legends god they're legends i am so lucky to have been around with 4 of the stones rip Charles !!!!!! they been together for more than 60 years more than their wifes unbelievable
BACK to there ROOT`s & STILL GOT IT ! These Cats CHANGED the American Music land Scape & put us BACK-On-TRACK ! & Ron was ALWAY`s a Stone from the Get-Go
I love Mick's harpin. He's like the Keith Richards of harmonica. Simple techniques, nothing tricky, but the riffs are super creative and they sound great. Keith once said of Mick, that he's himself, he's at his best as a musician, when he's harpin.
' Blue & Lonesome ' mainly happened because Keith & Ronnie tempted Jagger to get his harp out when the 'new' sessions weren't satisfying them! (mainly the sound in the Studio I think) Inspired Album it is too!! 😍
I give a massive THANK YOU to mr. Brian Jones for teaching mick how to play the harmonica. Brian is a legend when is comes to any instrument he could get his hands on.
Listen to Jammin' With Edward. There's a couple of tracks where Mick plays some beautiful long solos. Personally I never understood why Sugar Blue was brought in on Some Girls to play harp when has always shown how good he is with it.
Listen to Keefs excellent chords at 1:15, it reminds me of the movie Hail Hail Rock & Roll, when Chuck Berry told Keef, 'Man you play some pretty chords" what are you doing in a rock band or something along those lines, Chuck was a dam good guitar player too, talking about awesome chords ...
Rationally I understand that they actually do practice BUT........it's just that after all these years you'd have to think that they would have it just about right by now, and kind of leave it for the concert to work itself out.. Now a sound check I understand. Having said all that, they certainly appear to really love their music. Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems that they are just playing a song but I can say that's not just it. Mick Jagger playing the harmonica it's so classic why am I saying that?? I'm saying that because it was inherited by one of the legends Brian Jones I can feel Brian Jones with them
Probably a Hohner Marine Band which was the harp every blues player played. He's noted for his stage presence but is really underestimated as a harp player. I don't know if Brian Jones taught him but he's an incredible harp player. Thanks Mick.
@@crimsonchrome3012 I had no idea! I’ve been using Lee Oskars for years and apart from 9 Below Zero’s Mark Feltham and, of course, Lee Oskar himself, I’ve never seen a pro play them. And I’ve heard so many criticisms of them over the years too - which is really unfair because they’re one of the most responsive harps I’ve ever played, and are really easy to bend notes on. I’m strictly amateur and not the greatest harmonica player in the world, but it’s gratifying to hear that Mick Jagger and I have the same taste in harmonicas!
i read ketihs book, and he said that, as a harp player, he would put him up with the best in the world. WHAT? you had one of the best playing for you on miss you. sugar blue. for a man of his stature in the rock world, if this is the best he has, he is definitely not a player. his tone is wheezy and thin.
I would say that Mick is a good harp player. But the greatest? Brian Jones rocked the instrument, of course, but then there were the likes of Little Walter before him. I’ve heard Mark Feltham of Nine Below Zero do things on a harmonica that beggars belief, and that’s before we get into the John Poppers of the world. I suspect that Keith is letting band loyalty get in the way of objective thinking. And I agree with you about Miss You. Thats some awesome harmonica playing. Sugar Blue had a lot of soul in his playing to an extent that Jagger doesn’t.
Jagger on harmonica is like Richards on guitar...not that technically skilled, but great riffs, with such a bluesy feel..Jagger plays nothing like John Popper on the harp in terms of speed, breath control and technique, but listening to him is great. Mick is at his best when he's harpin.
It’s a very common nick-name for the harmonica, especially in blues circles. It probably came about to the pattern of the Reed plate being loosely similar to the arrangement of the strings on a harp, but I expect it was mainly because it started with the same three letters!
he's not spectacularly good on harmonica but audiences would go mad (mad happy) if they do this on every concert....or do they? i haven't seen stones concert since 80is...lol!
ooops...i also saw them in 90ies, in paradiso in amsterdam ,sorry, i forgot that...but i dont think he played harmonica there either, not that i remember.
The Stones were great, absolutely. Mick’s harp is pretty low level amateur. Brian was better, heck John Lennon was more original on the harp. Nevertheless, Stones did a bunch a pretty good blues-rock songs.
Tone like a beginner , plays only 3 or 4 holes - only pucken (bad)- he can't do a simple tongue blocking -after 60 years he cannot really play harp. And this is a mistery to me , such an incredible musician , who wrote epic rock songs , is otherweise such a bad musician !

