One of the warmest versions I have heard of this nostalgic song. The lady without doubt is quite photogenic, an added bonus to my listening (and viewing ) enjoyment.
Kenal Chanel YT nya mbak Natalie King sekitar satu tahun yg lalu. Tentu dengan keyword summertime. Muter lagu ini jadi ke inget waktu malam malam ngerjain skripsi, sambil wifi-an di suatu angkringan di kota Atlas. Makasih mbak, :D
Great version of a classic, well done. However, it is not by Ella Fitzgerald, the music was written by George Gershwin for his operatic interpretation of the novel 'Porgy and Bess'. The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward, the writer of the novel. Ella Fitzgerald's singing, almost 30 years after it was written, made the song even more famous.
@@josephpaul4548 it literally says “by Ella Fitzgerald” in the video description. I agree with Robert Neilson. It should say by Gershwin and Heyward. Ella Fitzgerald did not write the song. The term “by” in this context implies “written by.” The original songwriters deserve the credit.
@@thomcarls2782 I agree. It seems that composers don't even get half the credit that singers do. It's a shame. Good songwriting and composition ability are great gifts. They can be developed, but can't be taught.
I didn't know this of classy sophisticated jazz existed anymore until I discovered this lady. What a talent. If only the world could have more of this instead of the rubbish that apparently charts these days. This is sublime.
I do see some but living on a small island state not many groups come here. But I have over 2000 CDs mostly jazz legends but other stuff too. Hope the rest of 2023 is good to you. Cheers.@@johnwattdotca
@@triplejazzmusicisall1883 I think the greatest human accomplishment on acoustic piano is McCoy Tyner, the song "Naima", from the album "Echoes of a Friend". He does live versions with bass and drums, but the original album version is the best by far. The RUclips video only shows the album cover. My favorite sax or flute with bass and drums is an Elvin Jones album, "Agape Love", with Joe Farrell on sax and flute and Buster Thompson on acoustic bass. And even thought it's mostly electronic, Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix has some deep, almost underwater listening, "1983, a Merman I would Be, Moon turn the tides, gently, gently away". CDs are going away around here, more DVDs being resold. I could wish you happy holidays, but I'll suggest learning to play bass.
Nice voice, nice cover. But to the best of my knowledge, the song is not by Ella Fitzgerald (though she certainly sang it fabulously), it was written by George Gershwin as the opening song of his opera, Porgy and Bess.

Brings this 78-year-old male to tears. Beautiful song and lady.

mas ela está cantando a versão da Ella Fitz, oh cabeça!
Of course. And calling "cover" another version of an operatic aria that has had hundred of versions since its creation (1935) is ridiculous...
