It's frustrating as someone with a 14 Pro because my phone is more than capable of having Clean Up, but it's Apple Intelligence so I won't be getting it
This is the only reason I came to the comments. It’s so annoying. I’ve had my 14 pro max for barely two years and am still paying for the damned thing every month on my bill. It’s RIDICULOUS that these features aren’t available for iPhone 14 - especially clean up. Then again, this kind of BS happens all the time with Apple and I always say, “I’m not getting another iPhone,” for this very reason but always end up just upgrading because I’ve spent so much money in apps I can still access over the years. The only thing that makes that problematic this go around is that pretty much all those apps, many of which I paid for outright years ago, now require weekly or monthly subscriptions. Like, no. Screw you. I used to be able to pay for something once, whether it was $.99 or $20+ (I have a couple old school photo apps that were a bit pricey back in the day), but that wasn’t so bad when it was a one time thing. Now most of those apps charge upward of $20 A MONTH for full featured access. It’s ridiculous. There is ZERO reason technology should continue to be this expensive (except greed, of course). I’m 46 years old, though. I remember when 512MB of memory cost $100. 🤷♀️😂😂
Great video as usual. Everyone saying how Apple intelligence isn’t anything special and other companies have done this that or the other before, don’t you realize that’s one of Apple’s basic plans. Take what every other company does that’s popular, streamline and optimize it, put it all in one ecosystem and sell it. That’s what many Apple fans love.
I rely on siri when I drive instead of having to go on my phone, but damn it frustrates me when it does not understand what I am trying to say no matter how simple the request is. This will be a game changer for sure

I use the Gmail app. Apple mail doesn't have immediate notifications for Gmail messages and still feels clunky to use. Gmail's native app just feels faster to me and has a better UI. I'm sure Google will add the AI features eventually to the Gmail app as they have done on Android.
At 3:05, when I highlight text as you did, the section immediately above my keyboard remains blank instead of displaying “proofread,” “rewrite,” and the Apple intelligence logo. Despite having Apple Intelligence enabled, it’s confusing why it’s not showing up. Perhaps this is a glitch. To clarify, this issue doesn’t affect my ability to use writing tools. The pop-up appears over the highlighted text, providing the option to do so.

I updated & requested it yesterday at like 3/4pm & this morning at 6am when I looked at my phone, I had a notification to start using the intelligence. not too bad, but wasn't within the day. it's cool so far, but I'm at work so I haven't used it much yet 😅
I am on a iphone 16 pro and the option to join apple intelligence does not show. My phone is updated, I checked my regions, and the option does not show in the Apple Intelligence section.
Honestly, I laughed it off at first.. but for the past 2 months I've been using Apple Intelligence instead of Grammarly and I won't go back. It's almost just as good & it replaces the errors for you in-line, unlike Grammarly

I’m confused; I thought this feature was only on iPhone 15 and up, but I’m seeing it on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’m tempted to update, but if I do, my phone might experience major issues and possibly severe battery damage. Why would Apple send this update to my phone if it’s not meant for it?
I would say 2 things: The editing capabilities to help you say things better and also to help with punctuation, etc. Also, Siri being smarter is pretty awesome as well.
I have the iPad mini seven with iOS 18.1 and I cannot keep the keyboard large. It wants to show up small on most apps and when I try to text or message. Any ideas. I have tried to use my two fingers to make it large and it won’t do it Occasionally it will go back to normal but most of the time it’s small.

Damn... They got me again. I'd finally come to the decision of switching over to the S25 series this past week, but since finding out about just how amazing AI (Apple Intelligence) is, I don't think I'm able to make the move.
I'm a long time apple user and i have to concede that the S24 and upcoming S25 are superior phones. Apple only beats them with the convenience of their ecosystem when you have several Apple products. I'll probably keep my 15PM but I really want the S25 for my secondary (business) phone since I'm not able to give up the whole apple ecosystem yet.

Clean up is pretty solid! I went through a few pics from my trip to Rome and it did a fantastic job of removing the other tourists for a really clean look. There were a few where this girl in a bright red coat was front and centre that I somehow didn’t notice at the time and now she GONE!

I joined the waitlist and had access within 5 min. I suspect it’s a way to manage server capacity while they scale since some tasks are still done over the cloud.
Brandon already explained why you have to join a waiting list for Apple Intelligence, it’s because you have to download the AI models directly directly from Apple servers.
Since 18.1 my phone while in stand by mode randomly plays RUclips videos. I have to kill the app in order for it to stop. It’s starting to get irritating.

@@night8002 Wrong, the whole point of quantum computing (which is the pinnacle of what we want to achieve) is to already speed up what we have. Such as processing times and faster storage. Not to make some ugly AI art for Facebook likes. And certainly not for “all knowing” computers like AM or Hal. If you can’t read a simple email or text and need an AI model to summarize it in one sentence and read it to you, then that’s genuinely pathetic

You mentioned that writing tools works on WhatsApp, but it doesn’t! And also in Microsoft Word sometimes it works in giving me the option of writing tools when selecting and sometimes it doesn’t. And if the text is long in Word or in Pages it doesn’t work as well, while it does work fine in Notes with longer texts. And also the photo memory feature is not working, it gives me a message saying creation not available

I’ve been using iOS 18 on my 12 Pro, and it’s been perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that Apple Intelligence isn’t supported on that phone.

It doesn’t work on the Lock Screen. You need to unlock it, then it works (also, it needs to be enabled in settings).

It didn’t detect not one thing in all of my pictures. It just said cleanup is downloading.

Now it works. I probably didn’t wait until I received the message that Apple Intelligence was available after I joined the waitlist. Also, I tried to tap to Siri by engaging Siri then trying to tap the bottom of the screen. Don’t say “Siri”, just double 9:30 tap the bottom of the screen and it will appear.
Still sends me to google for pretty much any question I ask it which is pretty aggravating lol.

I joined the waitlist and had access within 5 min. I suspect it’s a way to manage server capacity while they scale since some tasks are still done over the cloud.
That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard having to wait on a waitlist. I did all of my stuff and here it is two hours later and nothing.
All 3 of my devices were on the waitlist for 5 min or less. It’s not really a big deal.

Brandon already explained why you have to join a waiting list for Apple Intelligence, it’s because you have to download the AI models directly directly from Apple servers.
Since 18.1 my phone while in stand by mode randomly plays RUclips videos. I have to kill the app in order for it to stop. It’s starting to get irritating.
this update is not amazing 😭 most friends & family wont have phones that even support it + grammarly did all this years ago i don't get the hype.

@@night8002 Wrong, the whole point of quantum computing (which is the pinnacle of what we want to achieve) is to already speed up what we have. Such as processing times and faster storage. Not to make some ugly AI art for Facebook likes. And certainly not for “all knowing” computers like AM or Hal. If you can’t read a simple email or text and need an AI model to summarize it in one sentence and read it to you, then that’s genuinely pathetic

You mentioned that writing tools works on WhatsApp, but it doesn’t! And also in Microsoft Word sometimes it works in giving me the option of writing tools when selecting and sometimes it doesn’t. And if the text is long in Word or in Pages it doesn’t work as well, while it does work fine in Notes with longer texts. And also the photo memory feature is not working, it gives me a message saying creation not available
I’ve done the update and have none of these features in text
