You all keep calling it a “practice amp”. Don’t you realize this amp has a “custom” 6” speaker? Making it one of the absolute greatest “recording” amps. You can go from clean to dirty with your guitars volume knob. Set your les paul so you can flip the toggle switch and go from clean to dirty. This is the greatest recording amp for 100 bucks in the known universe.
No, you cannot 'clean up' with your guitar's volume knob, which is a tube amp trick for anyone who doesn't know it. It provides what you would expect from a Solid State amp, loud cleans and distortion at low volumes. That said, I like the throaty sound of the Orange's distortion.
@@DerpRulesAll if you turn your amp to 10 and your volume knob to one what happens? It’s clean. Turn up the volume on your guitar and now it’s dirty. The best guitar to do this with is a Paul Junior or an SG Junior. The P90 tend to do this the best. So I don’t know what you’re talking about. You absolutely can use it. The volume knob can become your pedal.
@@projectmoon13 Not with _this_ kind of amp, which is my point, unless you happen to have the Gain at a low level. But then you're not 'cleaning up' by lowering the guitar volume because you were never 'dirty' in the first place. Go ahead and get a saturated sound, with high gain, and try to clean up by just turning down the guitar's volume _on this type of amp,_ and see what happens. What type of pickups you use is irrelevant.
@@DerpRulesAll oh… well… I use 5 watt tube amps. I especially use a 5watt supro bantam. A barn find that I had updated. Actually all my amps are really great tube amps. Solid state hi gain I have a 50 watt hi watt. I guess it wouldn’t work with that. So you’re right. The amp does matter. Thanks
How refreshing to hear an amp review that offers some clean tones instead of a few minutes of self indulgent overdriven licks at ear splitting volume.Thanks.
lately guitar has really clicked for me after a year of playing. bc people like you make great content. I'm planning on learning jazzy stuff and maybe metal eventually.
hey was thinking bout buying this one as my first amp cos it has everything i need like 3 band eq and i dont require any reverb or any effects. I was wondering if i can play some metallica, megadeth, pantera , iron maiden and stuff like led zeppelin etc, will i be able to get some good tones cos i wont be using pedals? thanks
@@deboosterz8190 I'd only go with the pathfinder if you are on a strict budget. The Crush 12 has a few more features like a full 3 band eq that will make using pedals a bit easier.
Sound wise I think the Orange Crush 12 has better distortion then the MG 15, but functionally as a practice amp I think the MG 15 is better simply because it comes with a channel switch.
@@hatemh2455 Thanks for the suggestion. The best I can do is learn a few riffs from the song. I usually only do covers of songs I'm super into since learning the full songs can be quite time consuming. Have a nice day man!😀
Lettting it rip with the Orange crush 12 today. What do you think of this bad boy? Let me know in the comments!

Glad you enjoyed it! I try to give a good balance between the tones.

Perfect review my dude!!! Just bought mine today. Rock on!
Awesome man, congrats on your new amp! Orange amps have been killing it these last couple years!
Cool strat ... very unique control layout. I like it.
Thanks man, I’m getting one of these Friday and wondered about the distortion,
I'd like to mention that I've just bought this to the bedroom and I am more than happy
Awesome little amp
Glad you like it. I know you're a big Orange fan.
sounds great in my small studio and it sounds amazing miked up closely
Smooth playing too. 🔥🫡
Just got one today , it’s Orange in color ❤
Nice! They are beautiful amps. Congrats on your new amp!
Thanks for the content

My pleasure! Thank you.
Awesome man! Good to hear, there's a whole lot of great guitar stuff on youtube. I learn a lot from other guitarist here.
What's a good blues setting on this amp?
That Stratocaster guitar reminds me of Jim Root's style
Hey dustin been watching you for a while , i had a question will my ibanez GRG170DX sound good with this amp and can I play metal with it?
Definitely! Ibanez and Orange work very well together. Thanks for watching!
Is this loud enough to jam with an acoustic or electric drums? Thanks in advance.

Thanks! Any particular pedals that pair well with this guy now that you've had it for a bit? looking to goose it at ultra low volume levels
How well does it take pedals?
It takes pedals very well.
@@DustinAlford sir i have a question orange crush 12 or vox pathfinder 10 for rock and i will using distortion pedal thanks

@@DustinAlford thank you sir,i ordered the vox pathfinder 10 beceuse its more cheaper and in my country orange crush 12 or 20 have limited stock
@@deboosterz8190 I think you'll still like the Vox. Both amps are solid! Have fun rockin out man!
You prefer this or the Marshall MG 15????

Is the tone of this similar to the crush 20? Or is it worth spending the extra to get the 20?
It's pretty similar. You'd probably get a better sound though the 20 though because it has a bigger speaker.
Pedals used ?
why is it a couple dollars more?
Is this better than a Blackstar FLY3 with the extension speakers of it?
I think the quality of the Orange Crush 12 is better then the Fly but it's not as mobile.
Is this better than a vox pathfinder 10 for a practice amp?
Honestly they are both very similar. You can't go wrong with either one.
@@DustinAlford Awesome bro +1 subscriber 🙂
Can i get this tone with cheap pickups?
My guitar : yamaha erg121c
Not really cheap pickups i mean its a beginner guitar
Yeah, you can get pretty close with that guitar.
