i have a surface pro 1 with the better base with the gtx processor. So the screen had some black light bleeding issues to begin with. Now there are 8 strips of what I think is a burn at the edges of the screen. 2 strips of burn per edge. I was wondering if I need the whole screen replaced or just the battery pack. Also If the screen needs to be replaced, can I upgrade the screen quality? Also the approximate cost involved. Thanks
In regards to the component you started removing at 7:46 and reattached at 8:07, what kind of adhesive was securing that component originally? Does it need to be electrically or thermally conductive? Did you find that adhesive tape worked okay?
You need to remove all the old stuff or the screen will not sit level,if needed you can get a small knife kit with a flat chisel like blade to scrape off old glue or simple ipa.
I managed to save the lcd screen on a battery replacement. But now i cant find the correct adhesive. Anyone know of any. And did the one on this video work. (No lifting)
I typically use this for all my display and glass adhesion: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NATMKLL/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You just have to make sure that your mating surface is clean and that the frame is straight on the device itself so the screen lays flat. I did end up re-doing the adhesive before the customer came to pick up, but after straightening out the computer frame and making sure the surface was clean this adhesive hold well.

How hard was it not to break the glass?
What type of double sided tape did you use?
