was completely cured, he said he had to fight his addictions everyday. In hindsight the probability of relapse was very high and I wasn’t really shocked that he died. The circumstances of his death though aren’t really clear especially with the narrative put out by unnamed sources and a friend of the ex Hurwitz. I believe there is also more to come out about the creepy assistant and his role in Matthew’s death too.
She did an interview (while he was still alive!) telling people he once glued his hands to his legs in a desperate state of mind, claiming she was a friend. I remember thinking that doesn't sound like a friend telling stories like that to the press, that sounds and looks like maybe a former friend who was/is an addict and tries to make money. I could be terribly wrong of course but it certainly didn't look good.
Maybe he said he had a problem with alcohol because it’s less frowned upon than drugs, or maybe he became one after they were together. Who know. Either way, it’s sad. Bless him & the millions of others who suffer from some form of addiction.
He was going to get drugs no matter what. What’s sad is that Matthew could never overcome his depression, and need to medicate. It’s pointless to blame anyone else. However I absolutely agree with vigilance over and prosecution of doctors who are actually drug dealers. They’ve been hiding in plain sight for far too long.
@@dan7549 Kayti is not biologically related to Julie, which may explain a few things. But both she and Perry are children of wealth, privilege, connections. Matt's father, John Bennett Perry, was a very busy B-list actor known best as the handsome spokesmodel for Old Spice. Oh, the crush I had on him.
Yes, addiction is insidious. I don't think slavery and theft are the answer. You're saying the rehab doctors should work for free? Or the people paying the rehab doctors should work for free? If you really believe that, you can work for free to pay for other people's rehab. And I'm pretty sure Matthew Perry could afford rehab, so that certainly wasn't the problem here.

what's the significance of cops' not finding drugs when they searched the house? maybe the last ketamine in the house was used to give him that final injection? or is there some implication the assistant got rid of other drugs before calling 911?

It’s also not fair to Lizzie Caplan to say Rachel was the love of his life as their relationship lasted 6 years. Things happen for a reason and both woman have moved on. The truth eventually comes out it may take time but it will all come out.
Who is this person? He had a female assistant that he wrote about in his book. But she was not a girlfriend. She was gay. Wonder where she is now and what happened. Seemed they were close

