    I have all Godox units now... I love the fact that I can set and trigger all the lights with my godox trigger from my TT350, 860's and even the MS200's I have. I don't have the space to use such powerful units as these but they are tempting for the larger unbrellas.. Thanks for sharing...

    The DPIII series is very nice. You have the 110V version and that gives you a full power recycle time of ~2 seconds. In Europe we have the 220V version with a recycle time of ~1 second. The DPIIIV series has a universal power sully which i think would give you ~1 second. These won't do HSS because they are voltage controlled you would need the QTII IGBT controlled lights for that. Your
    XProIIL has a single pin mode which would let you use it on any brand of camera.

    Great buy. £400 in uk just now. Minimum power is 1/64 which is sometimes an issue in small studio spaces.

      I use large modifiers with these so the 1/64 doesn’t come in to play with me. But it was an amazing deal

    I just got the DP600III-V. As you say LED modeling light instead of a bulb. I wanted an AD400 or 600 to go with my AD200 for a job but was having trouble with the cost. Saw the DP and got it, a bounce back umbrella, and a mag mod 2 cold shoe adaptor for under $400. 2/3 of the AD400. I debated the DP1000 but when I got this light, first thing I did was put it at full power, point it down my dark hallway, and hit test. Shocked myself at the big blast. Hard to imagine a 1000 at full power. If I would have seen the sale the 1000 would have been in play.

      I just couldn’t pass it up. I love the extra power in the giant umbrellas. But the 600 is probably an amazing light as well. For plug ins- you can’t beat these things even at regular price.

    Adorama - love/hate relationship with their shipping! Picked up a new in box Fuji X-E3 for $399 last Black Friday and they miss-keyed my address changing the country code from USA to Mexico. And UPS tried to deliver it to Mexico. A VERY tense few days was had til I could get the box redirected to me. Of course, it wasn’t their fault…eyeroll.

    Great review. I have a Broncolor Siros 800S and want to add extra probes to the setup. I am between this Godox and Elinchrom BRX500 and since Godox has never technology i will choose Godox. I will use two of the probes for strip box and one for the background. Do you think i may face a color shift? These products have different K values. Can i trigger the Godox flashes with Broncolor transmitter?

  • @DA-lp4rh

    Godox is releasing an updated X-pro trigger that has a single pin isolation mode - it keeps the unit from messing with the camera's auto white balance...because it turns out all the smart trigger circuitry messes the AWB up all the time; not that that's an issue for someone who shoots custom white balance...but if you're out and about with a Godox trigger and need auto white balance - better to have the newer trigger. The single pin mode will also let you keep a WYSIWYG view on a mirrorless system without having to go in and out of flash and no flash mode.

    That's a crazy price. I bought my Einstein 650's for $500.00 each back in 2017. At half the price, these are a no brainer with considerably more power. Adorama, had my problems with them. I contacted them through a webform 6 times and called without a resolution with a bracket fix for the Godox system. I'm really on the fence dealing with them. Their customer service is fractured.

    I’ve got 2 ad1200s and a 600, cool thing is the ad1200 has an ac adapter. 2 1200s is all I pretty much ever need, it seems like it’s a lot easier to get ratio and color more where I want it than with my qt’s…the qts always come out way warmer…so much so that the made yellow catchlights where the ad1200s were white. Weird stuff. I’m definitely godox all the way though, so much cheaper. My friend has 4 ad2400s….I have no idea why he always ends up using my 1200s whenever we go on location.
    He’s on bron too🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m slumming it with parabolix and Mola😂
    He’s actually a good photographer though I just like blowing money

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  Год назад +1

      Well the Mola is probably one of my favorites… but I am getting great consistent color from the 1,000s. The QTs forego color consistency for speed. They do shift a lot to cool in higher speeds. I am ok with a longer duration and solid color.

      @@kaskoPhoto I think the one I have is just messed up😂 the thing has short circuited the outlet a time or two. That being said I couldn’t be any happier with the ad1200. They’ve made my life so much easier, and I’m a really sloppy photographer so I need all the help I can get

    I got the 400w variation , for the same reason that it was so cheap and I couldn't pass it up, and wanted ac power in studio vs keeping batteries charged. The recycle time is abysmal but fine if not doing fast action shots, and power doesn't go below 1/16 which is weird but workable. I'd imagine the 1,000w version you purchased would hopefully not have these issues?

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  Год назад

      Well I never go below 1/2 in the studio so I can’t even say what it goes down to… but the recycle is about 2 seconds at full power.
