Makes life easier when you can find water .Was up Mulhacen (Sierra Navada Spain) in March and used about 350grams of gas for supper and breakfast and refilling water bottle and flask . No wood fires upthere .
It's a lovely place for a wild camp. The weather wasn't anything like that when I camped there but the snow seemed to make it even more special. Thanks for sharing. Atb Shaun
Simply beautiful Andy. I thought it was still when you first set up - ideal! But you say the wind picked up then dropped down to reveal perfect snow conditions. The last time I was there it dumped rain - this is somewhat of a difference. Good going. Mark
Hi David, yes your wee trip and great vid inspired me to try it again in winter, didn't disappoint ! Great spot when you get it to yourself , summer might be different :-) ATB A
Years since I had a summer camp there Ray and wanted to get back this summer but missed that boat. Winter really added it to it though, sublime wee meadow . A
Brilliant stuff Andrew 👍. . We’re dying to get out for a camp in the snow. We had 4 inches down here on fri/sat and as usual the whole south ground to a halt 🙄. We watched this with envy lol. Cheers. Austin and Lucy.
Thanks guys. Yeh knocked it off with the weather , turned mild here too, reckon it will be near green again up there ;-) Happy camping to both of you and look forward to watching your next adventure. A
Brilliant brilliant brilliant!!!! You captured the Lost Valley perfectly. Great clarity in the video and the wee tent looked right at home. Your pal did well but you need to impart some “pitching knowledge “ cos his tent looked like a dish towel propped up with some golf clubs😂😂. Real alpine flavour to this vid......top notch. ATB 👍
Brr, chilly one. I camped there in summer, it was a bit midge. Maybe a winter camp is better option. I always see that house as Hamish MacInnes's, not Saville's. Wonder if it will ever be used again? 🤔 Cheers Robin
Ah jeez Robin, now you mention it I recall it was Hamish's, that would have been a better memory! I saw the man in the news the other day , I think dementia has got to the old climber but a legend. A
Superb Andrew, perfect wild camp, Hows your friend getting on with the Access 1? hard to find a review of one in the wind and rain, how do you find them in terms of waterproofness as well? lovely video :) Tim
Hi Tim, great to hear from you, hope you're well . Jim loves the Access and it's become his 'go to' nearly all year. Never had a problem with the HH and only 1 night where he had significant condensation on the inner but that was probably due to his water bottle soaking his bag before he went to his kip! ATB A
hello from France Andrew, Very nice adventure.... Are you ready to try the same experience with you Torridon Vango 200 or is MSR the top of the market.... :-) Thanks for your very nice and interesting movies.... Alain
Bonjour Alain, thanks for the comment. It would have been good to try the Torridon in snow but I sold it before the first snows arrived :-) A thanks for watching.
@@AndrewParkOutdoors Hi Andrew, Does it means that you replace the Torridon with a MSR ? Always curious to hear about your experience.... did you like the Torridon.... I plan to buy one..... It's a pleasure to follow your "you tube" movies and comments. Take care. Alain
Yes the Torridon is very good Alain , it's just that in winter I only camp solo so I start using a solo tent to save weight. I think you'll like the Torridon though. A
Hello, may I ask, did you use snow stakes!? if so, do you use them on the guylines only, or every stake out point? do you attach the guy line directly to the peg or do you use the little clip/carabiner thingy that comes with the stakes? cheers
Hi Ignacio, not on this trip, just normal pegs straight into frozen grass , I've got stakes for when it gets really deep, but most of the time I'm able to dig or flatten a spot to get normal pegs in. A
Great video. I've been looking at both of these tents. Would you prefer one over the other? The Advance Pro 2 (single wall?) seems a little claustrophobic and wet inside. I think I'm leaning a little more towards the Access 1 (double wall?) and it seems to have more room. Is there a big weight difference? Any suggestions?
If you want an all rounder the Access is more versatile for sure. If ultimate strength, lightest weight and single overnights is more your bag then the advance pro would be best. A

I just love snow, I don't know why but I just got to get out there and camp in the snow! Great video! Inspiring!
Thanks for your support! Yes that's a memorable one for me, loved it up there. Happy camping 🏕️!
A very enjoyable watch Andrew , it looked pretty cold up there but no probs with all the right gear . atb Dave..
Actually stayed warm all night , plenty layers and a hot water bottle, result :-)
another cracking video mate. love it there but never camped in lost valley. one for the to do list. keep up the good work

Loved camping here, it has a really eiree feel and when the walkers have gone the deer and stags appear...

We enjoyed watching your video. My husband would like to know if you got much condensation in the tent in such cold weather?
Yes Caroline, in mine certainly, it's manageable though that's the worst I'd experienced in 6 nights of camping in it in varying weather. A
Ok, thanks!
Awesome!
Pretty scenery, howdy from Texas
Howdy and thanks for watching A
Andrew Park you bet, been enjoying your videos for a couple yrs now

Hope I don’t sound daft… but…. Isn’t snow a water source? 🤣
Haha yes good point ! Just didn't want to burn too much fuel melting the stuff! ;-)
Thanks for the video - bad was the condensation on the access 1?
Hi Jess , Jim had no problems worth mentioning that night, seems it was OK. A
