I bet by now they can make a mini iPhone with good battery life. Chips are more efficient and probably can cram a bit more physical battery and it’d be great.
If Apple were to give pro level internals in a 13 mini-like form factor while cheaping on the camera specs (personally don’t care for something I’ll use a handful of times throughout the time I’ll have the device), I would jump on it in a heartbeat. I mean, I could just grow larger hands too but that would require surgery. /s (and for anyone that mentions the one-handed accessibility feature, no that is not a replacement for actual usability in one hand, especially when the screen reverts to full after a set amount of time or after you tap a selection on-screen. At that point it’s more a time waster than a useful feature).
I would not pay over 1,000 dollars for that. I disagree that they would make it that price. Especially for only have 1 camera. I think it will be an SE replacement. 500 bucks max
Thin phones are just plain hard to hold. It's why I always buy cases for my phone, to make them bigger. I would love for them to take this tech and just double or even triple the battery size to make a normal size or even slightly thicker phone with insane battery life.
Idk much but I’m going to hold onto my 13 mini for another couple years. The whole ‘thinnest phone ever’ thing is such a racket. It really makes very little difference in the end user experience except for ‘ooohhh look how thin it is oooh’
If the dimensions are accurate, I'll pass on the Air as I don't want anything bigger than the regular iPhone 16. I'd actually like it be smaller or at least move the control center from a bottom right swipe instead of top right swipe.
I know more who bought the 16 plus over the regular 16 so I don’t know. There needs to be a bigger price difference between the plus and pro max to make sense. I like titanium. Don’t want aluminum or combo of titanium and aluminum. Hope that’s wrong. Use it on the 17 air but not the pros. Will be sticking with the pro max.
They won’t make the most premium model (the “Air” as you’re guessing) with just one rear camera - they would need it to be able to take spacial photos and videos to be compatible with the 🍎 VisionPro.
With the battery technology right now this is not possible. Only reason why the battery is so good with the 16 lineup is because the motherboard is two layered and therefore there is more room for the battery.
I think anyone would think the iPhone air would be the premium model with them having pros out. Just like every other product the air is under the pro so that price estimate doesn’t really seem to make sense to me.
It does not make sense for the iPhone 17 Air to be more expensive than the Pro models. The Air models have always been priced below the Pro models with the iPads and Macbooks. So, either the iPhone 17 Air will get the price of the Pro and the Pro increases in price, or the *ultra* thin iPhone 17 will be called the iPhone 17 Ultra with an ultra high price tag.
Anyone complaining about battery life, do you live in some 3rd world country that suffers from blackouts? You live near chargers ALL the time. A mid-day charge won't ruin your day.
@ I actually day drive a Pixel 7. I do have an iPhone 14Pro but I only switch to it for a few week a year to stay up to date since I have to support IOS devices at work.
I can tell you don’t work 😂 or got people calling you or heavy followers in social media which is fine but don’t criticize us that’s on our phone all day or work on it or love being on social media. It’s 2024 not 2004
Don’t believe it. Everyone (RUclipsrs) said the iPhone 12 was the next big deal, then iPhone 13, iPhone 14, 15, and finally when 15 came out it was the 16 to wait for. This dream is likely the iPhone 21. Yawn let’s talk iPad mini 😂
Can’t see it been more than the pro max , Yes nice to see a scratch free screen again, my iPhone 12 never got a scratch in 3 years and I didn’t put a screen protector on it , 15 pro scratched after about 3 weeks and i looked after it
The front facing camera changing to 24mp is not going to make it look much better, more pixel doesnt always mean better quality. Specially with such a small lense.
It should be slimmer than any iPhone ever! So far this doesn’t do anything for me because I don’t want a bigger screen and I want a real camera zoom. So looks like I’ll be buying the 16 or 17 Pro. I also want to see what the SE4 will look like, I can sacrifice a few things for the right price
It won't be that expensive, no way. It'll replace the Plus model, and will bump the price a little. I reckon: 17 = $799, 17 air = $999, 17 pro = $1099, 17 mac = $1199
So, the lineup next year is iPhone SE 4, iPhone 17/Air or Slim/Pro and Pro Max. Probably their last chance to give the vanilla iPhone a high refresh rate, or else they would be decimated by Pixel 10 series.
