    It seems pointless for concerts to echo back "recorded" music. Live music should be alive with new interpretations and ideas. Yes, Ms K's interpretations might be outrageous or "unclassical." But her passion is contagious, plus I end up looking at "warhorse" pieces with new eyes and appreciation. What more could anyone ask for?

    • @PedritoCarrillo
      @PedritoCarrillo 5 лет назад

      You should see the interpretation by Hilary Hahn instead..its a classical interpretation but its passionated and really powerfull. Patricia is a virtuoso yes, some parts really not sound in the total style. Ok its her interpretation but sometimes its really extreme and sounds like other period anyway she plays amazing

    • @GGbreizh
      @GGbreizh 5 лет назад +3

      In fact, Kopatchinskaja plays the concerto closer to how a violinist from Beethoven's era might play it than Hilary Hahn (whose interpretation is not at all classical but rather romantic).

    Ich bin ansonsten ganz bestimmt ein Bewunderer von Patrizias eindrucksvoller Kunst. Allerdings finde ich es schade, dass heute so Vieles gemacht wird, um in erster Linie schieres Interesse und überhaupt Aufmerksamkeit zu erwecken, aber nicht unbedingt, um hohen künstlerischen Zielen zu dienen. Für mich ist das Beethoven Konzert immer etwas ganz Besonderes, etwas Erhabenes gewesen. Es "reicht an die Gottheit an", wie es so schön in der Zauberflöte heißt. Diese Version allerdings, so interessant und meisterhaft ausgeführt sie auch sein mag, hat für mich nicht diese Dimension. Ich empfinde es als schade, dass es anscheinend oftmals nicht mehr ausreicht in aller Schlichtheit die wunderbaren Meisterwerke ohne Zusatz von Show-Elementen und/oder als Image-überfrachteter Musiker zu spielen. Damals stand Oistrach einfach da in all seiner Natürlichkeit. Das wirkte wohltuend. Die Musik braucht nichts anderes. Aber Gottseidank gibt es noch den Typus dieses Musikers. Ich verstehe dennoch den Grund dieser neuen Tendenzen: es ist ein Schrei nach Aufmerksamkeit in einer Musikwelt, die einfach zu viele Spieler hat. Diese vielen exzellenten Musiker verdienten wirklich all unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Aber wir können sie nicht allen geben, denn es sind zu viele. Patrizia könnte uns mit ihrem unglaublichen Talent bestimmt auch eine erhabene Version dieses Meisterwerkes geben. Aber sie hat sich in dieser Aufführung offenbar für etwas anderes entschieden.

    After listening to her re-working of Beethoven's Cadenza, I think Kreisler's Cadenza actually improved on Beethoven. It's like Beethoven mistakenly affixed a cadenza from something else he was working on, something avant garde, or maybe she distorted it. As one scathing critic said of another performance in history, "It stinks to the ear".

    • @bachianm2375
      @bachianm2375 Год назад +1

      I agree completely. This cadenza is, without euphemism, ugly. Kreisler's is warm and corresponds to the warm spirit of the Concerto and Beethoven's music in general. We are talking, of course, about the cadenza in the first movement, but the same can be said about the others in this interpretation.

    simplemente diferente, con gran fuerza, creo que le gana en momentos la gana de hacer sentir la música, sumamente teatral, creo que sabe más de lo que muestra, no creo que pueda tocar, obras lentas o profundamente "violinisticas" sin descomponerlas un poco, sería bueno que nos mostrará su técnica "a tempo" su ímpetu la lleva a desafinar con frecuencia... pero es un poco de aire fresco en escena actual, seguramente hay a quien no le guste pero creo que en un poco más de tiempo perderá tanta fiereza y tendremos una gran interprete.

    - And innovating is interesting, if questionable.

    - How would Beethoven have reacted [to her rendition]? Not favourably, I suspect.

      It's you who are making a fool of yourself. These are transcriptions of the cadenzas Beethoven himself wrote for the version he made of this concerto for the piano, op. 61a. You can listen to the original starting at 9:20 in this clip:ruclips.net/video/A-CwULXs-eo/видео.html . As for your criticism of her playing being "extreme" and "free," you should do more research on early 19th century performance practice - there is nothing in this performance that distorts the character of the music Beethoven wrote. Maybe it's Beethoven you don't like, not this performance.

    • @jansnauwaert1785
      @jansnauwaert1785 7 лет назад

      Idiot. Beethoven wrote no cadenzas for his violin concerto. Moreover, I didn't talk specifically of the cadenzas, but of the interpretation as a whole. I obviously now will stop this 'discussion' with you. I have things on hand that are infintely more interesting.
