Companies fire tens of thousands of people every year for sexual harassment. They don't announce it every time. Twitch did everything right. They fired the offender, protected the victim, and alerted the police.
He wasn't convicted of a crime. Publicly stating that he did what should have been charged as a crime would be grounds for a defamation suit.

Twitch letting a large creator creep on minors for 4 years isn't a good job. Predators don't just go after one person. There will be more victims and twitch is directly responsible.
They tried going to court, but Doc must've had some good lawyers because settlements and NDAs were involved.
If people knew at the time what happened, the victim would 100% have been doxxed. I hear what you're saying, but it wasn't the doc the were trying to protect. There are limits to what a company can do, and they removed him from the platform he was finding minors on.

keep in mind, no matter Slasher's shaky credibility or auxiliary commentary, his article was verified by Rolling Stone staff. they have journalistic practices to confirm what they released.
reality is these details could not be confirmed until there was primary sourcing and not just rumor or secondary sourcing:
"kicked off the platform in 2020 for allegedly sexting a minor through a messaging feature called Whispers, even after learning she was underage. He also allegedly inquired about her plans to attend TwitchCon, the company’s semi-annual gaming convention."
note how its clear that he:
1) sexted a minor, not just communicated with them "inappropriately"
2) learned she was underage and still communicated as well as sexted
3) asked about her plans for TwitchCon
this is a distinct difference from the original allegation on Twitter but not enough for reasonable people to really find a difference in principle:
"He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product. He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon."
so while the original accusation was right in what he did and through what method, he did not include the important distinction that he knew she was a minor and was wrong in that he technically did not try to meet up with her at TwitchCon. the fact must be that he asked about her plans, maybe mentioned his plans, but never technically tried to meet with her. so like "what you doing tonight?" rather than "can I meet you tonight?" as not all inquiries can be considered a direct ask. plenty of booty calls around the world start with an indirect ask but can reasonably be assumed to be a booty call based on context.

My whole thing is that IF Doc comes out of this as innocent and didn’t know the person was a minor, he STILL engaged in a conversation with someone that would lean inappropriate (his words) as a married man with a child. There are several reasons why even if this is true he may not be arrested. For one , Doc has a multinational audience and people travel across states and times countries to visit twitch con. Given that we don't even know if the minor is american jurisdiction issues alone could make any criminal proceedings difficult. The other reason is the Chris Hansen type scenarios are not the norm when it comes to people getting arrested for texting minors. It's difficult to build a case , especially if no pictures are exchanged.

The age thing there’s no excuse for, but when he says inappropriately messaging a minor we need to see chat logs to see what inappropriately refers to…was it sexually or was it inappropriate humor. Inappropriate could refer to a bunch of different things. Dude wasn’t charged and got paid 20 million fucking dollars.

He got paid out because of a contract dispute.
Not a real tweet. That was just made up. Doc got paid out because his lawyers identified that his contract was unbreakable. That's it. If Doc had been charged and found guilty of a crime, they might have been able to not pay him. But essentially, because everything was handled by the company and not the legal system. Doc's contract was still valid. Twitch had the authority to remove him from their platform. But they had no legal authority to break his contract.

i'm sorry, even in that scenario Doc was sexting a minor how can you justify that? that is the bare minimum in this situation as Doc himself has admitted to, in his own tweet he admits to it being an individual minor and not an individual posing as a minor, many times arrests are not made in these situations because of the victim's right to privacy.
