I love this young, quiet and thoughtful Keith. Nowadays he comes across more as consciously "playing" the public image of himself; here, in a time before he was an icon, he is genuine and insightful.
+Brendonmakesmesmile So true. He was more down to earth here. Sometimes he mythologizes himself too much. It's better when he acts like this which is totally honest, humble, and down to earth. The documentary about him on Netflix was good.
Keith was NEVER EVER a bad guy at all. His image was made up and he just played along and it snowballed for him. He didn't like the 'establishment' quite justifiably, because they always were just corrupt hyporcrites doing the same things he enjoyed, only Keith never hurt anyone else. He just wanted to do what he wanted to do to enjoy HIS life, and be left alone to do it. He always was a decent, soft spoken gentleman.
And I dont like "idols" at my 42 but I do LovE Keith..first cause I met stones music many years ago and they been part of I´M musician...well the res is history..always with the stones..Keith to me is someone/thing( guitar, other instrument, his voice, lyrivcs by himself or with mic......Well mate all the best. ;),. From Madrid, Spain, Alcalá de Henares, tierras de CerBantes......
What you say is true indeed but it was their manager Andrew and with the stones agreement that Andrew would promote the "bad guy" image in the media constantly to "rival" the Beatles so called good guy images.
I agree with you. I have had a crush on Keith Richards for about a year now and started to realize on how gorgeous he was. I love everything about him: his stylish good looks and his charm.
@@natalienordine6906 sorry for the late reply, and thanks so much for replying, I'm glad you feel the same way as I do ❤ Keith Richards was so lovely in the 60s, beautiful big dark eyes, lovely warm smile, soft black hair, he just had everything to me ❤ beautiful and handsome
Anyone who's seen even just Keef's bookshelfs will know his public persona is manufactured. An intelligent guy. I dont think he's done half the things written about him, including drugs. He's shoved a few into his system for sure, and boy can this man drink, but he's not the depraved character sniffing ashes and burying mars bars into girls that both the press and to some extent, Keef himself has made him out to be. Image sells records and he's had to play up to it. He's a national treasure and has been consistently anti authority - that alone makes him good people in my book. A deeper man than some give credit for - like I said, look at his bookshelves and tell me this man is a wasted druggie.
Steve Bell I often wonder if the anti church and ancient mythology imagery was played up by the record companies. I am not from this generation at all but wasn't it a big thing for them to appear on Sullivan or Carson when evangelists dominated televison?
i have no idea what he was saying most of the time (cause of the voice cover) but really, it doesnt matter. i dont mind just looking at him, i could do it for hours :)
Keith's speaking voice is pleasant to listen to, although he mumbles a lot. One because he's just drugged up but also sometimes shy, quiet or introverted people are just more soft-spoken and even though to them it sounds like they're speaking loud, to others it can seem like they're mumbling. Keith's awesome though. One of the coolest guys ever yet totally sweet and if you read his book & how he talks about women it's rather cute... Unlike Mick's use em & abuse em tendancies. I love Mick though.
@LolaLavonda Only to obsessive Beatles fans. The Stones (well, and the Beatles) are as original as it gets when it comes to song writing. Sure the Stones did a couple Beatles covers but I don't think anything was a rip off of them. Thanks for the info. though :)
@LolaLavonda Thanks. Yeah the song sounded really catchy so I've been listening to it a lot the past couple days. I thought I knew all their albums but I've never heard of Satanic Magesties... That is an album, right?
Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm just saying,it's a vast difference from how he speaks now and even mannerisms, but 1968 was hardly drug free, heroin aside, he was still abusing drugs a great deal. This sounds like a Keith Richards who is sober and clean in youth, not in old age.
that footage of mick.....priceless.. It looks like he got popped in the cheek a day or two ago. anybody know? what was up? was he there to get keith out of the barn?
You could tell mick was doing lsd at this period and he obviously freaked out! Look at his hair! Apparently Keith told him it looked cool and mick believed him ha
Keith's voice is so soothing. I could listen to him talk about anything all day.
+Adrenaline Monster You mean, used to be soothing. Now it is as soothing as sand paper
+Danny Carvajal that's true, man. But, I still wouldn't mind hearing him talk all day, he seems very interesting
he has lots of experiences with drugs and music
Me too,I think it’s like you would take Buhdda and mix him with a pirate and that’s where you gotta start...
Its all that smack he's on!. You all would sound good if you had half of what Keith's on ..
God!.. they all dressed so cool back then 👌 66-69..the best years for rock fashion!..
When they dress like it now they look stupid though
They dressed like a bunch of losers

He’s older
fully agree
He and Mick both spoke Queen's English in those days. What we see today are carefully crafted personas.
He is Keeeef, I love him

cheers brother! well said.
BrilliantPorth I'm not the age of Keith Richards and I'm still learning about his early life from videos. He seems such a beautiful soul to me...
BrilliantPorth if that is what he went through I can empathize,I deal with the same...glad someone understands

Man, I love Keith. What a gift he is.
Keith's voice is so soft, calm and lovely 😍
You can say what you like about Keith....however no matter what, Keith is definitely a person who can say he has lived
There is something rather attractive about Keith Richards

