Patricia Kopatchinskaja | A Day in the Life of the Moldovan-Austrian Violinist

- Patricia Kopatchinskaja is a musical natural phenomenon. "If I have the choice between perfection and risk, I choose risk.- it's more interesting and more exciting". We spend 24 hour with a violinist who says "just a beautiful sound is unbearable". Rehearsals with the Staatskapelle, salon music at the Brandenburg Gate, a meeting with choreographer Sascha Waltz and her husband, phone calls with her sick daughter and next a performance at the Berlin philharmonic.

With such childlike simplicity she expresses divinity.
I completely admire this very talented woman, especially when I saw her play along side another fine woman, Anoushka Shankar. Thank the heavens, thank the stars. Best.
I recently watched her performing the Stravinsky violin concerto. What joy, energy, and precision! She is adorable.
I think I watched a version of that on RUclips, with an opening movement so energetic that the audience burst into applause moments afterwards.
Patricia Kopatchinskaja is my hero. Devoted musicians like this Violinist are the reason I am a Composer, and why I continue to write for the Violin every day that I am in free pursuit of my art. What an inspiration. Her mastery and dedication are an inspiration !
same. dia adalah pahlawanku juga.
She is just a genius... love her ligeti, she is so creative
P.K. sure is a breath of fresh air in the world not just violin playing but in the entire classic genre of music-making!👍👍👍👏👏👏👌👌👌
Foarte frumoasa si talentata fata , succese mari in continuare , va admir !
Incredible talent with a Looney Tune-level passion for life and music. She plays with such poetry.
Q
Wow, the energy, the passion!!! I show this to my daughter whenever she slacks on violin practice.
I saw her in Birmingham playing the Tchaikovsky concerto with the CBSO and Mirga. Two independent, unique, spirits together on the same platform. An unforgettable experience.
I was fortunate in attending her performance of the Tchaikovsky Concerto in LA. She received a standing ovation after the FIRST movement. She encord with Legeti's Homage to Tchaikovsky played on an old upright piano!
Mărunțel, so cute she trying to explain the word small by saying that in Romanian :D Our Queen from Moldova!
0:36 Shoutout to Lord Vader and his superior conducting ability.
Another example that very well composed contemporary music (in a very good interpretation) can be absolutely thrilling. Bravo György, Bravo Pat, Bravo BPhil!
What a wonderful experience I had in listening to what you have to say and communicate to us the audience ❤️🎶❤️there is so much love in you and in your music, thank you, thank you❤️🎶❤️
Just amazing! What an inedible creature she is, words fail me!
holy smokes she is such a virtuoso, really up there... like Fritz ...I love her passion as she plays every detailed 1/128th note ;]

Amazing! and beautiful!
She's a little spark-plug, isn't she? She must be fun to be around, except when she's focusing on a concert. Well, it was fun watching, because she's fun Thanks.
I loved it!
Bravo! Moldoveanca!
I'm floored seeing this on the last day of March. Yes, another spring is here. Although it's still very cold here in Michigan. However,...still being 'blown away' by this LADY I lost track to what I wanted to say! AH YES...watching this softened my mind, heart and soul. Something i'm not sure how to describe. Patricia seems like a person maybe not for me to be out here saying "I think she's a superstar or inhuman in any way, and I do understand that". As a rock guitarist I do have to say...You Patricia Kopatchinskaja so rearranged something in me so cool, and for the better for sure! I thank you! To me you seem so modest, and you say that your're just human, and that I understand. I bumped into this about you early this morning, after seeing you play with Anoushka Shankar...(that was really cool) made me feel like this going to be a better spring, a better year with more peace in our world! Wish you well! Keep 'rocking' girl! John. : )
John Nimitz Jr same here, saw her with Anoushka S.. Amazing
Thank you for the reply Kenji Gyary....I would of loved to had been there with you! : )
Geniale Frau!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wowwww
Mi piace un sacco. Acelerando acelerando!
amazing personality
I can't wait for PK to record some Reger, like the op.139 Sonata!
They say there's a fine line between genius and insanity. PatKop stands on it.
I hope you play in California sometime soon. Can't wait to see you play live.
Pat Kop will be the Music Director of the Ojai Music Festival in California 7-10 June, 2018. We can not wait!!

@@rubenmsk what does scare you about her? that she scares you has a lot more to say about you than about her ;) didn't seem creepy at all to me, altough I think I understand why she could give you that impression, but who knows what you are feeling exactly (apart from you, maybe)

Be
Eine Leiterin dann , die den Leitern lehrt ?
Watch from 24:05 to 24:09...seems like she getting punched by the music conductor..haha brilliant music tho.
For sure a fantastic player, but did she get a funny look from the conductor for adding a note at 23:23 ? She's great at finding split-second opportunities to detach broken bow hairs. Seriously Patricia, get someone who is better at servicing your bow. Hairs should not detach this often.
¿Está siempre contando un chiste?
this creepy lady reminds me to margaret white the mother of carry white hahahahahah really creepy
She plays extraordinary good as a soloist...but i dont like her style and ideas...
