The metal chassis frame that holds the bottom arms is so thin you can actually lever it outwards slightly so the arm and polybush just falls into place. When you tighten it up it all draws back into place. With the rear anto roll bar bushes a good trick is to wrap the bar where the bush fits against it in PTFE tape and then smear over the grease and fit the polybush over it, guaranteed no sqeaks will appear over time because if the grease ever thins out the PTFE tape will still do it's thing A really worthwhile mod is also to fit in an electric power steering pump off something like a Corsa into the steering column, no more heaving the steering wheel at low speed.
Nice tip with the ptfe tape I'll keep that in mind in future. 👍👍
Nice job Mike I bet they’ll make that little car a bit nicer handling! I’d never have noticed the coil suspension I’m afraid I’m certainly no mechanic lol I was actually thinking of Polly bushing the streetka …but I’m still thinking about it maybe if the sun comes out I’ll think a bit harder 👍
I'll let you know in a few weeks when I can finally drive her again 😁
Great job, as usual. If I had kept the mk2, I probably would have fit this kind of kit! When is road test?
A week on Friday 😬😬
In the mk2 party group, we have purchased outlaw silenblocks, with a very bad experience. Very poor quality, they all break within a few kilometers.
You'll tell me how things are going for you.
Certainly will keep everyone posted on how they feel
They're definitely NOT Polybush products - You've fitted outlaw polyurethane bushes.
It's poly, as in polyurethane, not polly as in parrot lol.
Hahahaha didn't see that 😂😂😂. Thanks for pointing that out
