@@lifeetc764 I bought iPad 2018 32gb and an apple pencil gen 1. Almost everything is good for reading pdf files and taking note. Don't worry and go to buy it. I'm sure that it won't make you disappointed.
I went to an official Apple reseller today to look at the new iPad air and mini, they didn't have them. I checked out the iPad 2018 and found the writing pretty great. I think this less expensive version is good for me as a student. The iPad pro's are beautiful but they have features I don't even need. I need an iPad for reading books and taking handwritten notes, other than that I already have everything I need. Thanks for helping me make up my mind!
The best review I have ever seen for iPad because as you said so many channels are reviewing it from technical prospective. For me your review was so useful
hi there, I'm buying the iPad 2018 for university, and I also am thinking of buying the goodnote app or the notability app. which one would you reccomend me to buy, based on your experience with goodnote, bearing in mind that I study chemistry at university, which involves a lot of diagrams pictures, and also drawing molecular diagrams. I am also interested in if there is a shape tool on goodnote as this would be very useful for me so please could you let me know how drawing shapes is like on the goodnotes app.
I was very close to buying Notability, however as someone who is a lot more creative, GoodNotes is the better option for me. You can make your own notebook covers and there are a lot more highlighter and colour options. This could be incorrect because I haven't looked in a while however, there are limited colours and pens you can use in Notability, whereas GoodNotes has a lot of freedom with this. I also really like the fact that there are more paper types on GoodNotes and I can automatically back-up notes to google drive without even having to think about it. Where Notability really wins is its audio recording feature and that is often a big thing for some people. Drawing shapes is a really nice experience and I haven't experienced any issues. You can simply draw them freehand or use the shape tool to make them straighter and actual shapes. It's super easy to use. You also have the option to customise the eraser by making it erase entire strokes or how a normal eraser would work. Overall, there is a lot of freedom and flexibility in what you can do on GoodNotes. I have video coming out soon which explains more on how I take notes on Notability, so look out for that :D
if you want more creativity, more paper sizes, more paper styles, choose GoodNotes. Plus, the highlighter function in notability covers your handwriting! GoodNotes doesn't.
I’m a musical Theatre major and the iPad replaces a computer completely. However I did invest in the iPad Pro with the main accessories (keyboard case and pencil). I can see how certain tasks would require a full laptop, but just from my experience it replaces a computer.
After using it for a while I would say that a slightly bigger size would be better, however it is still a decent size in order to take notes effectively.
I think that depends what size notebooks/ paper you are used to. For a long time I used B5 notebooks which are 6.9 × 9.8 inches... when i switched back to regular A4 notebooks (8.5 × 11 inches) i felt like i had too much space!
Great review! I think I will save my money and get this one instead of the air. I have a mini 2 and I tried taking notes with a plain old stylus and it wasn’t working lol. Time to upgrade
Going to be a 3rd year psych student transferring this coming Spring and wondering if I should invest in a iPad Pro? I already have a MacBook Pro but I’ll be commuting 1 hour to college everyday and lugging it around with me seems like a hassle (not to mention not wanting to lose/break a $2000 machine) Would an iPad Pro be a better fit for taking to classes for notes and other things and then keep the MacBook at home for papers and other things?
If you have the money. Get the pro. If not get this version. I have it im a PhD student and it works great for me, the iPad Air 3 is a little better and I think $150 more.
Thank you! It does take a little longer to charge than expected, however thats due to the fact that the battery can last quite a while. Probably around 6-10 hours of usage depending on what you're doing. Actually charging it can take around 1:30-2 hours I find.
Isn't it weird to write on plastic in comparison to paper in the beginning? I'm thinking about purchasing one and I tried one at the store, but the reaction isn't as fast as I thought
You have to practice to improve your hand writing, find the correct combination of pen size, template, zoom, app, etc. Then, it will became even better than in paper.
If your going to take notes or draw I highly recommend to buy the Apple Pencil, if you just want to write occasionally buy any other capacitive pencil.
Thank you. I've enjoyed your two videos on iPads and taking notes. I'm considering getting the iPad Air 2019. and was worrying whether there would be a noticeable pencil lag (when compared with the 2019 Pro), but your video suggests that there is nothing to worry about?
There’s a little bit of lag compared to the iPad Pro but you won’t notice it unless you have an iPad Pro. But it’s not like you will have to wait for the line once you draw with the Apple Pencil, it’s almost invisible.
I’ve used the Apple Pencil in the silent section of the library quite a bit. It does make a bit of a noise, but it’s not anything distracting. Probably less noise than someone typing on a computer.
Hi there, I'm a medical student. I'm buying an iPad 2018 next month. Your video is very useful for me! I really like it! Thank you so much!
Hồng Đại Lê you can chốe the new ipad air. Its better
@@LinhNguyen-fo1jdThe price of iPad Air 3 is a lot higher than iPad 2018 so I decided to buy the iPad 2018. I got it 2 weeks ago.

Your review is so complete, thank you so much!! I am definitely buying the IPad 2018 for college.
The iPad 2018 is PERFECT for College
Good notes announced that they’re working on adding audio recordings and also having multiple windows in the same app after the release of iOS 13
I bought this iPad for college back in November 2019, it is amazing! for $329, it can do so much.
Does it effect eyes ? if someone is using it continuously for 10 to 12 hours ...??

How is it using ur iPad in class like when u write on ur iPad is it loud. The glass tapping the screen is that loud.
In terms of size do you feel like the 9.7" is big enough for notetaking?
After using it for a while I would say that a slightly bigger size would be better, however it is still a decent size in order to take notes effectively.
Ashley Macleod yes maybe 11” would be perfect

How much storage do you have left?
hii~ i was wondering what case you had on your ipad
You are gorgeous and your videos are great!! Keep doing a great Job!
Hi! What iPad case and pencil sleeve do you use? I want to buy one and yours looks really good!
wow this video was great! i like how you were genuine in this

What size of storage capacity do you recommend? Is 64 gb enough to last through a several year degree?
Brian ipad 2018 only has 32gb and 128gb. I prefer the second
Isn't it weird to write on plastic in comparison to paper in the beginning?
I'm thinking about purchasing one and I tried one at the store, but the reaction isn't as fast as I thought
Its definitely weird! My writing looks awful on just the glass! A matte screen protector and gtrip help make it better

Ohh you are great ..
Your video is very much beautiful ....!!!
I baught iPad definitely ...
Thank you for giving information ...!!!
Already have the ipad and considering to buy the pencil. But still wondering, is it worth?
You can buy the Logitech pencil is less expensive
@@marie-laure8582 how is the quality?

The reflection of the light on your glasses....
hi, i wonder which one do you use? the 32 or 128gb?
I use the 32gb
Get the 128gb its a better value, if you have the 128gb you don’t got to worry about keep on having to delete things like the 32gb
128gb is the best

Is Apple pencil able to extract text from picture and screen shot?
Hi, are 32 GO worth? I just need to take notes and watching netflix and surfing on web
Yes 32gb is enough as long as you won’t be downloading multiple movies and games at the same time
thanks for this video!!
Thank you! Very useful video :)
It is really a informative and well organized vedio Ashley.... keep it up
whoa u are as old as I am :T heehh my bday is on the 18th of December though
Thanks for the video. I'm considering and iPad.

Does apple pencil make annoying tapping sounds?
I love studying in libraries and don’t want annoy others.

oh thank you so much. More vidoes i watch and more questions i ask more qonvinced i am that i should by an Apple Pencil.
Where did you purchase your case for the iPad?
It's the Ztotop case from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07C2RXB8H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