You're very welcome. Handsome Keith Richards forever. 💕💕💕
I think Keith is beautiful!
i love this era with all my heart
Swinging London, the precise time and place to be 17 years old.
his voice has changed quite a bit from documented 1965 interviews
He's in heroin here.
He is the most interesting of the band and the cutest oh to be young...
Love watching these old clips.
This is a good piece. thanks for posting!! Keith is pretty much right on. I haven't seen this one before so thanks again for the post....
I must admit my first love of the Stones was Mick, but WOW. LOVE Keith :)
Keith was incredibly gorgeous
No. He was never in Brian's shadow. He admired Brian, but didn't feel inadequate around him. It was Mick and Keith who wrote the songs.
I'm not gonna lie.. Mick looks really good in that wig.
Mick Jagger looks like he was photo shooting for the some girls album cover lol 😂
HERE, IN BRAZIL, JAGGER IS A KING!!!
Before chain smoking shredded his vocal chords.
it's really strange hearing Keith like iths...hye's not slurring his words and hes doesnt seem to be on ANYTHING
Rolling Stones forever!..timeless - Keith is the man..
Keiths rings are beautiful here .they look French or Italian 🎆🎆🎆
Keith always has had a great fashion sense, he may have been influenced by Anita in his jewelry as well as clothing
🌺They beautifully complimented eachother 💘
Luv the Stones &
all their tres chic Charms🎸
must've been time 'round when he wrote 'gimme shelter'
Mick and Anita filming 'Performance'
Daamn he's just the personification of the word "rock star"
This is around Sept. '68, when Mick is shooting Performance and Keith just starting heroin. His features only beginning to coarsen...
He looked rough even in 67' before the heroin. I wonder what drugs he took before the heroin.

Steve Bell I wondered if Ozzy snorted ants until he said he did lol.
Steve Bell I often wonder if the anti church and ancient mythology imagery was played up by the record companies. I am not from this generation at all but wasn't it a big thing for them to appear on Sullivan or Carson when evangelists dominated televison?
Steve Bell Keef is a compulsive liar. Saying he snorted his father's ashes is just one of his many lies.
Micks hair in this clip is lol hilarious!! I literally laughed out loud!!! Ha ha! He looks like some old drunken woman!!
He was playing with a wig in Performance movie.
He was dressed like a drunken women ha ha can’t believe you thought he was just normal lol
Gorgeous!!!
Once it's on RUclips, it is no longer rare.
Mick looks live coronations st pub landlord lol
Interessante Auszüge......Danke...🔝👌...
keith's hair does look cool, but Mick's @ 2:42 was just silly lol
It's a wig he's wearing, used in the film Performance.
oh ok thanks. def did not know that.
No probs, I agree - it did look very odd, and well worthy of comment!
Brian Warner I like it
Matt Padden That's his real hair you fool.
These days he can't stand still while talking. He's much more animated and his voice is shot from 50 years of smoking.
he never exhales after taking a drag off a cigerette.
24 years old.
Has to be '67. Everything is so frilly and over the top.
i have no idea what he was saying most of the time (cause of the voice cover) but really, it doesnt matter. i dont mind just looking at him, i could do it for hours :)
You can find it whitout French traduction on youtube.
@ZeppelinClassics It's a wig for the film "Performance." It's actually the last scene.
lol proof that the guy at the end of performance is for sure Mick

If Keith listen that actually he can see how naive he still was.
Murdoc jesus
Hello for the other fan of Gorillaz I suppose? :))
True! Murdoc is inspired by Keith richards. But I'm still amazed how much they are actually alike

Yes it is, an excellent one too👌

I wish he laid off the drugs... he both looks and sounds better without them
Keith is so charming and classy...Jagger is too self confident, snob
Keith goes eating to the Fouquet's when he was in Paris, ride in some particular private jet, you can see him on a yatch, snoby too.
swinging london rule that time ! hair, clothes, etc, etc, etc
He's a superhuman, just like Ozzy.
was this a part of a larger film? If so, does anyone know what
Keith is the fuckin man!!!
Keith looks like Liam Gallagher when he was young
mr cool!!!!
omg. Mick's hair.
No just a wig.
Just one actually, "Wanna Be Your Man".

@MrsAllieFortune Maaaan, he's always precious.
The sixties. When smoking was still good for you.
Okay I have absolutely no idea what's going on. All I know is that Mick Jagger looked damn sexy when he got out of that car.
@paulperkins2 Lol I am a very obsessive Stones fan. And Beatles too but not quite as much.
@Yellow4494 haha only an obsessive stones fan would say that ;) I don't disagree though
Wow, Mick's a mess there!
Not everyone with a bruised face gets a ride in a Rolls.
That was when Mick was filming the movie "Performance."
@@puplover7991 You lost your time with explanation they never heard about this movie, sorry.
That's because this is before heroin fried his brain. He started heroin in 1969 after Jones died.

was Mick wearing a wig in this clip? He must have been that hair was like overly wow!
It's so bad that most of Stones fans ignore the movie Performance where Jagger was playing.
@MidnightBeastette yh, kinda :)
@MyJaar she´s a rainbow
whats the name of the jacket Keith's wearing ?.......it some sort of military jacket!
Double breasted mac or short length bridge coat. Given the short arm length it could be a woman's item.
2:41, don't even need to say anything.
Just at the beginning of Keith's heroin habit...check out the 1973 interview to the right to see how it changed.