Inspired Album it is too!! 😍
Mick is actually a very good and underrated harp player.
@@songsfromtheattic1977 He's pretty diabolical by comparison to most serious blues harp players, but still fun to listen to.
@Nelson Hibbert I play harp (to a very good level), and he is technically good. He has his own tone, which itself is very unusual.
Everytime I listen to something like that...
...I become a Stones fan all over again...!!!
God, it's so bluesy... great one
I give a massive THANK YOU to mr. Brian Jones for teaching mick how to play the harmonica. Brian is a legend when is comes to any instrument he could get his hands on.
Here it's about Mick Jagger. Create a website devote to B.Jones.
He didn’t really do much… Mick is rudimentary on harp at best.
Wunderbar, diese Harmonika...🎶🎼🎵💯
Much love to mick,him rocks!!
The Mick jagger Blues
Damn, I'm 52 years old, listen to alotta music over the years including The Stones but I never knew Jagger was so good on the harp himself..
Listen to Jammin' With Edward. There's a couple of tracks where Mick plays some beautiful long solos. Personally I never understood why Sugar Blue was brought in on Some Girls to play harp when has always shown how good he is with it.
This is fucking awesome, and Mick is fucking HOT!!!!
perfect harmonica
Rip Brian, imo, one of the greatest musicians ever.
Blues heart blues shoes blue dream and blue shadow
He played harmonica on Living Colour's album Vivid which included the bands best known song Cult Of Personality.
Agreed. Tasteful stuff
I really enjoy how relaxed he plays. Of course there are highly skilled players but this is funky. Imho, Mick knocks it out on the pocket sax
It was actually Brian who taught him how to play
I never knew Mick was such a great harmonica player !!!
He's a better singer than a harp player, but his harp playing is definitely convincing.
@@landztranz you're a better singer than you are a harp player
Суператассно !!!
So cool
@tataso Yeah, its the extra of "Shina a Light". A very good DVD, I love!
@tataso "Shine a Light".
👉🏼🌙👍🏼
I was at this show, second balcony.
Cool.
A Major - Its a 12 bar blues as well. You can play a harmonica in the key of D and it will sound good. But A as well

Mick jager best harpplayer
What's about Bob Dylan ?
Jagger is one the best with harp - Don Was said !
never loved mick, but the guy can play the harp.
fantastic, where can i find the entire video?!

Can I get the full video?
what year? what dvd?
Please the name og the song!
Urrtuhhhhhhh AFROIDISUACAL !;;! 😅😅😅😅😅😅
What song are they rehearsing?
not the most acomplished musician is Mick but he tries his best.
Unlike yourself, who can sing like Mick and pull the women like Mick - and you even play better harmonica? You're the man!
Sounds first year on the harp
What is the harmonica brand and model he plays?
Probably a Hohner Marine Band which was the harp every blues player played. He's noted for his stage presence but is really underestimated as a harp player. I don't know if Brian Jones taught him but he's an incredible harp player. Thanks Mick.
he's pretty good but Brain Jones was VERY good

Move over and let a real electric blues harp player help you out for that authentic, genuine blues groove, man.

Mick should be better on the harp after all this time!
sorry...harmonica wizard not.
AND WHO'S GOT THE BEST LIVE BAND AWARD YOU BIEBER GAY FANS...
Sounds like an amateur, busker at the best … listen to little walter, junior wells, james cotton, charlie musselwhite if you want some great harp
I think it sounds pretty good but thank you for the names, gonna check them out, I wanna learn playing blues harp 👍🏻
