making a big change to my Max. changing to a Co Print Chroma_pad (runs Klipper) and Multicolor head. Your pin out video was very helpful. I also found a motherboard problem I have to address. still your videos are proving to be helpful
These are some amazing upgrades for an already good workhorse. One question I have with the direct drive and hotend upgrades - can you use CF Nylon with this setup reliably? (with hardened nozzle of course). Tthe direct drive setup still using a portion of the Bowden tube to the hotend gives me a little concern because it would be approaching the PTFE softening point.
hey man can you make complete tutorial of wiring and changing from stock Kobra max mainboard to SKR, i am having a lot of problems, and since i am not electrician i need to understand a bit better ! nice channel !
This is great! It's exactly what I want to do as a future project, except I'm 50/50 on splurging to get a Beacon3D, Cartographer, or the BTT Eddy instead of BLTouch
Was looking at the new cobra 2, but I’m hearing lots of complaints about the closed off firmware that not being able to print directly from a USB or web interface that isn’t proprietary as well as a hot end in bed that don’t quite get hot enough for certain materials. I’ve seen the original original cobra Max selling for $220 as a refurbished unit, would that be the better way to go and buying the add-ons or modifications to make it just what I want? I’m more interested in bed size than I am speed. What are your thoughts?
I just received my modified plate from pcb way. The linear rail install video will be out after I replace my Sovol 04 IDEX hotends with Creality sprite ones. That’s the next video. As far as the wire, I wish I would’ve found out about that before I made my mess lol. But it still works great! Thanks bro
Ya I’ve been so disappointed with this printer. Been the biggest waste of my money in years. I’ll have to look at your videos on this a bit more carefully to determine if I want to spend more on this train wreck of a printer. Thank you for your content. Keep it up boss!
I thought the same with my printer after investing some money and time for the modifications now it prints almost flawless, still have some improvements to make but it worth it if you know what you are doing
@jthespiceoflife i have an artillery sidewinder x2 and i did change the mother board for an octopus 1.1 and install klipper on a btt pi 1.2 im right know printing the parts for a xol toolhead with a sherpa mini also bought some linear rails to convert to corexz if you need help doing all this mods i could help you but is gonna be a long journey notbing it can be done in less than a week
Not being funny i build and upgrtade 3d printers and that is so messy, I would have cleaned all wiring up an made a better jobof the hotend and extruders, its just looks so untidy and messy sorry not for me to untidy and thats y i ghave u a thumbs down
I appreciate the feedback. You’re absolutely right, it is a mess lol. I’m still doing some wrap up work. Some of the connections need to be changed to jst-xh. Once I’m done doing that, I’ll put some hose tape on along with some tubing to tidy it up
@@JeDoVi3D It's all about the print quality and not what the printer looks like. Who give a toss if it looks like a smashed crab as long as it works well and is functional. Thanks for the video mate.
Great Video! Will this work on a Kobra Plus?
I keep seeing videos on the Max and it’s exciting, but I opted for the Kobra 2 Max.
I’m going to attempt doing this! Doesn’t seem that daunting of a task. Especially the mainboard. Thank you for the video!
Good luck my friend. Thank you for watching

Thank you so much for making awesome content on the cobra max!
Thank you for watching. Definitely appreciate it

Can you please help me set up the motherboard kippler combo ??

Yea, those are awesome. I’m going to try the beacon on my ng build
Can you make a list or a video of the parts you printed for the hero me on the kobra max?
Sorry about the delayed response. I will update that and let you know when it’s complete
@@JeDoVi3DI was also curious about this I wanted to make sure I had everything printed before I take the machine apart
Awesome video! We’re looking to do the same here, could you share your printer.cfg file?

toss some linear rails on the xyz, and I believe there's a part from big tree tech where you use just one wire for everything

Great video but realistically all those parts you just pretty much bought yourself one of the new printers if not a Kobra Max 2