Thank god they got caught. This is consistent in our healthcare system. I’m crippled by not wanting to be a nurse anymore but I don’t know what to do. I hate our healthcare system, and I want no part of it anymore. His end was devastating to me. I had just picked up his book a a month or so before his death. I was so excited to follow his journey. I was so happy he spoke out and advocated for better care for addicts. His death made me cry real tears. Not metaphorically; I cried. I was looking to him for inspiration to curb my habits and change my health around and go to therapy…….so when he died…..I gagged. It just all felt like a long well written inventory of his life and a final goodbye. I’m not the type to cry for celebrities…..but he made me cry. I was so excited I took the book to work to share with addicts who were coming in with addiction related illnesses/infections. One guy in particular who was a young vet. I thought because his age was into the tv show friends that the book would be inspirational to him too. It shocked me to learn of his insecurities…..cause he was always my favorite on the show and in interviews. There was much of the real Mathew in Chandler Bing. I also thought he was so attractive. So to learn about his insecurities was eye opening. . . I was so gung-ho for his Instagram , and his Batman posts and his dog and new outlook on life and his mission to help. The body gets weaker…….was my take away. Get help NOW. . He will be missed by many for a long long time. The show will run on syndication and new fans will be born……and they too will be heart broken over it. . Sigh 😢 . I dont think matthew perry would recklessly take his life. His phe omenal portrayal of Teacher Ron Clark showed his character. I remember the day last year i bought his book, i felt so strong someone harmed him. His face on the cover seemed so alive. No I think something untoward happened. 🎭💔💫🙏
Do you know any addicts? They have one thing in common; They all lie. When he was promoting his book and during the “Friends” reunion special he was almost incoherent. He never stopped using. I feel bad for him but it was ultimately on him to get clean.
So Mathew Perry played no part then? It’s all someone else’s fault? No one forced him to take drugs. He chose that path himself. No one could stop him taking drugs but himself. He sought them out. He paid for them. We live in a world where everyone plays the victim role instead of taking responsibility for their OWN life choices!!
I agree with you as a recovering alcoholic. People have blasted me on social media for saying this but it is my responsibility to not take the first drink. This is the first thing I learned in AA. Matthew was big on saying addiction wasn't his fault. Yet taking the first abusive substance was. It is not easy, but recovery and a better life are possible. It requires willingness. Those involved have to be held accountable, as well.
If you'd watched it to the end you would have heard her say that, it was one of the last things she said in the interview. If Matthew were alive to say, he wouldn't want those people prosecuted, he would take responsibility for his actions-- it's those that loved him that want those people to spend their lives in jail (and anyone who has loved someone self destructive).
She seems to deflect from her own choices and interactions with him. And with caution. Unbeknownst to us. Such an interesting choice of companionship/friend or lover on behalf of Matthew to “speak” on the situation. I don’t trust her…she knew and benefited from his habit. Period. Let’s quit giving her air time.
I am convinced he was already dead when the assistant left the house. He then proceeded to try and cover up the timeline . And he disposed of the drugs before he left.
I really doubt Matthews death will be a good wake up call. If it didn’t happen with MJ and Prince why would it happen now, I think we all thought that with the others
I've been on a medication assisted recovery program for 25 yrs. I've never used in all those years. But before this program, I fell off the wagon probably 30 times. So, don't lump everyone into one category. That's foolish.
Ever watch the Dr Seuss movie about the star bellies? It's the same concept yet happening with humans. Most people are sheep and ink is just screams it
It's so evolved to judge people by how they choose to present themselves, especially women in this toxic rape culture. I bet you are the epitome of trendy attractiveness, my my.
I think we all can assume that he is not the only one, and there will be many many more celebrities non-celebrities that doctors have been propping up with drugs. I think the doctor that refused Matthews request for more medication, and that was in a clinic setting legally prescribing ketamine dodged a bullet with this one..
Hollywood… I live far away from this place and I know for 100% that if I had struggled with something like this my friends and family members would have never let me battle alone
It gets me when people say accidental death. This was no accident. He knew very well that taking so much could kill him. Maybe he didnt care. Maybe he was fed up of dealing with depression and his addiction issues. For him it was the easiest way out.
My 47 year old brother last year. The most horrendous 12 months of my life. Over prescribed medication. It seems to be an excepted medical norm or necessary evil, noone in the family knew.

