Dji Neo - Ultimate Range Test

- Watch me as we put the dji neo to the ultimate range test - risking loss of drone, knackering batteries and truly putting the size of our balls to the test. The result really surprised us!.
"I won't be flying this, it will be my good friend next to me who will stay
anonymous" lol...
@@ricmeister2011 all about plausible deniability 🙂😜
Every time I see these tests, I think, "this drone is too small to be out on it's own in the big wide world."
Amazing tests.
With 50% at 1,7 km I would be already sweating. This guy with 38% of battery: oh well, maybe it is time to return 🤣
2 km good video transmission in such size and weight is INSANE. It blows any low budget Chinese drone out of the water, besides the Mini 4K.
You are clearly not flying that drone....😉
@@BhupenderSingh-mm2rk absolutely not 🙃
Great video was just keeping my neo close going to push mine further today, weather permitting
Yep my friend with no name was pleasantly surprised with the range lol
Thank you ❤
Great range test. I'm subbing. Greetings from Montreal, Canada.
@@Blueskyver great to have your sub - thank you!
GREAT TEST I WILL TRY❤❤❤
For me 2000m easy and always have 4 bar of connexion, with a bigger battery this shit can be really awesome, my fav drone of dji for the portability and use honestly !
OMG you have balls of steel Did the battery survive
@@NubMaster1 yes (surprisingly!). I wouldn’t expect it to perform well after too many of these stunts though 😂
I love these range test...... Mine ships on the 7th. A hover test would be nice
@@eagleeyeviewimages thanks - what would you like to know from a hover test - flight time?
@@dronewilder5234 yes
@@RobertBotnick12mins in a light breeze
Nice flight! Like registered
perfect !!!
Good test, I guess the battery is always going to be the limiting factor with the Neo. It would be nice to know the signal penetration differences too with and without the hack file 🤔
What was the cause of the 2 yaw/roll washout type things at the end of your return flight? 🤔
@@nickpmtb5629 yes the penetration should definitely be better with the FCC hack. I can test this soon. Regarding the yaw/roll washouts I suspect this was a power/voltage drop due to the battery getting close to depletion This has happened a few times now. It’s far beyond what the Neo was designed for so not a surprise I guess
CE and FCC are a bit pointless on this drone, but not so good on a say Air 3.
2 km is the best distance I have seen so far on the Neo, very impressive! I have yet to even go 20 metres with my Nero with the controller, and I am lucky enough to live in an FCC country! I even have care refresh on the drone, but I am still too chicken!
@@gregb1599 absolutely although it’s worth mentioning that FCC mode will also give better penetration when flying say around buildings. Maximum range I got with the remote 3 FPV was almost 2.1km (latter part of this video) that was more limited by battery life again
Looking at the FPV footage, did you have to fight the wind so much or what was the reason for the massive incline? It did look like the wind because, on the way back, it seemed to be pretty much mirrored. 🙂
@@FxOllie yes that was completely to fight the wind and maintain heading - was quite a windy day tbh
Great test with the DJI Neo - many thanks for sharing the info
@@shaunthedrone thanks - keep a watch out for my next one which will be a special one 🙂
im hoping you took off and went out into wind making it easier for you to return?
@@vince-n yes I’d always fly into the wind for a long distance flight 🙃
класс! бедный neo сколько он пережил)))
Haha thank you - just wait what I will be putting it through next 😈
@@dronewilder5234 вауу, интригуешь 👍
Thank you, very impressive for a light, very small drone. I think the UK law is an ass for what really is a harmless toy.
@@quentinbush agreed. I like to think a common sense approach is more important.
Try just going further until battery gets near 0% and land while your friend follows it and picks it up from the field.
Thanks great video, thinking to buy this.. What do you think?
@@eyemavic786 it’s a great fun little drone and in the right conditions can produce really decent videos - I’ll be flying mine a lot. It will eventually however have you wanting a bigger drone (unless you already have one)
@@dronewilder5234 thanks for the advice, I have a Mavic pro but the drone law is strict here in UK do the Neo makes sense, the price is great and also can do fpv... I will get the combo with controller
Without recording it would be slightly more I guess.
Try the same test without video recording or broadcasting. Just the RC and some help of another drone.
@@edwardciaia3448 you mean to reduce the power consumed by the video recording itself? Probably will make a fair difference due to its small size so fair point
Great test detailed and clear 👍
@@khalilkh7389 thanks glad you enjoyed it!
also doing it in normal mode instead of sport mode will extend the flight time
@@CRIMSONTYPHOON_YT yes true, fastest speed isn’t the most efficient although it was quite windy so that will also effect the optimum speed for distance
Video quality is terrible has this been rendered down by yt?
@@Tractor-boy1 not sure but lighting conditions where very horrible - bleachy bright sky etc. possible that RUclips rendered it down a bit. Also worth bearing in mind that roll axis stabilised footage (RC-N3) has very hefty amounts of digital crop applied
1.8kms times 2 cause you the litle demon had to return 😁
@@nunoaraujo3688 yup so nearly a 4k journey
I’m sure you could have done better than your friend
@@gliderrider absolutely - he’s a bit of an amateur 😜
