Let's bring some justice back in the game... please. Your model does an amazing job, of being as sophisticated as natural, as superficial as moody. She even snaps some traits of a young Kate Bush (a huge plus, undoubtedly), which is something more than rare ! I'd like to thank her for being the perfect "support" of your work, and researches into sculpting light with small gear and accessories. Anytime she's back, I'll be too. Because highly skilled models make a difference between valuable photographs and (only) interesting images. Thank you [her name here]. 👏😲
Thank you. As we could see, you don't need big and expencive modifiers. You just need to know how it works. Experiment with what you have. Great job, als always.
Love this style of portrait, very high fashion look. But your right it is quite hit and miss with speed lights ie no modelling lamp. As always great shots!!
This was great, I sometimes shoot in a space so small, the typical defusers end up taking up way too much space,,, lets see if santa cluase brings me some magnet mods!
I loved the thumbnail, btw 😂 - unrelated, have you ever considered leading a workshop? I live in Washington state but I would fly for a workshop lead by you.
I will be doing a studio workshop in the NY area soon. I only do 1 or two a year and it’s limited to a very small number. Large groups just don’t work. Send an email and I’ll let you know. john@kasko.photo
The Magmod system comes with a ND filter for the flash. I wondered why would I need to place a ND filter on my flash if I can adjust the power settings. Well, as my grandfather told me, just keep living 🤣!
If your flashes overheat increase ISO. It will be easier on your model as well. Camera producers have gone a long way since 2000s. You can drive that ISO to 800 or even 1600 and it will look just fine for anything you are intending to use it for.
That doesn't work for every situation. When you increase your ISO you're also increasing the ambient light in your image as well, as ISO affects exposure globally. It causes more problems more often than not.
For when on can't bounce flash, like outside, which one is better the magsphere or the softbox from rougue flashbender? The second is bigger but also very close to the lightsource... i don't know if it makes a difference Thanks in advance

She does make me look better than I am for sure.

It is but that is what makes it fun - sometimes. 😂

I’ll stick with flashes that don’t overheat versus changing the way I shoot to compensate for an issue with the flash.

Great Video!
Thank you.

Both will work- better is the one you spend time learning to use.
I still use my Gary phone modifiers will never get rid of them
They do the job!
0:03 should have been your thumbnail. :)
😂😂😂 I think she is a little (not a lot) more pleasing to the eyes
Based on the thumbnail, I prefer no modifier. 🥸
😂😂😂 that was funny! Thank you