@ it finally started showing its age. Calls, text and apps got too laggy. I hated switching because that phone had no scratches, cracks, etc. it kept up with so much for so long. Even though I upgraded I didn’t get rid of the 6s+. It’s my personal trophy to keep 🥰
I just had a thought, one camera, thinner, smaller battery, this sounds like this could be a rebrand for the SE. Apple will make it a mid size phone with less features like they did when they announced the Xr.
Meanwhile Apple still can't unify the colouring across all their products. I'm sick of having 14 different shades of what should be the exact same colour.
This is the iPhone version that I want and is trying to wait for. I’m over 50yrs of age now, all I want is my tech to be simple again. I don’t need a huge camera bump on the back that I really don’t use like that anymore. I’m looking to possibly buy the iPhone 16plus for that reason, it’s simple, it reminds me of the 10 series.
i feel like they’re going to make it like the ipad line up, the regular ipad is the lower end device, the ipad air in the middle, and the pro is the highest end ipad you can get.
Now add a 108mp ultra wide with Auto focus so that it can offer 3x lossless zoom. 0.5 to 1x and then to 2x 🎉😂 And since it’s an autofocus camera it’ll act as a macro as well
I kind of get it but at the same time not…. It’s worse than the regular 17, its the shiny new thing but not the top model. Do if your getting the top model you will be frustrated to not get a new look… so many questions
I hope this is the SE 3 not an even more premium iPhone. I'd love them to use the iPhone X design for the SE though. I can't stand the weight of the new iPhones, it's just too much, but I'd like at least two cameras, so there's nothing for me right now, bar the iPhone X, which I'm still using, but it's also on the heavy side.
One thing I can guarantee is that if Apple makes an “ Air” model of an iPhone it will not be “ super premium “. The air model MacBook and iPads are both the cheaper models that have yet to be “ premium “.
Mark my word 10 months from now you will see that the price of the new iPhones will be as following Air: 1000$, 17 Pro 1099$, 17 Pro Max 1199$ and the cause for the price hike in the pro version that it’s gonna come with a base 256 GB storage.
11:44 An AIR series product costing more than a PRO series device. Are you trying to say that Apple is contradicting its nomenclature system for their own devices? 😆
As long as the battery life is as good as the plus Line I’d buy It . A thin light iPhone with awesome battery life is my Ideal iPhone. I probably wouldn’t buy the first gen of it as there could be issues with it
I've been looking for a phone with an ultrawide camera that is as good as the main camera for low-light, wide-angle videography, this may be the first to achieve that
Does it really make sense for apple to shrink the camara module down to only one camera in their premium model when they were all about spacial photos...?
I agree with the other comments below. 1. More expensive phone without the upgraded benefits? Not gonna sell well. 2. Thinner phone is a nice concept but what will Apple's benefits be other than this (only time will tell)? 3. Nice that it will be made from titanium/aluminum but will it stand the test of time...10 years ago they tried this with aluminum and the phones bent and cracked the glass and the phones had to be pulled. Not a well thought out concept; any manufacturing engineer would know this. 4. Apple needs to think about this one carefully. PS...Sam, like how you test your products...you really put your self into it. LOL Good sales pitch - like your setup!
Great video! I’m waiting on a big update for the iPhone 17 Pro. I’ve been waiting to upgrade from my iPhone 13 Pro and I feel that the 17 Pro will be that upgrade I want! For me the Dynamic Island is a gimmick that I don’t need and I hope we get a hole punch or a smaller Dynamic Island in 2025!
It’s the air…. My guess is it will be a mid-phone just a re-packaging of the plus to make it stand out and to get people excited about it. My guess is a 90hz screen too.