Loved so many things about this guy... hurt to see him go. But this case is simply not a world-changer anymore than the loss of anyone (everyone), else throughout human history. Do what you can to effect change and accept what you cannot. Flawed, dammit, we're all so flawed.
Yet she thought he didn't have a drinking problem?! Yeah, super insightful and genuine...
"Alone,you lose ..." 😢
Agreed! Looks like she’s seeking her 15 minutes
I wish this person would stop. She has tried to interject herself into life since his passing. Enough already.
Looking for attention. Imo it's just making her look worse.
For being his assistant at one point, she says he wasn’t a big drinker. He talked about how much he used to drink.
Maybe not during that time
That term relative, like fast
Her oversized breasts got in the way of her thinking.
Maybe he said he had a problem with alcohol because it’s less frowned upon than drugs, or maybe he became one after they were together. Who know. Either way, it’s sad. Bless him & the millions of others who suffer from some form of addiction.
In no way is she Matthew Perry’s EX . Yikes
Why’s that?
☠️
Hopefully this will mean others who have the same experience will be able to charge doctors, not just celebrities
Yes very odd this assistant shot him up and then left i believe to go shopping. Come on.
Who is that? How was she his ex?? Doesn’t fit. She looks and talks as though she’s come off the street.
Rode hard put away wet
Be kind
@@etiger675don’t be fryel
She is Julie Andrews grand daughter no biggie.
Addication is insidious. Rehab should be free 😔💛
why? are hospitals free?
Hospitals free for people on welfare, but God help the rest of us who work for a living .
@@AubreyWilkinsWurstenthat is such a nutty answer.
No, she's obviously saying healthcare like rehab in this country should be paid for by the government (via taxpayers) like the roads and libraries and so forth
Not that medical professionals should be forced to work pro-bono.
At my facilty one vial is $72 USD. They called him a moron. Shame on them.
The Doctors -> Fill my pocket & I’ll fill your bucket ‼️
Yeah she looks like she's not on drugs either 😂😂
She looks anorexic. Not like she’s on drugs. She seems perfectly sober to me.
By the way, I’d like to see which model you look like.
loser mentality
Are you a friend of hers? Or perhaps you're Katie...?!
And why do you keep saying "model" in all your comments?! She's not a model. And yes the tattoo looks awful and sickly. It's not for everyone. No need to get so defensive!
PS: She should have reported the doctors.
When Perry was found dead in the hot tub, everyone who has ever been around addiction knew instantly that he had been using.
Great interview
what's the significance of cops' not finding drugs when they searched the house? maybe the last ketamine in the house was used to give him that final injection? or is there some implication the assistant got rid of other drugs before calling 911?
Friends don't let friends do drugs.
Doctors need to be held accountable and responsible for over prescriptions.
I don’t think it’s fair to bring Rachel Dunn into all this, they split up 20 years ago and by all accounts she is now married and has a family. It’s also not fair to Lizzie Caplan to say Rachel was the love of his life as their relationship lasted 6 years.
Things happen for a reason and both woman have moved on.
I think there is more to Matthew’s death than what is currently known and it’s sad that the narrative put out by unnamed sources and a friend of the bitter ex are believed.
The truth eventually comes out it may take time but it will all come out.
Who is this person? He had a female assistant that he wrote about in his book. But she was not a girlfriend. She was gay.
Wonder where she is now and what happened. Seemed they were close
This gal doesn't say she's anything but an assistant who considered herself his friend. She briefly explains why she had to leave him finally but she never says she was his girlfriend, that's just to get us to watch.

Sigh 😢

can i just say, as someone sufferring from addiction to cope with untreated bi polar, cptsd, and crippling daily anxiety and panic attacks that last hours - thankyou for actually caring and being the sadly rare person in these comments to actually be a human being. Reading these comments has made me so unbelievably unwell, its 1am, i needed to stop but i couldnt because i was so shocked at how unbelievably cruel, moronically uneducated but simultaneously cocky and self centred a large majority of the comments iv read tonight, and I got so angry i tunnel visioned. Seeing this broke that minor cycle i was having and reminded me hey im in the real world and there are real people out there.
I have no idea who you are, or what you have gone through, but thank you for existing - youve saved my night, i just took my sleeping meds and now ill be able to attend my medical review tomorrow after being discharged from hospital for trying to kill myself last week and that is so important to me you have no idea.
I love the human that you are, if you ever have any doubts in life, I hope that this comment reminds you that by just making a simple comment expressing your soul on the internet, you have impacted another person's life in a (In the grand scheme of a whole life) small but simultaneously profound and significant way.
I don't know what to say to express how much happiness fullfillment and love i wish for you in your own life right now. There isn't a social norm or phrase to express it. But i hope you know what i mean
This will always break my heart!!💔💔💔😢😢
It's impossible to stop an addict, the lies add up
I dont think matthew perry would recklessly take his life.
Sure, he’s dead. But it’s cool that doctors do this? Or just for celebrities?
I agree with you as a recovering alcoholic. People have blasted me on social media for saying this but it is my responsibility to not take the first drink. This is the first thing I learned in AA. Matthew was big on saying addiction wasn't his fault. Yet taking the first abusive substance was. It is not easy, but recovery and a better life are possible. It requires willingness. Those involved have to be held accountable, as well.
You should read his memoir. He was quite aware that he played a role in his addictive patterns.
including you.
It’s obvious he died and the people were there, they stole the drugs and left him.
Yes. Yet the woman is baffled.
The problem is that it is an addiction. That means your mind is controlled by the substance.
I've been on a medication assisted recovery program for 25 yrs. I've never used in all those years. But before this program, I fell off the wagon probably 30 times. So, don't lump everyone into one category. That's foolish.
Who told women 'ink' was attractive ... smdh
Ever watch the Dr Seuss movie about the star bellies? It's the same concept yet happening with humans. Most people are sheep and ink is just screams it
@@dirkjackson8939😂
It’s not attractive at all
It's so evolved to judge people by how they choose to present themselves, especially women in this toxic rape culture. I bet you are the epitome of trendy attractiveness, my my.
Couldn't agree more. Skin is so much more attractive.
I think we all can assume that he is not the only one, and there will be many many more celebrities non-celebrities that doctors have been propping up with drugs. I think the doctor that refused Matthews request for more medication, and that was in a clinic setting legally prescribing ketamine dodged a bullet with this one..
No one ever would have been able to use 60 pills a day. Sad.
05:57 Sheesh, tattooed up to her fingers! I think I'll have a hangover in the morning, just seeing and hearing her.
What a ridiculous comment