I think either the rumors are stupid, or you interpreted something wrong. There's no way an "air" product, let alone one with no glass finishes and only one camera, is going to be more expensive the the "pro" model line up with more premium features, materials and multiple lenses.

@ I agree on that, I don’t care about cameras really, and the one hand mode implementation sucks on all smartphone companies
I would not pay over 1,000 dollars for that. I disagree that they would make it that price. Especially for only have 1 camera. I think it will be an SE replacement. 500 bucks max
Man I’m gonna love that 2 hour battery like lol 😂
2:13 they already do this. It’s not new. The 15 has a titanium exterior with an aluminum interior. Same with the 16. It’s nothing new.
Sign me up - I cannot wait. If true, I’d definitely be getting the IPhone Air.
Thin phones are just plain hard to hold. It's why I always buy cases for my phone, to make them bigger. I would love for them to take this tech and just double or even triple the battery size to make a normal size or even slightly thicker phone with insane battery life.
You’re definitely wrong about the pricing… 💀 😂
Idk much but I’m going to hold onto my 13 mini for another couple years. The whole ‘thinnest phone ever’ thing is such a racket. It really makes very little difference in the end user experience except for ‘ooohhh look how thin it is oooh’
THOSE RENDERS ARE 😍😍😍 apple needs to hire you!
P.S I know Sam himself didn’t make the renders. Apple Track is a team that Sam leads.
If the dimensions are accurate, I'll pass on the Air as I don't want anything bigger than the regular iPhone 16. I'd actually like it be smaller or at least move the control center from a bottom right swipe instead of top right swipe.
Apples always talk about better screen but don’t do anythingggggg……..the little scratches. PISSSS ME OFFF LOL
get a screen protector
I know more who bought the 16 plus over the regular 16 so I don’t know. There needs to be a bigger price difference between the plus and pro max to make sense. I like titanium. Don’t want aluminum or combo of titanium and aluminum. Hope that’s wrong. Use it on the 17 air but not the pros. Will be sticking with the pro max.
They won’t make the most premium model (the “Air” as you’re guessing) with just one rear camera - they would need it to be able to take spacial photos and videos to be compatible with the 🍎 VisionPro.
Should I wait for 17 Pro Max if I have a smaller 14 Pro 2 years old with 87%? Is it worth it over getting the 16 Pro Max?
2:50 microfiber cloth left the chat
With the battery technology right now this is not possible. Only reason why the battery is so good with the 16 lineup is because the motherboard is two layered and therefore there is more room for the battery.
I doubt theyd be moving the camera from the top left corner.
Yes it’s ugly as sin , ain’t no way that happening
It’s all good to have a slimmer phone but if it sacrifices its battery size like below 4500mAh then that’s a huge NO
as someone who doesn’t give a single fuck about cameras, this definitely will be the phone for me.
😂😂😂😂😂 same
I don't want a thin phone because it bends easily. Remember iphone 6 bendable when it came out?
7:43 wtf..... is this sam?
I think anyone would think the iPhone air would be the premium model with them having pros out. Just like every other product the air is under the pro so that price estimate doesn’t really seem to make sense to me.
I still want mini
It does not make sense for the iPhone 17 Air to be more expensive than the Pro models. The Air models have always been priced below the Pro models with the iPads and Macbooks. So, either the iPhone 17 Air will get the price of the Pro and the Pro increases in price, or the *ultra* thin iPhone 17 will be called the iPhone 17 Ultra with an ultra high price tag.
Anyone complaining about battery life, do you live in some 3rd world country that suffers from blackouts? You live near chargers ALL the time. A mid-day charge won't ruin your day.
Stockholm syndrome. I know, i know, you have zero choice for a smartphone, so you live with the mid-day charge.
It’s 2024 not 2004
As long as the battery life is good, the refresh rate is 120hz, I won't really mind the 1 camera setup
Again the cycle is started he will gonna make the same video on this topic till the this phone releases to public 🤡
Depends on the price. I am every indifferent on any new iPhones these days, seems like the iPhone excitement has left me since my 13 Mini days.
Can’t see it been more than the pro max ,
Yes nice to see a scratch free screen again, my iPhone 12 never got a scratch in 3 years and I didn’t put a screen protector on it ,
15 pro scratched after about 3 weeks and i looked after it
Just hoping for something better😂😂
Real
The front facing camera changing to 24mp is not going to make it look much better, more pixel doesnt always mean better quality. Specially with such a small lense.
How about an iPhone fold
It should be slimmer than any iPhone ever! So far this doesn’t do anything for me because I don’t want a bigger screen and I want a real camera zoom. So looks like I’ll be buying the 16 or 17 Pro. I also want to see what the SE4 will look like, I can sacrifice a few things for the right price
iPhone is boring
The software is boring
It won't be that expensive, no way. It'll replace the Plus model, and will bump the price a little. I reckon: 17 = $799, 17 air = $999, 17 pro = $1099, 17 mac = $1199
That price is outrageous and I really hope Apple can't get away with something like that
So there will be 1 camera but it will be priced higher than the Pro Max? 🤔
So, the lineup next year is iPhone SE 4, iPhone 17/Air or Slim/Pro and Pro Max. Probably their last chance to give the vanilla iPhone a high refresh rate, or else they would be decimated by Pixel 10 series.
I had an iPhone 6s+ for 8 years 🥹 I’m ready to have another iPhone just like it
What happened? Why did you change it after 8 years?
@ it finally started showing its age. Calls, text and apps got too laggy.
I hated switching because that phone had no scratches, cracks, etc. it kept up with so much for so long.
Even though I upgraded I didn’t get rid of the 6s+. It’s my personal trophy to keep 🥰
will the iPhone 17 air be better than the pro?
I'm sorry, but how is the thinness supposed to be a selling point if it would be only as thin as the phone they already made?
I always wanted to buy SE but apple never cared about it
I just had a thought, one camera, thinner, smaller battery, this sounds like this could be a rebrand for the SE.
Good changes, looking forward to, except the thining. I wish for bigger battery, not a handheld razor.
I don’t get this. How is an “air” more expensive than the pro? Look at the iPads, & Macs. Also how is this a real redesign like the iPhone X?
Now add a 108mp ultra wide with Auto focus so that it can offer 3x lossless zoom. 0.5 to 1x and then to 2x 🎉😂
And since it’s an autofocus camera it’ll act as a macro as well
I kind of get it but at the same time not…. It’s worse than the regular 17, its the shiny new thing but not the top model. Do if your getting the top model you will be frustrated to not get a new look… so many questions
I'm confused
So will the iPhone 17 Air be a more luxury/premium phone than the iPhone 17 Pro???
I think it's a phone between the base models and the pro models.
i do not think it will cost more than the 17 Pro Max. Its just gonna replace the 16 Plus with a similar price point.
You're overhyping this, Apple won't do anything radical until 2027 when they release the iPhone XX / 20. Including jacking up the price to $1,500
apples new ultra premium model with a single camera and decade old specs 😮
do we really need thinner? I loved how the camera and back was flush on the older ones. I would take no camera bump over thin any day
As a pro max user nothing about the iPhone air sounds exciting or appealing to me. Basically just looks like a revamped SE
love that you wore the same shirt to announce the iphone 16 leaks
I think it will be a high end device for people who doesn’t care about camera.
The renders are literally just the rumours for the iPhone SE 4 but made thinner and with a Dynamic Island.
Thinner means lesser capable camera. I don't like that sounds - thin design
It’s the air…. My guess is it will be a mid-phone just a re-packaging of the plus to make it stand out and to get people excited about it. My guess is a 90hz screen too.
I still don’t get why having a thin iPhone is so important 😅I’m so happy with my 16pro
I think either the rumors are stupid, or you interpreted something wrong. There's no way an "air" product, let alone one with no glass finishes and only one camera, is going to be more expensive the the "pro" model line up with more premium features, materials and multiple lenses.