As if she’s not on drugs…
Surely that is not an ex girlfriend 😂
I highly doubt it. Notice the woman Matthew loved … not a single tat on her
Well , “ex” is a loose term. Maybe she was his assistant, and anything can and does happen when people are high.
But why didn’t you report these doctors when you saw it happening?….
She doesn’t seem concerned about Mathew at all😢
grown man on drugs from a young age. he was his own worse enemy. you cant blame anyone else
Mathew spent they predicted 8 million on rehab😢😢😢. Never worked😢😢😮
What a traffic loss of such a beautiful person
Poor Perry. I think he knew that no matter how many roles he took, he was never going to get away from Chandler.
He continued to make millions on it with the syndication of Friends. can’t feel his pain because he was famous for playing Chandler.
😮😮😮wats wrong with her arm????

EX ASSISTANT!!!!, NOT EX Partner
Cigarette ashtray aroma a mile away with this one
😂
This ex looks more like a drug supplier rather than ex assistant!
For sure
Well guess what, Perry was a multi millionaire and a FULL BLOWN addict, so maybe quit with the stereotypes
I agree
😊right? People so judgemental. My nephew has never drank or did drugs and is a psychologist, but sports tattoos and piercings.

She was never his assistant!!!!
Nor his girlfriend. LOL
This is so sad 😞
It gets me when people say accidental death. This was no accident. He knew very well that taking so much could kill him. Maybe he didnt care. Maybe he was fed up of dealing with depression and his addiction issues. For him it was the easiest way out.
Jesus. He should be playing at a much higher level. Wow.
My 47 year old brother last year. The most horrendous 12 months of my life. Over prescribed medication. It seems to be an excepted medical norm or necessary evil, noone in the family knew.
What doctor told her that size of those implants would look good?
She looks washed up!
Nice hooters though
She NEVER said she was his ex. They were friends and she also worked for him so your title is clickbait. Please 🙏🏽 change it. Where is the integrity of journalism??????
He never said he was a journalist.
So sad that he had to die before these guys were called to account. More 'stars' friedns need to speak up so we lose no more precious people.
So tragic!
She is not his ex… she was an assistant
They dated briefly in 2006 and became his assistant in 2011
YIKES

This woman is brave to share what she knows and say the truth about doctors involved and those who will continue to.
The judgement part of your brain is broken ..

I love him. Always have since his one episode on just the 10 of us. I cried for his passing over and over again and one day I will visit his grave. Even though I live where chandler did and the rest of the cast.
That girlfriend looks like she dabbled as well.
He was too good for her!
dabbled? that's a generous assessment.
Not a girlfriend
Please, people that are addicts and their never ending mind games with themselves and those “they love” are exhausting. We all have free will, take some responsibility
Addicts don’t have free will sadly. That’s what the disease is about. They have no self control.
So sad.

Like the woman assistant said, about the guy assistant shooting him up and then just leaving, I always found that suspicious, when I first heard he died and it was mentioned he was left alone that his assistant left him alone. When I heard that, I thought hmmm was Matthew murdered.
But there was text between the doctor I believe and someone else where it was Said, lets see how much money we can get out of this moron.
Regardless if Matthew was an addict or not, those 5 people arrested are responsible for his death.. they were giving him way more then they should have, for money. Absolutely disgusting. Like the woman assistant said what kind of friend is that to do that to him. The guy assistant who left him alone, he was so involved in his death. 😢 just so sad.
